  • Everybody use to identify with big pete because he was more mature and always the most sane in the family (a family with a grumpy mom and a dumb dad) and the small pete was to just roll in the floor laughing, anyway the greatest part was when they helped one to each other in case of trouble.

I'm proud to know this tv show.

  • Gives me chills to hear this again hahaha....

  • AI AI AI IIIAAAA, HOT DOG BITE, Hey Sandy

  • Chuck Taylor!

  • Jupiter, or thor, is perfect, we need atlas for our long distance stuff, the titan will be even better, they shouldn't have cancelled navajo, wait 'til you see our submarines with POLARIS.

Attention all personnel, this is CVTS, base vehicle pre-count operations will start on my mark in 5,4,3,2,1...

  • God. I am born in 1997. But i have a 26 and 21 year old brother. They kept my filled in my entire life. and i LOVE Pete and Pete. I wish i could say i was a 90's kid, but i can't. People around my age are going "Yeah 90's woo!" and there saying the easily remembered shows like the "Amanda show", and "All That" (which i love, don't ge me wrong) and I say "Yeah, what about Pete and Pete?" and ever body is like.. "Huh? Are you retarded?" and i just puke, everywhere. Oh well. Still a great song.

  • Went back and watched some old nickelodeon shows for the nostalgia. I realized how amazing well written this show was. It felt very emotionally real even if it was just nonsensical. I love it when children's entertainment tries to be unique and doesn't feel like it has to dumb itself down.

On a side note, when watching these old shows I grew up with, I realized something. Hey Dude was fucking dogshit.

  • @arouska I've always hated Hey Dude.. I was like WTF MAN.. and get pissed an throw my fruit roll up at the TV and I FUCKING LOVED FRUIT ROLL UPS >_<!!! i'd still eat it after

    ( -_-)

  • @FTMChocolateBear

Literally like the same story here haha

  • i once nailed this song tab it out then forgot it

  • its mighty strange....you looking at the leafy range...ive could told yous shimbag or have you kicked your dog yet it's in me?! got your dog? Its in me? I been away, in that species, in that badais, people talkin funny, b ut guitar hit the folk comin, got your dog it's in me...got your dog it's in meee!

    lyrics are awesome!

  • @Ayzahar "Hey smiling strange, you're looking happily deranged. have you settled to shoot me? or have you picked your target yet. hey sandy.

  • @DrunkenMasshole that makes less sense than what I said.

  • Proud to be a 90's kid!

  • Do you guys know any other band kinda 90'ish like this or Miracle Legion and such? Something like "It's the end of the world as we know it". I'm looking for this genre but I can find a description.

  • @lopeztrasmiranda It was called alternative or college rock then, but everything has that tag now. try looking for the MTV show "120 minutes" and you'll find a lot of stuff.

  • @morphhex You're now my official hero.

  • @lopeztrasmiranda the feelies

  • @lopeztrasmiranda check out Gin Blossoms

  • i hear this song and think...somewhere, out there in the world, artie, the strongest man...in the world is running free, doing battle with the atlantic ocean, moving houses, and staring down queen bees...i miss that man.

  • @marvel8797 LoL fighting the good fight!

  • @ 0:42

I don't care what the lyrics are, I will forever remember this as "have you bitten your dog again, hey sandy...does your dog bite?"

but it's really "have you picked your target yet, hey sandy, don't you talk back"

  • theory: this song is about Sandra Scheuer killed in the Kent State shootings. What do we think?

  • @nilperos This is correct.

  • @nilperos Theory: That's not your theory.

  • i miss the 90's

  • I love this song. It's perfect for the show!

  • The Adventures of Pete and Pete was the greatest kids show ever made. I was ten years old when it first aired.

  • The biggest mistake was canceling this show! The 90s will always hold a special place in my heart.

  • I love polaris

  • "They shouldn't have canceled Navajo" sound pretty menacing to anyone else?

  • Another thing...

We of the 90s watched the Power Rangers & even played the first Mortal Kombat at young ages, yet turned out just fine, as the television & games served as a vent for life's frustrations, as opposed to kids killing themselves by imitating cartoons like Naruto or accidents like the Ken State tragedy (which "Hey Sandy" references) that so many are ready to blame on the makers of violent imagery, even though it is the parents & kids themselves who are at fault for what happened.

