  • rafisab duniyaaki ethnaa bedaasulthaan aur konn hi ? aap abi bi sulthaan hi sangheeth ki salaam saab aap ko duaa kareeghaa

  • Vow Great ,I like it too much

  • Brilliant! Simply Brilliant... Rafi is God's gift to India. Naushad is the jeweller who polished the gem and presented it to be beheld by the masses. Sometimes I wonder if were blessed to have talents as these. I have no words to describe the joy when I listen to songs such as these and I know the repeating the obvious as I say this.

  • love, love this song!!!!... it brings back memories of when I was growing up

  • nice voice who is da singer !!

  • I would love to DO her, but I think she's tooo old now, hmmm, gotta find out if she's got any great granddaughters. I " DO " um all.

  • I know there is another version of this song which does not start with akeli mat jayo and and ends with Rafi Lata singing simultaneously. If any friend have that version please upload. Thanks

  • TU GANGA KI MAUJ....MAIN JAMNA KA DHARA......

    greatest singer RAFI sab

  • lata jee rafi sab qiyamat tak is geet ko amar kar diya musik ko awaz ko tan sen ko .bejo ki rooh ko sare jehan ko... kiya boloon ...

  • old is gold

  • What a timeless beauty. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

And then one has to read all these comments, that in the face of beauty, the transcendent power of love, find reasons to perpetuate difference. I love old songs, and do not have much respect for what Bollywood produces now. But if there is one thing I have admired in Bollywood, it is how it has created an environment where talent can flourish irrespective of religion or region. That transcendence is our culture our gift. Cherish

  • A truly touching song and full of feelings. Plz guys don't mix the whole religious hatered with it. Lets grow above the abuse we through on each other, wether Muslim or Hindu or Christian or else.Love and Joy Do not discriminate on these bogus boundries, Lets pull down the pretentions that one is superior to other, its your respect for for a fellow human being which matters, not if you worship a muurti or a statue or an image. Think....!

  • @b3gregjockca U have certainly made ur point in a forcefull manner. And they call Indians rude & ill-mannered. Wonder where they get these silly ideas.

  • @b2gregjockca so a religion is all about-a kick me sign?

Some people say that we Hindus pray to idols because they see us in front of stone images.

Well i don't see any images when they pray, so are they praying to air? Are they Airlators?

They pray in front of a wall, are they praying to a wall? Wallators?

They go to mecca&go around a curtain-are they praying to a curtain?

Any muslim will say of course not. Well buddy, neither do we

We Hindus should not keep silent when someone mocks us

  • when i hear like this song i feel crying my heart melted......

  • Wah Wah Wah Wah Wah! What more can I say?

  • This is no more a song. It is a shrine. It is the foundation on which stand all the songs in Indian Cinema. Hail to all the people responsible for its making, not forgetting Rafi, the very voice of this foundation.

  • Very beautiful song. Rafi sahab was amazing. Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari looked fresh and young. Everything was excellent. Thanks alokshishir for this lovely song.

  • this song about love ... not hatred ... njoy

  • Very beautiful song

  • This a very very sweet song composed by Late Shree Naushad has taken me bak to 1952 Indore Holkar College I was so much enamoured by the Music of this Film that I cannot pen in wods. Simply superb ,Hevenly. Its boundless joy trangress any countries geographical boundries. Its Universal Song Sung melodiously by both Late Md rafiji & Bharat Ratna Lata Didiji.

  • @snbengeri

It brings backmemories! i studied in Gwalior and many of my mates were from Indore and i travelled to go to Mahu (spelt Mhow Ithink) three times an year to go home from hostel! Holkar college is THE institution in Indore It is a small world !The beauty of Bhairavi and naushad ji's chice of instrumentation and the chorus says it all!

  • I have rated this song as the best song ever sung in the Indian movies. It is in the raag Baharvi. Talat considered Rafi as the greatest singer Talat had ever heard and that such a singer will not be born again.

