  • you have a good voice for explaining this. Kudos and Thanks!

  • More Left Wing, Global Warming propaganda.

  • @cessna65423 I know right!? Stupid fucking facts...

  • When I click chart, pie chart, then data range, and the pie is blank.

  • Thank you very much for this tutorial.

  • Bwahhh thank you. How is it in my computer-genius family no one know how to graph in Excel? My Climatology project is turning into quite the Saga. This was very helpful :)

  • Thank god for this video!

  • I love YouTube.

  • you just saved my ass, never procrastinating again

  • thank you very much

  • tnx!

  • Thanks!

This vid really helped me out with a report I had to do for school.

  • Thanks, man. Especially since I have an ancient version of Excel. You rock.

  • Thank You! I am trying to develop my skills in using the excel application effectively.Hoping you could download more information and updates

  • Thanks dude!

  • awesome and clear!

  • Cheers! Great tutorial... regardless of the $20 headset.

  • Still confused on how to assign the X & Y I am using 2007 new version. You jumped right over the assigning year to adding in you formula. One step at a time please.

  • @rslmartin27, I go fast because you have ability to pause. Select multiple columns before you click graph button and the left most column will always be X and the remaining columns will be separate series Y values. A series is a "line" or a group of points all the same color.

  • THANK YOU!!! <3

  • Thank you so much! This was exactly what I was looking for to help me finish my project!!!

  • Great video, helped me alot. But still got a burning question. Ive got a graph containing all the weeks and weight. But i've got different persons in it. So from one person I have week 1,4,5 and 7. But for the other person i have week 3,8,9. The x-axis goes from 1 till 10. But when I only fill in the weeks that ive got info about, the graph does not make a line between these points! It only makes little symbols/markers on the right week. But can I get that line also in there?

  • @msquestion22

Sort the data by person (then week) and it will work:

    week,john_weight,ingrid_weight

    1,50

    3,49

    4,49

    2,,39

    6,,35

    7,,34

(make sure you do scatter graph!)

  • very helpful thank you very much

  • thank you so much!

  • cheers m8, i do art and design so iv long since forgotten how to use excel lol!!

  • this video really came in handy for the physics lab. thanks a lot :)

especially the trick about dragging the bottom right corner down

i was gonna list 0.5 - 10.0 in increments of .5 by hand!

  • man ur so cool hahahah :D OFF THE CHART OMG!

  • my y axis come out as percentage and i want numbers what do i do?

  • It graphs whatever you told it to. You must have picked a percentage column in your spreadsheet. Instead I recommend creating two new columns side by side with the first column being what you want for the x axis and the second column being for the y axis (not percentage!). Then select those 2 columns and do "scatter" graph.

  • Hey, thanks for this video! I learned excell years ago and this video refreshed my memory, thanks!

  • I have to learn Excel for work and I'm glad I stumbled upon this video! Great job, keep them coming.

  • thanks. it helps

  • mine isnt showing the year on the x axis and i did it exactly the way you did :(

  • Did you choose line or scatter? Choose scatter. Is the year and the data on two columns right in a row with the year being in the left column? You can't have a separating column.

  • Hahaha... its already 2008 and there's still arctic ice

  • You saved me on a upcoming Marine Bio project, Thanks so much!

  • thanx so much!!! i needed help with a project and i didn't no how to do it and it took me hours and hours...thanks man!

  • this is very help ful i had project but i di dn ot know how to use it but this video helps me alot

  • Thanks, I needed to make a graph for school

  • awesome great help 5 stars

  • Thanks VERY much. A great help.

  • LOL, your joke at 5:58 was kick-ass.

And thanks for your response to Mysticskies's question. I had the same issue. Thanks again for an awesome video.

  • thanks man you really helped me

  • My problem was also that I clicked linegraph rather than scatter plot

  • hi, i'm doing an assignment and I'm really stuck. What if i need to graph data for 3 treatment groups for each period of time? it would just be like this graph except i need 3 lines. e.g. for each year i not only need to graph the area of the ice, i also need to graph stuff from 2 other categories. I tried doing that and it turned out all messed up. can you give me some suggestions? thanks!

  • It is critical that one column is your time, and the next 3 columns are your data - no columns in between! Then just select all your data and do a scatter plot like in the video. Those are the only 2 key steps - contiguous columns and 'scatter' (not line).

  • My problem was that I selected line graph, not scatter. When I used scatter it worked. Thanks alot, I really appreciate your help!

  • Thank you so much you helped me with a bio lab. By the way, you kiiinda sound like Napolean Dynomite :p No offence, he's sweet!

Thank you for posting this video I had to create a graph for my economics class and this video helped me. Thank you Thank you Thank you

  • ty for the vid it extremely help me :)

  • nice vid, but how did u get the years on the x axle?

  • Make sure the x axis data is in one column and the y axis data is in the very next column (no gaps!). Select both columns and do what I did in the video. Watch the video again.

  • Thank you so much!!! You helped me a lot in my project!!!

  • Thanks! I found this pretty helpful.

  • Thank you very much for this video. I use the newest version of MS Excel, but it still helped a lot. This was definitely a much better video than the ones offered by the Excel help window (Which didn't even work).

    Thanks again!

  • uMMm like O-M-G this is so stupid HAhahha a

  • xD Dude, for a second there, I thought I was doomed. And then you went through the whole 13 minimum and I'm like MY SAVIOR!!! And like, screamed through the whole house. xD I hate science class.

  • hey nice video, do you know how to draw a line graph used for science thats like, it had 3 things, Plant (1,2and3), Variable(tapwater, saltwater, rainwater, orangejuice), and days (1-3,4-6........28-30) ?

  • I need more info - e.g. what do you want for x axis? Often time goes on the X axis but sometimes time is your result and usually y axis gets the 'results' of your measurements. What would go on the y axis? Assuming you want a line graph - how many lines do you want per graph? 4 (one for each liquid)? 3(one for each plant)?

  • Thanks, but it's my mic. Click "more info..." right of video for details.

  • You def. DO NOT sound gay! And even if, apparently you helped prevent everyone (including myself) from failing...

    So major props.

  • i love you

  • dude you just saved my Biology project

  • Thanks a lot, you just made my life easy.

  • Thanks a lot, helped me tones

  • Great Video, Thank You!!

    Matt.

  • Make 3 columns. First column is time and can never be blank, Second column is car 1 velocity, third column is car 2 velocity. You can leave blanks in columns 2 and 3. Sort by time will look better but not mandatory. Select all 3 columns and do a graph and choose x-y scatter. It will automatically make first column x and the other two columns y.

  • OMG This helped me so much!

    Thank you!

  • thx

  • Thanks man

  • he helped alot but his voice is retarded

  • thank you, I needed to learn how to do this for a class and this demonstration video helped.
