1. Sonic Team didn't create Sonic. Sega of America did. But, Sonic Team DOES make Sonic's games, although his games since going 3-D have been lackluster, to be honest.
1. The American-based comics--where BOTH Sally and Amy exist--have dictated that Sonic WILL end up with Sally in EVERY predictable future.
Oh, the good old days... I remember when I watched this cartoon on saturday mornings on the SBT (a Brazilian TV chanel)... Surely, it was fun, althought it wasn't canonical (for the more hardcore fans, this cartoon sucks), but I liked it.
Sonic made my childhood be a good one. Thank God that I wasn't born before Sonic. Thank Yuji Naka, for creating my favorite characters ever.

Actually, I believe that Sonic X takes after the video games. With the first story arch taking place during the time of Sonic Adventure GX, followed my Sonic Adventure Battle 2. Then i think it goes off into the manga universe

Tails was more of kid pre-Sonic 2, as he is depicted in this series, the scenery was inspired by the backgrounds of the game's "zones", and the Freedom Fighters--Sally included--were given life through the fact that their inspirations were the animals Sonic rescued in the first game.
Sonic: See? SatAM is based off of the classic games, whilst Sonic X is based on the post-Sonic Adventure games. Also, dating as far back as 1991 were conceptual designs for what would be Princess Sally, and the fact that SatAM aired five days before Sonic CD (which introduced us to a now-Sega owned Amy [because before 1993, she was owned by Japanese manga company, Shogakuken]) proves conclusively that Sally predated Amy.
Plus many of the game references in AOSTH weren't as accurate as those in SatAM. Casino Night and Chemical Plant look nothing like they do in the games, and the Buzz Bombers barely even resemble those in Sonic 1 compared to those in SatAM. The only two references that were correct were Robotnik's Egg-O-Matic and the Special Stage.
Yes, in fact, in this series; Robotnik is more accurate to his game counterpart. Granted, The SatAM Robotnik's design was vastly different from the original one used in the games and that he was more evil and dark; but at least was smart and a true evil genius like the Classic Robotnik. AOSTH Robotnik however, just didn't do that. (Don't get me wrong, I really like AOSTH, but it's not as great as SatAM and OVA IMHO.)
SonicTheJack: Odd. AoStH came before SatAM by a few days and yet, AoStH is based on the SECOND game, despite the fact that AoStH used PINK Sally in its final episode (Christmas Blast). Sonic Underground is NOTHING like a Sonic game. Where in a game do you have Sonic--and supposed siblings--searching for a parent whilst using music to defeat the villian? NOWHERE, that's where.
Well Knuckles, Angel Island and the Chaos Emeralds were put into Sonic Underground and all of those things were from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. So that's the close it can get really, not much compared to AOSTH & SatAM.
SonicTheJack: SatAM may have been developed conceptually first, but AoStH idea was pitched and bought first, followed by SatAM days later. Just 'cause it has SOME chars/elements in it doesn't mean it's emulating a game. I can get behind your support of SatAM being based on the first two games in terms of design & characterization (Tails' attitude cheifly [he would've become his little genius self in season 3]), but the overall premise of SU is nothing like the games at all.
Glordka: Actually, the comics were based off of this hence, why the first few issues were drawn in the style of pilot "Heads or Tails" (pink Sally, purple Rotor, etc.).

Yes they were, in the finally. I'm talking about in the show before Naugus. from the beginning. Ivo Robotniks eyes are red. and yes his arm, and ears apparently, are robotocized. See th comic before Sonic adventure came out.
Actually Robotnik, just like Bunnie, is only part robot. Also, notice how the mysterious eyes were connected, unlike Ixis'. These eyes could have belonged to Knuckles (doubt it) or Monkey Kahn (that's where I'd put my money).

2. SEGA (from Japan) created "Sonic Spinball", a Megadrive/Genesis game starring the SatAM cast that was inspired by SatAM episode, 'Game Guy'; "Sonic Mars" was originally to be the planned ultimate SatAM game, but the idea was scrapped (as the comics were essentially ruining the SatAM story)
Kawaii: Of course. They also approved the comics by Archie that still are produced to this day. But at the time of SatAM, the Japanese left America alone and didn't bother to try and merge ideas (like Archie's trying to do now by keeping the SatAM ideas that started the comics--SOA--but also including the ideas SOJ has used for most games post-Sonic Adventure).
As a result, SOA (America, in favor of Sally) and SOJ (Japanese, in favor of Amy) are splitting the fanbase just as they split SEGA apart, because originally, it was all one big corporate company, with Americans and Japanese working in synch. Now, they barely speak to each other and despite SOA's popularity, SOJ wants to make it seem as though SOA's heyday during the 90's never existed.
UG messed up Sonic's history (he was an only child, but UG gave him his future children---Sonia & Manik--as siblings), X has so much wrong with it (bad dubs aside...they place Sonic on Earth when in all other continuities he's from a land like Mobius, introduce unnecessary characters, make Robotnik/Eggman a joke, ruin relations [Sonic is no longer best buds with Tails], etc.), and AoStH was too Warner-esque to be believable.
I watched this show back in the day too but I disagree with some of you saying that sonic x isn't good. I actually think it's better than the old satam one, nostalgia aside. Oh I'm talking about the Japanese version of Sonic X, the English voices are pretty bad lol.

