Okay the graphics look nice, but the c64 game was programmed in less than 2 months and this version came out years after. Also the c64 Hubbard tune is unsurpassed. The only thing hating about the c64 version is the lack of all the levels!
My ears are fine. I was talking about having gunfire sound effects throughout the game, as it should be, not just at the end of some area. It's obvious, they traded some basic sound effects in the game in order to have impressive music. It's just my opinion, but I don't like the trade-off, no matter which system it's done on.
Yea, C64 has better audio... No gunfire sound at all, and strange sound effect for bombs. What kind of shooter has no sound for gunfire? If the Atari freed up the voice used for gunfire, do you think it could have used it to do a better version of the music track too? You bet!
The Commando version of Atari includes the 4 levels of Arcade game. And finishing that, there is another round of 4 additional levels. Total:8 levels. There are beginner, normal and expert mode. The best ported version.
The Viet Nam war played and sounded a lot better than this.

I do agree with comments, sounds to have better graphics but music is so awesome on C64!
