Well to me following tactic worked. When I quit and whenever I wanted to play, just created trial account, get into game for like 1 minute and notice what a shit game it is and exit game. Quitting wow totally is a hard process to some ppl and I think it's best made with little steps. For example if u happened to play 5 hours a day, promise urself next week u will only play max 4 hours /day, after that week only 3 hours / day etc. by little steps like this it's much much more easier to quit.

But about two years ago my family decided to move away from my friends in the city to a near isolated village in the country side. Change password - lost password feature

Deleting your characters doesnt matter. I quit and deleted ALL of my toons for 4 months, then called Blizzard tech support and they were able to bring them all back except the very lowest level ones. So that doesn't work.

One could just download game again, recover account, submit ticket to do a character restore on account (at least one's high level toons they always keep in backup even when user deleted) and you are back in the game!