Yeah definitely the best all the other ones couldn't compete all the other ones were much more childish. Satam sonic had a better voice-overs, plot and great characters. And robotnik (back then he wasn't called Eggman back then) was pretty bad-ass and wasn't afraid to destroy anything in his way. I can keep on going but you get the idea.
Woot! ^_^ Yeah, some people say this is one of the best examples of a cartoon ever. ;) Well, in the Western world, lol. The Japanese make a lot of better stuff. Still, this SatAM is great!

Except character, almost every thing is changed.
AoStH, SatAM and Underground use another world setting, not used in game.
Sonic X & Soinc OVA are related original game.

I'm not sure what Underground is based on...
Sonic X I believe takes off the Manga though.

Well Knuckles, Angel Island and the Chaos Emeralds were put into Sonic Underground and all of those things were from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. So that's the close it can get really, not much compared to AOSTH & SatAM.

Also, AOSTH entered development a couple of days after Sonic 2's release where SatAM entered development before Sonic 2 was released.

SonicTheJack: SatAM may have been developed conceptually first, but AoStH idea was pitched and bought first, followed by SatAM days later. Just 'cause it has SOME chars/elements in it doesn't mean it's emulating a game. I can get behind your support of SatAM being based on the first two games in terms of design & characterization (Tails' attitude cheifly [he would've become his little genius self in season 3]), but the overall premise of SU is nothing like the games at all.

Glordka: Actually, the comics were based off of this hence, why the first few issues were drawn in the style of pilot "Heads or Tails" (pink Sally, purple Rotor, etc.).

this one was my favorite series, I liked it better than the original series when robutnic still had scratch and grounder, I like this one better b/c it had a more darker backdrop with the rebel concept

It's not stupid. It may be corny, yes, but not stupid. The red eyes are a symbol of evil, for which Robotnik--and eventually Naugus--stood for.

actually, in this robotnik was partially robotocized. hence, the red eyes. it's explained in the comics, which this is based on

Actually, the red eyes in the clifhanger belond to Ixis Nagus. Though Robotnik was roboticized as evidenced by his arm being robotic.

Yes they were, in the finally. I'm talking about in the show before Naugus. from the beginning. Ivo Robotniks eyes are red. and yes his arm, and ears apparently, are robotocized. See th comic before Sonic adventure came out.

Actually Robotnik, just like Bunnie, is only part robot. Also, notice how the mysterious eyes were connected, unlike Ixis'. These eyes could have belonged to Knuckles (doubt it) or Monkey Kahn (that's where I'd put my money).

1. The credits of this prove that SEGA (of America) funded this
2. SEGA (from Japan) created "Sonic Spinball", a Megadrive/Genesis game starring the SatAM cast that was inspired by SatAM episode, 'Game Guy'; "Sonic Mars" was originally to be the planned ultimate SatAM game, but the idea was scrapped (as the comics were essentially ruining the SatAM story)

Kawaii: Of course. They also approved the comics by Archie that still are produced to this day. But at the time of SatAM, the Japanese left America alone and didn't bother to try and merge ideas (like Archie's trying to do now by keeping the SatAM ideas that started the comics--SOA--but also including the ideas SOJ has used for most games post-Sonic Adventure).

As a result, SOA (America, in favor of Sally) and SOJ (Japanese, in favor of Amy) are splitting the fanbase just as they split SEGA apart, because originally, it was all one big corporate company, with Americans and Japanese working in synch. Now, they barely speak to each other and despite SOA's popularity, SOJ wants to make it seem as though SOA's heyday during the 90's never existed.

UG messed up Sonic's history (he was an only child, but UG gave him his future children---Sonia & Manik--as siblings), X has so much wrong with it (bad dubs aside...they place Sonic on Earth when in all other continuities he's from a land like Mobius, introduce unnecessary characters, make Robotnik/Eggman a joke, ruin relations [Sonic is no longer best buds with Tails], etc.), and AoStH was too Warner-esque to be believable.

I watched this show back in the day too but I disagree with some of you saying that sonic x isn't good. I actually think it's better than the old satam one, nostalgia aside. Oh I'm talking about the Japanese version of Sonic X, the English voices are pretty bad lol.

I mean, the characters of this sonic kick the fur clad buttocks of all characters in all other series. To be honest, the reason for its failure is one that dreamcast owners will know pretty well.
Lack of publicity. (In Sonic Satam's case, it wasn't well known because it was aired at 5AM IN THE FRICKIN' MORNING!)

Yeah definitely the best all the other ones couldn't compete all the other ones were much more childish. Satam sonic had a better voice-overs, plot and great characters. And robotnik (back then he wasn't called Eggman back then) was pretty bad-ass and wasn't afraid to destroy anything in his way. I can keep on going but you get the idea.