  • 'fivestarwarrior' God bless you...

Think about it, I am bloody born Indian, citizen of USA crying in 2011 about what the hell I miss - in my childhood my father bought the record of this film and I grew up absorbing all this music only to open my 'wound' after so many years. We are all f*cking misled in this world in search of 'authenticity'. Those in Hindustan who were able to burn their 'hearts' on Mina Kumarai in 1972 were fortunate - for the sheer force of truthfulness...

  • Music with a soul!

  • Rafi Sahab was a singer par excellence – he surpassed all the known playback singers with his outstanding ability to go into the soul of the song. Writers before me have commented that he actually enacted the songs and nothing could have been truer. This quality alone makes him unique in the large galaxy of some of the finest playback singers that our country has produced.

  • One of the best song sung by Rafi saheb, no one can sing this song even upto 25% of that of rafi saheb......u can notice the style of saying 'GANGA' in this song, nobody can imitate this style even in speaking 'GANGA' only.

  • exquisitely pleasing to the ears!

  • Goose bumps .. only Goose bumps ..

  • TO QUOTE A LYRIC FROM A SONG IN THIS MOVE TO ALL HATERS & EVIL MINDS>>>>

    Insaan bano, Kar lo bhalaiyee ka koyi kaam, Insaan Bano;

Duniya se chale jayo ge reha jayega bus naam!

Please listen to this song and learn before all you're left with is regrets!

IT'S A SAD WORLD WHERE PEOPLE PLACE MORE IMPORTANCE & LOOK AT RELIGION/CASTE/CREED BEFORE WHAT'S STARING THEM IN THE FACE ---- GOD'S CREATION..................A HUMAN BEING!

SURELY THAT IS ENOUGH INTRODUCTION BETWEEN TWO STRANGERS??

  • great song

  • Has anybody noticed at 2:32 to 2:36 a fly sits on right forearm of Meena Kumari walks down toward her elbow and then disappears. Can anybody tell where it is now!!!!Was it ever cast in any other movie???

  • What a song? Unbelieveable immortal song. Who can deny the combination of Lata Mangeshkar, Late Mohammad Rafi, Nausahd Sahib and Shakeel Badayuni. Such creations are eternal and will remain till the end of this world. By the way Alokshishir sahib do you the same song sung by Lata & Rafi. This was rerecorded after this sound track. It was marvellous. I bought this 45 rpm record in Karachi-Pakistan in 1964. Being honest I did not enjoy this original one. I hope you would not mind it.(23-01-2011)

  • timeless class and beauty

  • thumbs up to 5 star warrior......this world would be a better place if we all thought like that

  • Seems there is no ending for such buffering.

  • art has no religion, castes , creeds. any form of art. so all these talented people.. mehendi hassan, abida parwin, bhimsen joshi, moh. rafi, talat aziz, manna dey, noorjaha, nusrat fateh ali khan,n many more like them , teach us one great thing........ the immortality of love trough there music.so lets just enjoy there music keeping aside our differences.

  • Dear 5 *warrier: Thank you very much for having such universally aclaimed noble thoughts. I do not mind being called a Pakistani when I shed tears of utter bliss when I hear immortal ghazals/yesteryear songs of Mehdi Hassan, Talat Aziz, Nurjahan, Abida Parveen, Reshma etc. Incidentally I am almost 68 years old, born in Lahore, remember distinctly my house when I close my eyes and had lost everything, when marauding lumpens came & looted everything, including human dignity. Love begets love

  • Such a beautiful song only marred by buffering.

  • I wish Mr. would give me this song...it's may be just a song for the great singer like him but for many it's THE LIFE.

p.s. I think I could use same statement for many of his song...he was truly blessed with some magical voice. May Allah Bless him with Heaven.

  • One of the best love songs ever! Meena Kumari is beautiful and graceful beyond limits!