  • What a great song!

  • i would only watch the show for the intro.

  • I wish this was longer.

  • Bless the 90s and its awesomeness.

  • Hey smilin' strange

    You"re lookin' happily deranged

  • god i miss the 90's. :'(

  • Damn... I remember I use to have these on VHS. I don't even know if I still have them...

If anyone here bulids a time machine, PLEASE let me know. I'll pay ANYTHING to go back to the 90's.

  • Love this osng.

  • hisma is starnge

    you looking atthe leaning ring

    I coulda said ashumba!

or have you picked your darken dick

    it's in me

    aye aye aye

    Oh's that your car?

    aye aye aye

  • @gatchaponkei How you got two thumbs up is beyond me. Good job finding 2 like-minded people.

  • I remember waiting for Adventures of pete and pete to come on and as soon as this song started I got up dancing!!! <333 Takes me back! I feel so old! lol So terrible what things have come to these days....especially coming from this...So depresssing!

  • The famous "a can u sail-a-shume-bay" line. I remember always wondering what Polaris was saying there as a kid! Alas it's "Could you settle to shoot me?"

Thumbs up if you wondered that as a kid :)

  • @dbzdude2002: "Hey smilin' strange. You're lookin' happily deranged. Could you settle to shoot me? Or have you picked your target yet? Hey Sandy! Don't you talk back. Hey Sandy! Four feet away...End of speech, it's the end of the day. We was only funnin'l, but guiltily I thought you had it comin'. Hey Sandy! Don't you talk back. Hey Sandy!"

Eerily similar to the Kent State Massacre (poor Sandra Schreiver [the Sandy mentioned]), much?

  • this takes me back

  • This made me tear up. I miss being a kid.

  • FUCKING 90'S NICKELODEON #EPICWIN

  • fuckin love this song!!!! having a nostalgia attack!!!

  • Man I miss this sound...

  • I remember when i had 7 years old, and coming right of school, eating a sandwich watching the new cartoons, the fuckin beavers and hey arnold. The best part comes when i fake a cold and stay in home, i watched Pete & Pete all morning. I wish i can be on that time. now are 15 years! im' 22! SHIT!

  • @Kudell46and2 ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT??

  • @bchimself you're an ass

  • @bchimself quit hating, fool.

  • @bchimself great job copying a nigger that barley knows english

  • @Kudell46and2 Yea pete and pete only came on during school hours so i to had to skip school to watch

  • So fuking true dude ! @retrogroovygal111

  • Cool song, but I can't help but hear a bit of a TMBG influence in there. : )

  • This thread is hilarious, I'm gettin' a little tear of nostalgia! From a UK POV I will say I think kids TV we grew up with (80s 90's) was way smarter, edgier, funnier and damn cooler on both sides of the Atlantic than the fucking weird terrible kids shows on now

  • @cjstevens8 well - kids are a lot edgier today than they were in the 80s and 90s. Smarter? morally. Funnier? Sure. Cooler? Undoubtedly. Even a couple of innocent dbags like Pete and Pete make Drake + Josh and Zoey 101 (among other shows) look like fucking trainwrecks. Back in the day though you didnt think the kids portrayed on these 80s and 90s shows were anything out of the ordinary, but now it;s like a snapshot of the pre-internet age, in comparison better, in most ways simpler.

  • q recuerdos

  • lyrics. Hey smilin strange you lookin happily deranged could you settle to shoot me? or have you picked your target yet Hey sandy dont you talk back hey sandy 4 feet away end of speech is the end of the day we was only funnin but guiltily i thought you had it comin hey sandy dont you talk back hey sandy (frickin epic guitar solo) hey sandy dont you talk back hey sandy hey sandy dont you talk back hey sandy heey (closing riff)
  • :( Pete y Pete!!

  • It's a song written from the view of Sandy,Her friend whom was close by (4 ft maybe)from her,and the shooters view of the Kent state shooting.

  • 8 people doesn't belong to the 90's and likes Hanna Montanna and Big Time Rush. So sad. u_u

  • does your dog bite?

