I watched this in Montego Bay last year 2010 when it came out the first week. The movie siiick!!! Complete Jamaican cast and production team, and the story is very original. I want to see it again. Why don't they sell the DVD's.
Respect at the making of this film to teach the history of the epoch in Jamaican history which forever changed the fabric of the society. Once there was a new nation, yearning to forge ahead to be independent and strong. But, an already independent and strong nation had other plans for it. Better Mus Come shows what the plans for Jamaica were and the aftermath of those plans which were put into affect.
Sheesh they make Jamaica look like Africa! thank God i was born well after the 70s and all this nonsense-- which sad to say on a smaller scale still continues-there is a reason i dont vote! politics is best spelt politricks!
@carolinesalv 'make Jamaica look like Africa'...wow. Have u even been to Africa? The past gives clues to the present. 'Born well after the 70's'.....after 94' maybe?
@rimrod007 WHATEVER! i LIVE in J.A NOT Japan -so i know what im talking about! 94??? u wish! and yes i know quite a bit about Africa too! Okay Mr. nuff !! now mind your own damn business!
Port Royal Film Festival(?) premiered this a few years back. (Respec' Rich& Rach) Though Storm claimed editing was not complete, it kept me glued for a full 3 hours.
Filled with action, humor, suspense and eye-opening underlying plots ('Green Bay Massacre', Green Vs Red, divide and rule strategies, social struggles), the film peeks into the past giving an idea of the present.
Lots of creativity from the directors. Shows newer talent in filming. 'A Notchilous 2 Thumbs way up'. Sell off.
This is the type of film need to be seen worldwide, so people can see people can start to communicate we now in the 21st century and still we have learned nothing the downpresser man is still winning it only the downpresser who feel no pain none of this affect him in fact it feed him make him richer more powerfull he never hear mothers cry. It's not just Jamacia still all around the world the senceless waste of human life for what Yes films like this need to be seen and more need to be made.

To barkamule, the person who said "Things not so bad after all." Note well: The characters are fictional, but the story is based on true events. While I understand the point of view of ppl who wish there were more Jamaican movies about positive events, we must allow our filmmakers the right to tell stories of the bad that was/ is here. The Green Bay Massacre DID happen. The 1980 election WAS bloody. When we accept the truth then we can start the process of finding ways to mend our society.
So proud! So glad film is not dead in the Caribbean. Good luck, man. Can't imagine how much work must have gone into this. Dear lord, a period piece? Nuff respec'.
@barkamule um.....its actually worst...if u are a Jamaican then you would know our reality.. Please do not comment on what you do not know. Not everyone in JA is bad, but the few who are, they care only for themselves and are selfish heartless murderers, rapists and thieves who make it hard for every other Jamaicans.
@KuriousEngel 'barkmule' dogs bark and mule are the infertile progeny of an ass and a horse.....so 'barkmule' should be left in its ignorance. Some bubbles u allow to float till they pop on their own
@rimrod007 well, I would rather not comment on names or interpretations, but instead - the topic. Its okay to actually disagree. I know many Jamaicans who are perfectly okay with the current state of Jamaica. Where as I and many others are not, and wish that something could be done about it. I miss the old time "Jamaica-no problem"
@KuriousEngel 'I know many Jamaicans who are perfectly okay with the current state of Jamaica'...hard to believe. How can people be ok with the types of crimes committed and their frequency? Agreeing to IMF conditions and taxing food primarily consumed by lower income people? Mismanagement of indigenous resources and production to weaken our economy... I could go on. Perfectly ok must mean unaffected. Ignorance, indifferent and uncaring are children of beasts needing slaying
This looks pretty great, cant wait to see this in theatres. it IS comming out in theatres, rite? i think too much local film makers are sitting on their hands in terms of moving forward. too much begging and no passion
Looks like a classic.