  • These songs bring closure all the human beings irrespective of caste, creed and it directly and deeply touch our heart and soul which is covered with hatred and malice towards each other and by listening to these songs all our hatred and malice melts and we learn to become human beings which no religion can teach.

  • This is my all-time most favorite song; I am a die-hard fan of Rafi Ji and Naushad Ji; if I were to choose which of their greatest songs is No. 1, I will choose Tu Ganga Ki as their best composition; and I have felt like that for the last many, many years; this song sounds like it came from heavens;

  • One of my Most favorite song ever

  • ACKNOWLEDGED AS ONE OF THE GEARTEST SONG EVER

WHO WOULD ARGUE WITH THIS SENTIMENTS

IT WILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME FOR ANOTHER MILLION OF YEARS

  • This is one of the best old songs I have heard.I become numb every time i hearthese lines"Duboge bhanwar me to doobne na denge, dube denge nayya tuujhe dhoondlenge".

I saw this film when I was 17 and now I'm 63. I still love these songs and the film is beautiful..

  • thanks bro im mir aqibb hassni by pakistan

  • rafi saheb at his best. this song has hypnotising effect. It depicts the time when love had its meaning and when you compare it with the events of your life it makes you feel good about yourself. The state of your life when you were committed to some one and for you she was everywhere in each milli second of you life. you could not give words to those moments but this great poet did. But this in any way doesnot undermine your love. Be proud that you loved somebody

  • this is probably the greatest song ever sung

  • lajwaab gaana.

  • bharat bhushan's acting was copied by so many leading stars of old days as well as to days.my all tribute to him.

  • Only Rafi Sahab, Naushad and Shakil combination can produce such everlasting songs full of inner feelings.....what a pity such legends are no longer with us may god bless them for creating such melody for us which we will cherish throughout our lives.

  • Rafi saab never died. He lives in our heart. His divine voice says us there is no religion of flower, music and god. All are eternal beauty.

  • Rafi sahab was really a legend

  • I do not know why some people are hell bound to make hateful political statements about Pakistan and India or Hindi and Urdu. Why can't we just get along. Please stop this hatred. It will not solve your problems. There is good and evil in all of us, the one you feed will win inside you.

  • hats off

  • Just Fantastic. Saw the movie in 1965 .What a movie and beautiful songs

  • Beautiful song. They do'nt make such songs anymore.

  • The supreme almighty created and everything and also a creature we call human. This creature created most evil weapon called RELIGION for it's existence while other living things like snakes evolved to develop venom.

  • @vidyasagars

Please dont insult snakes! they are simole creatures who are struggling to live bcos of human encroachment! theri habitat is threatened and their poison is the modification of their salivary glands and saliva! they developed venom to paralyse larger animals and then consume them for food when they are stunned due to the bite!Their venom is a defence and a very elegent wepon which took millions of years of evolution to develop! The MOST EVIL animal is Human beings!

  • fivestar: When you talk about respecting Rama and Jesus, now you are talking like a Hindu. Please don't take offense, but that is not what Islam teaches. "Ishwar, Allah Tere Naam" only a Hindu would say these words.

  • @ramaraksha01 Peace friend. There is a difference between respecting and worshipping. Regardless of whom you worship, you must still respect all... when you understand this life will be much more rewarding for you. I am not offended that you or anyone else might think I am Hindu... Are Hindu not human do they not bleed like me? I have a sworn brother who has stood by me as a real brother, such relationships go beyond mere dogma. Learn to get along and nothing can harm you.

  • @fivestarwarrior I am the one who says - Krishna is Rama is Durga is Jesus is Budha is Allah. Yes i am Hindu also & yes I do realise Hinduism teaches us to respect all. But would u respect a David Koresh? A Person who slept with children of his cult? There is a christian church whose priests "marry" young girls & throw out the young males. When do u say this is wrong?

Besides who good is a Religion if it does not stand up to a little criticism?

