  • sounds great man love that sounds

  • incredible tone and phrasing you are a god bro again you melted my face, i just cant get enough of your tone and skill jimi would be soohh proud!!

  • YOU ARE THE BEST GUITARIST ON THE TUBE . PERIOD

  • GUITAR LESSON PLEASE!

  • excellent tones, maybe a tad on the bright side but finding tubes as good as the ones made in the 60's is about impossible..was your vube before or after fuzz?

all in all? sounded like jimi to me. good playing man!

  • ummmm yeah... thats how it's done guys !!!!

  • i dig!

  • great playing; wish the video was clearer to follow!

  • i want a stratocaster so bad

    which one would you recommend?

i'd like to get either a black or a white with maple fret board

  • Great playing, more inspired than a lot of the covers of songs on YouTube. Yeah, the Berkeley Community Theater is the version I've always heard. I honestly never appreciated what this effect pedal does to a guitar. It's kind of like Ernie Isley with distortion through a flanger (Who's that lady?), but less compressed. Somebody told me Jimi got that wild stuttering effect on 'Hear my train' by moving his Univibe foot pedal into a rapid oscillating mode.

  • Killer tone. Now you just have to work on your vocals.

  • @TTmaniax That may be, but at least this guy is singing along! Most people only jam along, no vocals. Props to you Mr. JimiRayYng

  • Good fucking job man sounds good as fuck!!!! And as far as your tone....Its amazing man!!

  • superbly done. fantastic tone dude.

  • Sounds superb mate,!

  • I recon you could do the berkeley version,,The original video version is lost ,due to Michael Jeffrey's being an idiot !!

  • btw, hendrix was murdered

    5-stars

and a bag of razor blades and dog shit for this 1-star posters

  • Very nice

  • really nice stuff, congrats!

  • Awesome, bro, awesome! Congratulations from Brazil!

  • That's awesome stuff man.

  • so smooth, nice dude!!

  • Great cover keep it up! Nice to see that you have good voice as well as groovy guitar playing

  • Awesome! What effects / equipment are you using to get your tone? It sounds really accurate - well done!

  • Oh yeah that axis sounds identical to Hendrix's fuzz. I think the mayer fuzz's are way under rated for how incredible they sound. IN this vid did you go guitar-fuzz-vibe or guitar-vibe-fuzz? Thanks Zack

  • good playing

  • Not as technical as Hendrix's version, but I really enjoyed your take on it! Good stuff mate. 5*

  • not bad man; that tone is spot on

  • Wow. I listened to this over the original recording and just wow. Rock on man I love that Axis fuzz can't wait to get mine. Peace.

  • hey man you should be famouse, this is really good because it brings the hendrix style back, and not like anyone else way of doin it either, it's simply how hendrix plays guitar,, and thats awsesome man!!! go ahead and keep jammin like that and youll be jimi hendrix man!!! AWESOME!!!!! piece

  • very well done

  • this is amazin!

  • from are you have backing track ?

  • holy shit that tone is like dead on

  • Man I would have a field day if I only had that setup your on, sounds like my dream.

  • bookmarking this one. man, that was pretty frickin' cool,...

great tone on the screams,....wow, ...

do you tackle machine gun, especially the second slow part with a wah wah.

man, that was pretty damn good.

    thanx

  • nice man, what version were you playing

the one from blues or the woodstock version

  • are you using the voodoo lab micro vibe?

  • It the Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe.

Roger Mayer was jimi's effects guy from 1966 - 1969

He either built or modded all of jimi effects and amps for him

  • I mean that thing is kind of expensive would you suggest another pedal that does the same effect?

  • H&K Rotosphere, Fulltone Deja vibe, DSL Rotosim and Voodoo lab micro vibe. But I have no idea if they sound as good as the Voodoo Vibe..

  • hey man what spec (year) marshall is that? and is it superlead or bass,

  • Wow!

  • cool!!

  • That was awesome! Loved it, thanks for a great vid!

  • sorry man, is just an improv based on jimi's version

  • YOU ARE A SICK GUY .

  • cool!!!

  • Excellent!!!

    Great stuff and good feeling!

  • Awesome cover!!!!!!

  • not bad dude...

  • i don't know about folks saying that you aren't as good as jimi. seen a few videos where jimi isn't playin this good

  • Jimi, I been lookin at ALL of your vids. You have some talent boy. I am 58 years old, even got to see Hendrix live at his last show in Honolulu. He would be proud of you. You have captured some of his stuff well. I wish you would add a little more light to the fret board tho, so I could see what you are playing. Most of your vids are dark. Play on Man. Long live Jimi!

  • I forgot to ask you about your axis fuzz settings and guitar volume?

  • Really great playing and tone.

I could swear I hear Jimi playing.

What is you effects chain: fuzz before or after vibe?

  • i love that tone it's very close ,good job!

  • awesome!!!!!!!

  • great!!!