  • ohh pete and pete was one of nick's best shows! arnie was the bomb! c'mon nick bring back the good stuff and the theme was the best ever! X3

  • :'( NOSTALGIC

  • Funny how this song is about the Kent State University shootings.

  • @hell5309 how is that funny?

  • @djpetrick222 It's peculiar and ironic. This song is about a girl named Sandy who was killed in the crossfire there when a bullet when through her throat.

  • @djpetrick222: It's not. Peculiar means strange and it's ironic, because the song is theme to zany sitcom Pete & Pete, yet is about the Ken State massacre, in particular, Sandy's tragic death.

  • @hell5309 Jesus... I knew nickelodeon used to tow the line quite a bit more than they do now...but what?

  • @Andalucia727 Okay, if anything, this song was picked due to the fact that its lyrics were only half comprehensible and it sounded cool. Nickelodeon most likely doesn't support stuff like that.

  • Incredible series, not only popular in the USA but also in latinamerica

Proud to hate hannah M. and loving Polaris!

  • Agreed with Tredlow .... So much of childhood right here.... oldschool Nikolodeon was the bomb ;)

    -LUMi

  • This song = My childhood.

  • I'm proud to say that I had/have a huge crush on Elena.

  • wow, i miss this song and show. Its is hard to sit back and let the 90's run thru my head..A lot of first in that decade...

  • I use to have a crush on Little Pete. GAH!

  • @MashBananaPirate I used to have a crash on Petunia. Pingas!

  • @pearljaime2 Petunia was an angel. i think every 11 year old in the 90s had a crush on her

  • jimmy carlin!!

  • I'm rolling a two skinner ;3

  • oh nostalgia

  • 0:26 if you want to skip to the song.

  • @fghn907

But that intro is part of it!

  • Pete and Pete was awesome as a child. I still watch it now with friends when we get stoned. cool song and show.

  • Can ya sale the chembayy

  • I'm addicted to this song. This with a video of anything from the early 90's is my fascination right now.

  • I never even watched this Pete and Pete show, yet this song still encapsulates the 90's experience for me

  • the song gets outta control...at 1:33 - 1:47....(my favorite part of the song)

  • jesus people!

    live in the now!

  • This song has something to do with a school shooting at a college, I remember them talking about it.

    He says:

    "Hey, smilin' strange.

    You're lookin' happily deranged.

Can you settle to shoot me?

Or have you picked your target yet?

    Hey Sandy

    Don't you talk back.

    Hey Sandy.

  • @EvilCarNinja It's about the Kent State Massacre 40 or so years ago.

  • Greatest Theme Song EVER! Go 90s!

  • I Love Pete & Pete....

  • ;___; miss this show...

  • drrambo i dont know how anyone could have possibly said it any better. im speechless

  • Comment removed

  • before reading the lyrics i thought he was saying ''hey sindy, i got your dog back''

  • @BrightEyedBieber Some people think he says "Does your dog bite?"

  • ^_^ i love this, they sound like dig circus from catlin's way

  • Ohh man this bring backs memories

after listening to in for the nth time i realize how much i hate reality shows

  • 1:32 i love this guitar solo^^

  • These kids now are missing out now with their stupid Big Time Rush and Hannah Montana CDs. In the 90's, this was the soundtrack worth listening to for a kids' show.

  • @retrogroovygal111 viejo tenes razon esta banda es de lo mejor fuck bigtime y fuck al nikelodeon

  • @retrogroovygal111 thats because we had real songs by real artist that did the openings to the old show....like how TLC did All That theme....but now if you have a show that makes you a singer as well...how did that even happen...i mean really

  • @retrogroovygal111 Honestly, I would have agreed with you before, but now I really don't think so. To them BTR and Hannah Montana is their thing. It's not meant for us because we're adults now and we need to move on with our lives. Think about it, do you think the generations that grew up watching Looney Tunes, Clutch Cargo, and Scooby Doo really thought are shows were any good. I'm certain they said the same things when they grew up. Let's just enjoy our shows and let em have theirs.

