Since when is the 4500 made in China? I have the red white and blue 4500 I bought it spring of 03 and its made in America. I think I paid around $400 for it and its been a really good bike for me
Because EVERYTHING mad ein China sucks? Hey, that chair you're sitting on. It sucks. That mouse? Sucks. Your whole PC? Sucks. Hmm... Your shirts, pants, shoes, SUCK! In fact, YOU SUCK. Idiot.
zzz... its crap bike. it looks good but its crap. alpha sl aluminum frame is the only good part about this bike. Front 80mm Rock Shox Dart suspension & Shimano Deore derailleurs are for kids. Next
I only had $500 at the time, it was a good buy. And you can replace parts, shifters aren't that expensive, neither are brake levers. So yeah, I also did a lot of research before buying it. It's a good bike.
You got a good price! A really sexy bike for the price! I have a 4900 with juicy sevens and soon to have rockshox revelation (i've got pilot c's now and they are pretty crap to be honest)
Most companies have their bikes manufactured overseas. China and Taiwan are the main locations the main difference being the fact that Taiwan has higher levels of manufacturing. Trek does (as of now) keep its carbon frame production here in the US while Specialized and Cannondale have their carbon frames produced overseas.
I have a 2007 model. It's the best bike I've ever owned, got it for 300 bucks last august, has yet to fail me, but I doubt it will lol

Got the 2009 model. Like it alot. Don't like that the 2010 model has traded 9 sprockets for 8. Disc brakes don't make up for it, the V's were fine.

For the price it's a good bike, reliable kit.
It won't races-it wasn't made or priced for that.
I run full xtr Zaskar for xc and this buy got me into training and commutes with slicks.
The frame will last but just watch the bearings.

Suckers don't know that the only that mathers in the mountain are your legs? I kick your ass with a tricicle...
Shoure you have a bike of $10000 and end last on races, if you ever dare to race...

Well actually a fully rigid bike would win, but w/e.
AlucardZero 3 years ago
Thought you said PEGS! Yes, legs are the real important part.

over here(india), the Trek are imported from wisconsin. they may have a factory in china or an assembly line. they all say M-I-C.

You can upgrade those idiot.
AlucardZero 3 years ago
if you are truly an idiot then you'll spend money on replacing those crappy components parts... much rather buy Giant then Trek
had 6500 ... nice stiff frame, light and durable
..but man lazy shifters & squeegee breaks just ruined my ride every time
Get Giant or Cannondale instead

They're actually made in China, pretty much all bikes nowadays are made overseas.
RelentlessRC 4 years ago
that is not true, the only bikes that are made in china are the bikes for unserious riders
sunnyd214 4 years ago
yup if your riding hard you are alot better off with a norco. They are ALL made in Canada
tubetoyou72 4 years ago