  • @fivestarwarrior there was quite a battle in california some time ago still going on - Hinduism depicted as backward & abusive. That is what will happen if we remain silent. U think u will be rewarded for good behaviour - i think differently. MF Husain depicts Hindu Gods in the nude, I don't have a problem with that - but he never paints other religious icons in the nude - why? He painted Hitler in the nude - what is he saying. Sometimes we have to speak up

  • One of teh best song sung by Rafi sahab in Bhairavi...

Rafi Sahab no doubt is the greatest Singer ever in the Hindi Cinema...

  • No one can beat Naushad & Rafi

  • Rafi sahab begins...where legends and genius ends.....he is The pinnacle of Indian playback singing.......

  • you are quite right.Indeed there is no match of Muhammad Raffi Sahib.

  • Many critics opine that the songs of this feature film springboard Mohd Rafi from an ordinary singer to the legendary status as a playback singer of Indian commercial cinema. The perfect range, synchronisation, consonance of voice with the classic melodies and reverberations which the late Mohd Rafi Sahab displayed by rendering his immortal voice for the songs of this movie is unparalleled and such heights have never ever been touched by any Indian playback singer ever since in their career.

  • I am Pakistani and from birth i was born Muslim and i love this song. who gives a damn what creed, country , race we come from this song is universally enjoyable.

I could have been born in any home and followed any creed, but one thing would have been the same...... humanity.

We are human, Allah, jesus, Ram all are mine, for i am human i am the voice that praises all and all will praise my voice.

Live and let live. Hatred gets no-where.love is eternal. May our brothers all see sense.

  • @fivestarwarrior The world needs more people like you, brother.

  • @fivestarwarrior I could not agree with you anymore.

  • @fivestarwarrior Great thought my brother. I am a Muslim born to a Muslim family but what is my contribution to that. If I was born in Hindu family I would be a Hindu. But what matters is how you understand life and closeness to Almighty doing the right thing. Understanding what every religion tell you. No religion I know of that tells you to hate. The Almighty bless all humanity because we are human above all religion.

  • @hunzukutz

I agree with you 100% if your are born of certain religion by birth you would staY THAT WAY most of your life but if you agree that they(every religion) have the same goals that is pray to the almighty that is universal prior to every religion that was on the books( for any religion nothing new) you would be more open and not rigid in your views

  • @hunzukutz way what a thought, may allah bless you, a secular hindu India.

  • @darbhangaboy There are millions of us who care about each other. Keep it up my brother, you are a diamond in the ruff. Wether Hindu or Muslim we are brothers.

  • @hunzukutz Golden words. May God bless you.

  • @fivestarwarrior Thank you brother. I am an Indian.

  • @fivestarwarrior u r right...very well and thoughtfully said ,peace

  • @fivestarwarrior your comment put a smile on my face

  • @tendollardreams Thankyou :) A smile is worth more than it's wieght in gold. A man ca travel a thousand mile for the sake of just a mere smile. So folks smile for it is easier to smile than frown.

  • beatifull song

  • In my book this song was the magnum opus of Rafi. He sang other innumerable songs but this one tops. His voice pleased millions on the Indian sub-continent. The great award was his universal recognition by all his fans the world over.

  • I fully agree. Rafi's career was built and extended on songs sang at that time, this one in particular. Very solid foundation.

  • There is something wrong with some pakistani's they don't seem to understand Indian values. I guess that is why their country is fucked up

  • same goes for some indians who doesn't want to recognize us and live in the past.

  • dude we don't care ....we don't want an inch of your fucked up country

  • than why don't you shut the fuck up and stop talking about us concentrate on ur fucking country.

  • Stupid ..........You should concentrate on begging for money from US ;) have fun with taliban too u guys need them and you deserve them

  • well, it seems like u have more updates about us than ur own country, y r u so interested in our matters, y can't u just mind ur own fucking business, don't reply back u r an idiot and i don't have time for you, fuck off

  • What a beautiful song.

  • akeli mat jaiyo

  • The power of music. The boat returns! :) Just brilliant.

