  • Well said estreetbill

  • Mr. King, I don't know if a matchbox could hold your clothes, but those two guitars sure held some magic. I honestly think that Albert King was in awe of Stevie's guitar playing. Shoot, who wasn't!

  • Love the song, great blues feel. Love the interaction between the two of them. Notice at :49 seconds, when Albert says "I remember them day real good" Stevie says " I KNOW" The funny thing is when Stevie was 9 years old, Albert was 40 years old. So, let's get real here for a minute. Albert was probably talking about the hard times he had trying to be a musican when he was about 30 years old. So how in the world would Stevie "KNOW"

  • Come on how is it possible to even dislike this video.

  • Forgot something here. Give a thumbs up to CHCH Tv's session players.

Laying down some sweet sounds for the King and the Kid

  • The King and the Kid. Pure freakin magic.

The Velvet Bulldozer laying it down as amazing as always.

Look at Stevie's face, it's like he all of a sudden realised he has axe in hand and jammin with his idol. The student doing the King proud.

  • cosmik learn a little history there's alot a great bluesmen

  • The Teacher and the very best Student in the school of blues. Their in class now playing for God. There is a very short list of great blues men.

  • ahahah Albert fait parle à Stevie au debut pour le destabiliser lol

  • super riff ça!!

  • I try not to copy Albert King directly. It's just too obvious and I think people will say "Hey, them's Albert King licks!". Somehow SRV got away with it, though.

  • Hearing Steve Ray play the guitar always send shivers down my spine.

  • These two men are responsible for me taking up the guitar and learning to play. I want to spread the knowledge that music should be about passion and less about making money.

  • i am only 23 i am a youngster but i love the blues bb king gary moore jimmy and also albert king etc my friends keep telling me i was born in the wrong era i love listen to old school music

  • @annitaDsieng

  • Jimi hendrix's sounds like this guy. Not the other way around :D

  • man this tune just give's me goose bumps stevie just nail's those lics and albert was just get blowen with a little awe but nothing really too blow him out of the water because after this is albert king and stevie was in his mid prime plays durning this recording may be if they got back together 4 years later from this date of this recording stevie prolly would have had some moves too blow king a way but i love the way stevie looks at albert king like a little kid in a candy shop egar to learn

  • THE BEST WONDERFOOL

  • Does anyone how stevie plays the lick from 2:48-2:51?! please respond!

  • @Sly6035 It's not anything out of the ordinary-I don't know what key it's in, but if you listen to the lick you can probably nail it, it's just bends and vibrato, no crazy techniques, pentatonic...

  • @pleasuremanning .. its all about the feeling that they are able to throw into it.

  • @pleasuremanning The Key of Blues!!!!!

  • Seeing this video makes me feel reborn again. Thank you Stevie and Albert. Simply sensational..

  • Albert !!!! HE IS MY HERO

Vaughan for me is the representation of the real kind of PSICODELIC

A guy from another world, floating on this illusory dimension on your own style , an style so free and deliberate ...

    Vaughan - Pure Freedom

    My gods for sure

  • ALBERT KING!!!! Any real bluesman knows who n where those licks originated from.

  • @jazzyfosho7 oh yeah broda

     !!! oh yeah !!!!!!!!

  • Gee thats really neat how Mr. King has picked up on Stevie's style, voicing and inflections on the guitar for the blues so fast.He must be a big fan of Stevie's to catch on so fast.I wonder what came first the chicken or the egg?

  • @LaniRockster Ha ha!

  • @LaniRockster Haha. Classic.

  • I've been watching this over and over again for almost 7 years now and it never gets old to me. Two of the Greats.

  • After listening to Stevie for nearly 30 years of my life I am still blown away by his gift for improvisation. Every aspect of his playing is top notch but his phrasing draws a limitless amount of variations from such a simple scale. He didn't run around like a speed king to show off, it always SOUNDED good and he knew exactly where he was at every moment. The man played guitar with his soul.

  • Ohh shittt. I own the audio CD of this but i never saw the video footage. this is a big moment for me.

  • anyone who misspells stevie ray's last name shouldn't be allowed to post videos of his music...it's spelled V-A-U-G-H-A-N!!!

  • @handsomerube Bah you got it wrong too, his name is spelled G-O-D!!!

  • @Pittmail88 haha...i stand corrected!

  • What an AMAZING groove this song has! ALBERT KING !!!!!!

  • theres a reason no one dislikes this

  • WOW

  • how to blow a racist pig's mind, show them one of the three kings...BB Albert or Fredie

  • This is whats missing in todays music.

Talent, soul, feel, emotion, real dues paid etc. etc..

  • @evh7775150 don't forget about fun. it's obvious albert & srv are enjoying playing together. there's no sense of anger, woe is me, or doom-n-gloom feel. notice the smiles and joy on their faces. i'd find it surprising if the listener doesn't automatically tap their foot & get in a good mood when watching this. i don't see/hear this in most of today's music.

  • I don't understand why the videos of Overall Junction, The Sky Is Crying and Ask Me No Questions didn't make it to the official DVD.

  • Master and student, So laid back, wonderful

  • Master and young pretender. Juat awesome

  • can anybody tell me what year this is from?

  • Comment removed

  • @ClassicRockfan79

I'd say 1989... Because their album together was release in the same year and not long after Albert King died, sadly....

  • @LoekSijbers It's from 1983. Part of a short lived "In Session" program that was meant to put people like this together and record them. There's lots of outtakes that weren't released that are worth looking up :)

  • I still love telling the story how I walked into Rasputin's Music in Berkley , Ca and I was trying to find a rare Stevie Ray CD for my brother. I couldn't locate him in Blues so I asked one of the blue dyed hair punks that work there if they had any SRS. He told me "yea, in the Rock section"....I told him Stevie Ray Vaughn is Blues....the kid looked at me funny and said "no he's rock"...I wanted to break his face but I remembered he's just a 3 chord aficionado what does he know about music

  • It's been a week, and I'm still listening to this track daily. It's like a crucial part of my life now. Stevie's solo is phenomenal. Albert's voice is as velvet as it ever was.

  • Albert wears the moustache like Hitler's )

  • Best electric blues collaboration of all time, and quite easily. I can't stop listening......

  • Oh my God!!! This is incredible!

  • why can`t anyone spell stevie`s last name properly..

  • Masters, Kings, Legends, RIP.

  • smoth ooooooo

  • this is still kickass about the 4:00 mark when SRV is wrapping up his solo and u wonder how hes gonna turn it around , then about 4:02-4:07 he nails it, and albert king cocks his head and grins and says, "Huh".....stevie laid it on ol' albert bigtime, and i love it......like Muddy Waters would say, "shit hell mutha fucka u got that one down"

  • does anyone know what key this is in?

  • @almister The key is A flat.

  • @trhnpc Actually the key is G. Stevie is in the A flat position to play in key with Albert since Stevie is tuned 1/2 step down.

  • @chillilover1 Sorry your right...... Stevie was tuned to E here.

  • @almister It's in Ab.

  • Two beautiful souls get together to make some beautiful music!

  • Whats the point of even commenting, No words are worthy.

  • @01hellfire Amen to that ! :D

  • @01hellfire

I would agree...but, i would have to say that the word 'imagine' may be appropriate, then fill in the blanks...for instance:

...imagine: anyone in that studio that day must have been shitting their pants...

  • @01hellfire glorious..smoooooth!

  • Hell yeah.