  • @OniLordMiki true, there were some complains, but no, i dont remember that there was such a conflicts in between generations, most of the parents in the 90's would actually understand our ways of entertaining, they sure knew our cartoons were dumb, but now there 2 generations thinking that the new series are messed up.

but there ARE things that the kids now will actually look back at and remember how good they were. not the pop things though, i mean... who the heck can remember the BSB?

  • @OniLordMiki no way, man. my parents knew that the adventures of pete and pete was quality.

  • @OniLordMiki i am 29 my 5 and 7 year old LOVE old cartoons. They love tom and jerry and scooby doo a lot.

  • @OniLordMiki: Funnily enough, we were the Silver Age (ex: Kid's WB, the debut & success of Nickelodeon [i.e. Nicktoons like Rugrats & Hey Arnold; game shows like GUTS & Hidden Temple; brilliant live-action shows like Pete & Pete, Alex Mack, or Salute Your Shorts; its answer to Tales from the Crypt/Tales of the Darkside/Goosebumps/Eerie Indiana via Are You Afraid of the Dark; etc.], as well as classic Disney & the fledgling Cartoon Network).

  • @OniLordMiki: You say our previous generations would've disliked our shows, but the airing of shows those previous generations grew up on right alongside our own (ex: Looney Tunes, Charlie Brown, The Muppets, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Underdog, etc. all airing on Nickelodeon right alongside the Rugrats, Kablam, Hey Arnold, Alex Mack, Pete & Pete, and other 90s Nick classics that prove--like the TeenNick latenight block--"The 90s ARE All That") disproves that.

  • @OniLordMiki: Another thing that disproves it...

Anne Sweeney = Disney Destroyer (Mickey as a Dora knock-off, replacing CR on a 2010 CGI Pooh show--which Clare Milne sued Disney for--and her direct statement about how young girls now are only thinking about being hot, as opposed to the princesses & tomboys of the past)

Stu Snyder = CN Crusher (he came up with CN REAL)

    Teen Mom = Self-explanatory

Toddlers & Tiaras = Toddler exploitation by putting whore-ish looks over actual personality

  • @retrogroovygal111 Make that for adults too, I mean all it only was a half-way decent underrated 1990's rock band.

  • I could never tell what he was saying :)

  • Dr.Rambo PWNS!! this song makes me happy!

  • Iam From mexico, and I liked to watch pete & pete, for me it was one of the greates shows in the 90's and this song always makes me feel in the 90's wen I was a kid... I always wanted this song to last a little more XD sorry for my english

  • @Kaifanef theres nothing wrong with your english dude

  • @americiancomrade thanks bro (=

  • @Kaifanef awesome comment feel the same way bro am mexican american i grew up in east LA crazy how another mecxican felt the same i did cool firme.

  • @caatgunr Wow cool the 90's tv shows and the music were the best for m:D nice to meet you bro I am from Durango Mexico I would like to go to LA some day... Do You have facebook or sometin' ???

  • Are you guys kidding about the tv being better in the 90's. It just seemed that way because we were younger. Any of you ever tried to watch any of the old tv shows you used to like in the 80's and 90's?? Unwatchable.....

A lot more channels and options today. I think the problem is that society has degraded so much in the past 10 years (as evidenced by popular culture) that people are finally starting to get mad about it. I guess one good thing is that there were no reality shows.

  • @WorshipInTruth good point..thoush i can still watch pete and pete or sertin how and get a kick...as a adult i find the show martin evan more funny. but now is seedy.

  • @WorshipInTruth i think you fail to see the corelation between bad input and bad output.

  • @WorshipInTruth when i was a kid, i watchedd exo squad and (the good) sonic. both were about heroic "freedom fighters" resisting the tyrannical world government. today, kids shows are about how good it is to submit to world government so they can save us from imaginary problems like global warming.

  • @cyberpsygen7 Same propaganda in the 90's. It is just more blatant now.

  • @cyberpsygen7 true man freak the NWO all the crap they spread

  • @caatgunr : Beware the Radioactive Jewish-Muslim Space Lizard conspiracy.

  • Wow!!!! I never realized how creepy the lyrics were!!! i mean when your a kid you don't pay attention to the small things . this was the intro to one of my favorite show PETE and PETE>> But the intro still takes me back.

  • When I hear this song, I want to see that freshly-mowed lawn back on the television again.

