  • jackson browne's songs have kept me alive since the 70s! thank u for posting this rare clip!

  • This is one of those songs I listened to over & over & over again when I was younger. It brought me so much pure joy. It perfectly captures some of those most emotional moments in my life. It simply takes me back to a more innocent time in my life. I can't even imagine how it makes the songwriter feel. Jackson, you are the man.

  • I am more alive because Jackson is.

  • Amazing! JB playing slide guitar, a six string bass and a well tuned cardboard box, not to mention a fantastic song! Genious!

  • that bass playing is brilliant!

  • Not the first time he's recorded with a guy playing a box. 1978's "Running on Empty" featured "Nothing But Time", a great tune actually recorded on a tourbus with his drummer bangin on a cardboards box...

  • Jackson, you have long been one of the stars in my sky. By the way...how about the bass work in this? Also, not bad guitar for a man who plays piano. Love it...every single note and lyric.

  • @RefugeSailing Tell me if I'm wrong here. Isn't this the song he wrote about Daryl Hanah and his breakup with her. He kinda reclused out and this was his coming out song.

  • jazzkid Man you got THAT right. There is just something about this video. Jackson Browne nailed the dogshit out of this.

  • Damn..what a good writer!

  • Great song! The lyrics are profound...

  • I've heard this recording many times but never with video. It was astounding to see Jackson was the one playing slide as I always imagined it was Scott. Thanks for the post. I know they did a few more songs--any chance of seeing them?

  • incredible....

i luv the percussion in this.

this is my favorite version of this

    that ive heard!!

  • Does anyone know what tuning he is using here?

  • did this go out live or was it a sound check? I don't understand Dutch. It's a great acoustic effort of a classic.

  • This is not a sound check, the voice you're hearing in the beginning is from the host.

Jackson set a record that day: 2.5 hr rehearsing for 30 min. of music. To find a good balance between his voice, a gitar, bass, piano and......a box.

Great version, went to see him in Amsterdam this spring and it was GREAT!

  • thanks Kim for sharing this...I love it!!!
