*continued* but also because I was so scared, I could not go to sleep before the sun rose. I moved my x-box into the bedroom so that I could log onto ICQ and talk to some friends when I got to freaked out. It is to this day the most engaging gaming experinace I've ever had, and it always makes me a bit sad when I realize I will most likely never get to experiance someting quite like it ever again. I was a wreck after that weekend, but it was so worth it.

Silent Hill 2.... what a game. Or to me, it became more than a game, during one long weekend it became my entire existance, and it was one of the most disturbing and invigorating experiances of my life. I waited until my girlfriend was out of the house for the weekend, and I only played at night in an un-lit apartment, as I think that's the way any horror game or film should be experienced. And the fact that I did not stop playing until the sun rose was not only because the game was so good

Watching the beginning of this reminds me of the first time I ever watched SH2's intro cutscene.

Right away, even though there doesn't seem to be anything big going on, something just cuts right to your emotional core. Your full attention is grabbed and sustained, and the scene seems to reasonate in your mind even after it ends. You know some serious shit is about to go down.
