only thing is,I"m getting some hum? never had that before in these amps.I Put my Pirahna ans GFX-1 preamp in the return effects loop and works fine with no hum.think it could be the preamp tubes?

@dewycatt2112 It could be.. It is could to have extra tubes so you change out one at a time to determine if it is the tubes. Make sure the bias is good on the power tubes.

@dewycatt2112 Very nice.. The 50 watt is plenty and about 95% as loud as the 100 watt. I just bought a Marshall Vintage Modern Combo 50 watt and it sounds awesome..

I'm running my guitar into a Tube Screamer with the Drive, Tone, Level at 75%. My marshall: Presence = 8, Bass = 6, Mid = 3, Treble = 8. Channel A, Crunch, Gain = 10. Deep & Tone Shift On..

Yeah, it has a floyd rose but is very unstable (goes out of tune). I'm going to install a tem-lock so I can at least dive bomb.

Yeah I have an Ibanez RG-270DX and it has a 'floyd rose' but it's not their sig. one it's like ibanez's cheap version that sucks...i can barely do anything with mine and it throws everything out of tune....super annoying.

I do this song too, and also have a DSL 100. What effect do you use in the effect loop ?

The DSL is really able to dial lots of tones. I use it to play AC/DC, but you use the same gear as I to nail the Van Halen tone. Way to go!

Thanks a lot. I'm still working to get my skills back from the 80's. I'm using the Ibanez TS9 (tube screamer)on the green channel on crunch. I love this amp!
