I really love this camera! Very nice for my time-lapse movies. I can do time-lapse photography with the NEX using this simple remote intervalometer:TEMPUS. have you tryed it? website at: tempus.bymac.org
I don't get this, what is the point? Is one faster than the other? I mean, sure, there's a smaller gap between each shutter on the Sony, but isn't it the speed of a single cycle that's important?
in a lot of reviews i see in comparison with GF1 and NEX 5 (and personal experience with a friend), i found out that it is hard to avoid camera shake in photos taken with GF1. when i go and buy a camera, the salesman introduced GF1 to me, he says it is better and cheaper.. which sounds fishy... so, i check the internet.. and found out.
The 20mm f/1.7 makes the GF-1 looks good vs. the NEX-5 with its so so kit lens.....BUT...with a good lens, the NEX-5 is the real deal. I've seen really good lens (manual lens) used on this camera and the pictures are 5x better than what the GF-1 can give you. The GF-1 also sucks on ISO800+

nex may look good with its ISO, but after close inspection, u'll noticed the excessive noise reduction. way too much details are lost.

@TheSpade357 yes my friend, you are right. NEX-5 with Nikon lenses gives you stunning image quality, but it's pricey (converter+lens+cam)

It wouldn't be surprising if the Sony NEX-5 is better in Sports Photography.. But in IQ, my bets are on the GF1..

@BedShaker0909 jpeg yes but not raw, the raw IQ of nex-5 is even better than 550D.

@BedShaker0909
Nex-5 has the best image quality in this size range.