  • This song is me

  • wasnt pete and pete 1993 to 1998? how is this off their 99 album?

  • @AntiVenomFangX

    It wasn't released until 99.

  • @Estragon17

so pete and pete had an exclusive track? cool.

  • @AntiVenomFangX

Actually, the whole album is the only thing ever done by Polaris and was done for the show. Everything else the band did outside of the show was done as Miracle Legion.

  • @Estragon17

that's pretty cool. thanks for the education man.

  • Hey Sandy, Don't you talk back!

  • Ay-yo Pete n Pete theme song Imma let you finish and all... but Are You Afraid Of The Dark was the greatest Snick show of ALL TIME!!

  • Straight from the mouth: I gave you a shell to shoot me, oh, have you picked your target yet? hey sandy.

  • @zemzembamzem sorry I kinda screwed that one up a bit, forgive me for being tired. It's: I'll give you a shell if you shoot me. Referring to a shotgun shell.

  • I just built a time machine who's coming back to the early 90's with me? Days when Nickelodeon and Michael Jordan ruled the tv. When there was no Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus, but Billy ray cyrus and his achy breaky heart. these days may be gone but at least we lived through them and enjoyed them. i rate the 90's 10/10.

  • @joshman783 I agree. Even though we have to look ahead to the future, we are pretty grateful to live through and enjoy the 1990s.

  • GOD DAMNIT 90's Music was so much better...

  • Hey smiling strange,

    You looking happily deranged,

Have you settled to shoot me?

or have you picked your target yet?

    Hey Sandy

  • @kaoticXIII Yeah. That probably refers to a soldier aiming at Sandy at the Kent State Massacre. O.o

  • could you stand to shoot me? or haven't you picked the target yet?

    :)

  • Once you realize that there are two voices saying aiaiaiai can not stop hearing it: 3

  • does someone knows how much delay this song has?,or the 100% correct tablatures? :3

  • im so glad i was born in 89 i was able to watch and enjoy nickelodeons golden age with all its great shows pete and pete and salute your shorts was my favorite, then all of a sudden its gone and we're stuck with sponge bob and the rest of the shitty shows.

  • @DrRambo Couldn't of said it any better!!!

  • this band rules

  • While not to break everyone's nostolgia...I never want to go back...my years as a child were filled with way to much being pushed into the ground...assholes.

  • Wow...I didn't know that a simple musing on my part would apparently strike true with so many people. I'm just as glad as I am surprised, however. It's incredibly good to know that I'm not the only one who feels that way.

  • @DrRambo a lot of people feel the same way you do, including me.

  • dawww

I used to watch this show when I was like 8 or 9, everyday after elementary school, good times I wish to go back so bad : (

  • When you're in kindergarten, you want to be in elementary school. When you're in elementary school, you just want to get to middle school. When you're in high school, you just want to get to college. When you're in college, you just want to go back to high school. When you're at grad school, you just want to be there at college. And when you've gone up and down the corporate ladder, and you've seen the peak of the highest mountain, you just want to go back to kindergarten.

  • @Nothwithstanding Isn't that the truth. Goes to show just how trivial our wants and needs are as human beings, when all we really want is to be kids again.

  • @Nothwithstanding Beautiful.

  • @Nothwithstanding life does kinda suck that way, dosent it?

  • @Nothwithstanding I literally said that EXACT SAME THING in 6th grade my first year of middle school I swear to god. Except Ieft out the grad school part. I cannot believe society has gotten so dull minded that they gave you 40 thumbs up for something I disregarded as completely jack-off attempt at a philosophical quote before high school.

  • Your page says you're 23. when you're significantly older than 23, you might end up having a different idea of what time period you'd ideally like to go back to. like for example, when you're 45, you might lump your college and grad school years together. who knows?

  • The little bear being hunted by a heat sinking missile! brilliant.

  • hey, where i can found this album ??

  • @slapmastered every time i hear the word riboflavin i will think of time travel, forever.

  • it's almost hard to listen to this song. It sure is great to hear this again but I know that I'll never be able to relive the 90's and that time of magic. I miss how it used to feel in fall, when the leaves fell and that smell was in the air.

    R.I.P. the best decade ever