  • Did you see the rainbow bridge? Then you'll know that its not that version. The rainbow bridge version is a slow, very slow non distortion version.

  • yep, i meant the version on the soundtrack album. its different from the one in the film

the film was on maui i believe. the version on the soundtrack album is similar to this.

  • great job!!!!!!!

  • love the tempo

  • GREAT! I LOVE YOU!

  • REALLY REALLY great cover!

i think your cover is better than the original song, it's more... slowly and "cool"...

sorry i don't know how to explain it because i'm french so i'm a bit limited to speak (or write), but it's awesome, keep on bluesin' ;)

  • uhm, "better than original?" Im not sayin jimi is a god but he just coppied jimi hendrix playing, and jimi hendrix version is better in anyway.

But still its very good! Keep up!

  • where did you get the tab for this verison? i think it is a little more mellow than the others and better.

  • Man thanks for sharing this with me jimirayyng, you have nailed it,with feeling and that hendrix vibe, great playing, looking forward to hearing more from you.what type of guitar is that? and what amp and effects did you use?.peace man!

  • Thanks, The guitar is a fender stratocaster played through a voodoo vibe univibe. The amp is a mArshall Plexi 50 watt head going into

    a 4x12 marshall cab.

  • Man you nailed Jimi's tone and vibe on this one. Great job!

  • thanks man.

  • perfecto!!,what amp and effects did you use, what type of fender was that?

  • You were in the Zone on this song! Im recording this and putting it on my ipod. The solo you do at 2:30 has the blistering intensity of hendrix. You sound just like him man its amazing you nailed his sound keep it up.

  • some awesome playin dude...where do you have this backing track from?

  • great song and great play

  • Grazie mille!

  • great job my friend.

  • stunning. one of my favourite hendrix tracks ever. i love the woodstaock version too.

  • Have you got the tab for this?I don't have to much time to figure out what he's playing all by myself, and this seams to be pretty close...

  • share some of that tallent... and the tone too =)

  • ahhahaha no sorry this is your voice but u still aint playing

  • UR FAKING LIKE HELL !!!! this aint u playing this is jimi himself or u just got his voice but where are the drums i hear ... and the notes are different whit the sound

  • Man I take this as a complement. The drums you hear are a backing track i am playing along to(they are actaully a drum machine).

Thanks a lot fo rthe complement.

  • sorry dude you're wrong he is simply that good, the effects are absolutely spot on as is the playing.

  • Excellent job matey - keep rocking

  • Your kickin my ass with all this guitar ownage :(!

  • The Greatest sound I've ever heard!

    Perfect Jimi's Clone,excellent!

  • Many thanks, Jimi is my inspiration

  • Indeed.

    Me too.

jimi also had a supernatural sense.

His sounds came from another dimension.

  • Awesome job, Leslie! Dead-on tone and great personal take.

  • Thanks ed.

  • Great sounds man!

  • WOW!--Good Job...as always!

  • fucking perfect...this dude actually gives the jimi feel...hes not a stiff wannabe

  • Brilliant!!! 5/5

    Regards Mark

  • cheers Mark

  • Excellent!

  • you should be proud,nice

  • i agree wit stratbluesman:) this was AWE... SOME!!!!

  • excellent!!- perfect !!! superb !!! *****

  • Woooooosh, very good, you can do it perfectly!

Only when your voice was sometimes not as smooth as Jimi's, I could tell you from him.

And I like this carved wooden wall covering.

  • Great version, 5/5

  • good man!

  • That is a sweet voodoo strat, I am trying to get hold of one. Is the White reverse headstock one you sometimes use a voodoo as well ??

  • They are quite hard to get hold of I believe

  • The white strat I use is not a voodoo, its a custom shop reverse. I am after a Hendrix Signature strat left handed now. thanks for asking

  • amazing sound, closest to hendrix i have heard.

  • Very nice Bro, thanks for posting

    Peace and Happiness to you

  • Fuckin ace, man!!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

How do you learn songs because you always ace them.

  • Many thanks for that,

I usually learn them by ear, I may refer to a tab once in a while for the odd chord, but because jimi never played the songs the same way twice the tabs are usually not too accurate.

  • another impressive performance!thank for post it!!5 stars..what a beautiful tone!!

  • Thanks I am using the marshall plexi for this clip, it helps for the live hendrix tones

  • Well done! The tone is great. I know how hard it is to ace Jimi's tone.

    2:30 - 3:30 is awesome!

    Peace~

  • Thanks Man, You nail that tone on your clips as well.

  • oh yeah! i'm 6th!

    and yet again you rock!

  • this has to be the best so far, very hendrix influenced and you played with great tone and you sing pretty nice, hard to pull these effects off, but you did a brilliant job.

  • Thanks for that, The voodoo vibe helps, its built by roger mayer who used to modify or build jimi's effects for him right through his career.

  • Nice vibe man! Great playing and feeling =]

    Colin.

  • Thanks, glad you enjoyed.
