I admire their courage greatly. But the sad truth is that 'peace at all costs' sometimes doesn't work. I'm all for peace, when it's possible. I have very little admiration for the Dalai Lama. Instead of hiding in a different country, he needs to be rallying his people against the oppression of the Chinese. When you've got people killing you and otherwise violently oppressing you, you've got to STAND UP AND FIGHT.

Peace be with you. If Shugden followers want to worship a spirit, it is their wish. The Dalai Lama has given his suggestions to the community - follow it or don't, its up to you. Buddhism is NOT spirit worship - that is certainly true. Anywhere in the world - the Thai, the Sri Lankan, the Zen and other practitioners of Buddhism do not worship spirits in any form.

There's police stations inside the remaining monasteries. Also, spies and plain clothed police everywhere. In Tibet, Tibetans can't speak out freely. If they started to use twitter they'd be in a labour camp very quickly, especially if their tweets were against the party line.