  • I love this .... its a UNIQUE ...!!!

there ar`nt word to express feelings ..... its too sweet .

  • best song

  • These pakis are impossible such a sorry fith these guys have bile to swear at Kishore da who was yet another great jem of INDIAN film Industry. Mhd. Raffi was no doubt one of the best we had, but that does not mean Pakis get to post comments on both these you retard and your kind is fit to carry out blasts and spread terrorism. Hack Patooth

  • a beautiful duet picturised on immortal Meena Kumari

  • shameful YAAR :( u guys, STOP speaking such FOUL language in front of such a divine song!

  • classic sing of all times. the concept the expression and the presntation is also great. thanks for posting

  • Mohammad Rafi the greatest singer in the world ever. what a voice what control, what skill, what range, inimitable even today. Underrated by indian film industry who only awarded him a handful of awards and none posthumously. Just look at the shear number of difficult songs he sang. A pillar of the industry. They should mourn the loss of such talant every night and every day

  • awards do not justify Rafi's class.

The very fact that songs like these are immortal means that he is immortal, I personally thnk that the greatest award any artiste can get is the award of not being forgotten even after one's death.

Rafi won that award hand's down.

  • My Friend, the industry has never done anything good

Now it has become an attention whore by replacing good content with sex.

Always remember that award never makes any one better. I bet you there is talent no one brings up to the main stage because they know the consequences. that talent deserves to be hidden - because the industry would just sell it like clothing and anything else. And something like this can't be sold

  • Hey buddy, u r also 2711naheed, aren't u? You are going around saying the same thing in every one of ur comments.

Listen, there is no doubt about Shri Mhd. Rafi's greatness. He was & still is very highly respected as a musical legend. But don't make a god out of him, will u? And in any case, u aren't Indian, so u don't need to bother that much about how we treat him.

  • Guys please enjoy this and other Hindi/Urdu songs and music. Avoid the useless debate of whether it is pure Hindi or Urdu. Both languages are sweet on their own.

  • Thanks for being the voice of reason.

  • wow.....no words......sheer brilliance!!!!!

  • Urdu is name of civilization,

URDU has superiority over other langauges like Rose over other flowers.

Urdu ganga mayyia ka naam hay.

URDU IS WORLD MOST SWEET LANGAUGE.

    NO MUSIC WITHOUT URDU.

  • URDU is a mixture of Hindi,Arabic,Persian,Telugu,Marathi and little bit Kannada.Urdu language does not have any classical music krithis, bits and strings, the only advantage is easily mouldable thatsall. The greatest and sweetest language of all is Sanskrit which is godly language and mother of all dialects and languages in the world, other than that Telugu,Roman,Bengali(slightly) and Kannada are sweetest languages which is adjudjed by UNO.

  • Part 2

bhalaa kaise tootenge bandhan ye dil ke

bichhadatee naheen mauj se mauj mil ke

chhoopoge bhanwar mein to chhoopane naa denge

doobo denge naiyyaa, tumhe dhoondh lenge

    banaayenge hum banaayenge hum

banaayenge toofaan ko yek din kinaaraa

  • What Rafi?....say RAFI SAHAB please...

  • Rafi... The great singer... Thanks for the post..

  • mere fevarote songs mai ye ek hai ye pic maine 7 time dekha tha mai abhi 46 yrs ka hu

  • Not hands up.....but, hats off!!

  • Mohammad Rafi The greatest singer in the world EVER. What a voice, what range , what skill, what control, inimitable even today. A pillar of the indian film industry, however

vastly underrated by the indian film industry who only awarded him a handfull of awards.

They should mourn the loss of such talant every night and every day

  • the world most sweet langauge URDU, itself music, melody, romance, love, civilization, culture, history, manners, respect, emotion, sentiments, poetry, perfume, another name of URDU is also TAJMAHL. what a combination, great NAUSHAD+URDU+MUHAMMAD RAFI+DILEEP KUMAR(yousaf khan).
