@carlindelco being a leader isnt the problem, its leading the pot smoking, welfare recieving hood rats thats the problem. the 1940s-50s was americas prime, and now, due to apathy and disgrace in our schools. the majority of the people in this country would rather get theirliving from welfare and unemployment than working hard to achieve something.

Thats true if you see pictures of surrendering German troops they have clean unsoiled uniforms the Officers and men are always looking there sharpest, they still march with pride and stood in formation, even in the POW camps they were always organized. If you compare them to the American troops you wouldnt know how they could have beat the Germans in the first plase. God bless the German Army.
I gave your statement a thumbs up, but you gotta realize that Europe traded one dictatorship, for another, first the Nazis then the Soviets, and, the Russians killed more people in the gulags, than Hitler could have imagined
One thing people dont know is after Hitler killed 6 million Jews Stalin killed 8 million Cozzaks and deported another 6 million for helping the Germans.
@BBQ666OFHELL Singing to this theme saying "twat twat, tww wwww wtwat wtwat" Mr bbq666ofhell that is the most stupidest thing for anyone to say, yes the nazis did do the gas chambers but really? have you not heard of stalin? go research him then come back :P
In 2 world wars, the Germans, except at Kaserine Pass, lost every single land engagement they had against the Americans.
American logistics were far better than German logistics. A soldier with a full belly. full gas tank, and a full carbine will usually defeat the guy with the empty belly, the empty gas tank, and the empty carbine.
American logistics were amazing. They had to bring their stuff across the ocean. Germans had supplies much closer by and still lost.
I understand where your coming from and also understand why you say these things so harshly. The Americans were good I know but the Germans were also good just not able to match American munitions output. I say this with only the intent to make people understand. Try going more resherch preferibly somthing not from the United States.
To say that in 2 world wars, the Germans did not defeat the Americans is a single land engagement (except for Kaserine Pass) is not based on just American research. It's a fact.
It is very common for non-Americans to denigrate the American soldier. Americans preferred to sacrifice equipment and material rather than men wherever possible. Some equate that to a lack of valor.
Americans had enough valor to defeat the Germans wherever they met them. That was all the valor they needed.
I understand your point, but what about OP. Market Garden, and Anzio, we almost lost that beach head, and there are other engagements that took place, but you got to give the Germans credit, they were fighting 3 huge armies at one time, and still held out for as long as they did, Im not taking their side, but it is kinda single minded, IMO, that people always put down our enemies,at least they wore uniforms, not like now u cant tell, tht was the last army we fought that wore uniforms
@paxtofettel but the forces that we are fighting now are not in uniforms. The Iraqi army was uniformed, but we didnt really have any major land engagement against them, they just turned tail and ran, which was smart since they knew they couldnt take us on.
@ww2man1939 well dude the insurgences and othe rpeople were fighting know kindof have a uniform because the were thoose man dresses towels on there heads and ak47s which means there organized i little bit but the us cn kick there but
@iceman82996 ok, I understand your point exactly, and I know without a doubt that we can and will eventually kick their asses, but the point I am trying to make about the whole uniform thing is this: the German Army was the sole enemy that the US fought in Europe, and they were all uniformed, now in Korea, the N Korean army had uniforms, but there were guerillas that didnt, same with Nam' and the same with both Iraq wars, and A-stan
As an American, that is not accurate. The Axis had many victories in Italy and North Africa....and technically, the initial offensive that led to the Battle of the Bulge was an overwhelming victory for the Germans.
As an American, I find it to be valuable to learn these lessons...so that I can lead troops in a manner that prevent similar issues.
And what is truly amazing about the American output was not only its quantity, but also its quality. Most (not all) American weapons were as good or better than German weaponry, to say nothing of the fact that Americans were about the best fed soldiers anywhere.
What is also amazing is that Americans had to bring all that stuff across the ocean against U Boats. Germans only had to transport their stuff by train.
Amateurs talk tactics. Professionals speak of logistics.
patton was one of the greatest generals in that war and american history. there is only a handful of generals like him in history. without him, we may never have won WW2 that quick, but unfortunatley, ike and the other allies didnt let him fight the russians, which we should have done.
WWII veterans are The Greatest Generation because the United States entered the War ONLY after U.S. assets were attacked by an hostile combatant. They truly were defending our nation. So don't go running them down because the United States was the last great hope for freedom in the world at that time.
Mrkaliman2000, seriously, you need to go back to school for your ignorance of history is appallingly limited. Those of us who are reasonably well educated know that America entered World War II in December 1941 and that such conflict continued on until late 1945.

so now I am the one who needs to read history books, hahaha, ask anyone oyutside your brainwashed low scholarship america about it, and you will hear what I said, americans didnt have a decisive participation, of course lots of americans died because their army sucked, but they waited untill russia defeated the german army and britain defeated the luftwaffe, your agresivity reflects your insecurity, wich reflects the bullshiet u live in, btw Im not from belarus, hahah u belive just anything
btw, free waorld my balls, thats the ultimate brainwash: when a system slave feels that he is free and with other owner he would not, the slave any powrful person wants that takes it all personal when it comes to nationalism, you people make me sad
and If I were you I would revise your statement that the U.S. Army sucked in WWII. The Russians lost how many? Around 8-10 million compared to the Germans which was around 3-4 million. You need to read some more history books
You say that we didnt attack the Germans until they were already beaten? Nov 8, 1942 the U.S. Army lands in North Africa to fight the Afrikakakorps, and the Italian Army(which wasnt that good but we still had to deal with them) 1943 U.S. Army land in Sicily then Italy, (we pleased the British by moving into Italy before France) then June 6 1944-D Day U.S. Army invades France. BTW while all this was going on dont forget about the Japanese we were fighting. You are wrong about America
Yes one thing you failed to mention that Stalin was begging the Allies to join in a 2nd front as early as Feb of 42. What good would have come by the US attacking Japan and leaving two allies to fight seperately against a very powerful Germany. The German could easily have defeated Russia or at least forged an uneasy truce therby knocking one of the allies out of the war. For great insight read Crusade in Europe. It was written soon after the war came to an end.
Stalin was a joke of a leader; I say he was in it for the power. He should have never mobilized against Poland and call a treaty with Germany and not think anything of it. I would assume his top "yes" men thought differently but were too scared to speak their minds because they would find themselves looking down at a shallow grave in some nameless forest in Russia.
Russia would have lost the war if America and Britain had not supplied the Kremlin with much needed war material through the Murmansk convoy system. As far as US involvement, lets see single handed defeated the japanese yup. Opened a second front which allowed the russian army to fight off the germans, yup. Let innocent polish die for political gain... nope that was the Russians. All in all i would say all 3 powers played a huge role. people who dismiss facts sadden me.
As far as the American army sucking... lets see Patton's third army covered more ground in WWII than almost any other. The 101st Airbourne fought off a superior German force for a week with little supplies and the US navy after being "crippled" at Pearl Harbor rebounded and obliterated the Japanese navy, ect. and so forth. Yup you are right US military was terrible... (Sarcasm) I guess thats what its called when a country does not needlessly sacrifice soldiers for no gain.
Almost over??? what ru smokin? u need to learn how to read so you can read history books. The war would have been over "for the free world" if America didn't enter the war!
You've got to be indulgent: Belarus is still a communist dictatorship, and the only history books they're allowed to read are Lenin's & Stalin's. This poor country's only radiance comes from radioactive pollution.
seems like the cost of fighting in tunisa was: 1800 yanks, but the war kept going, because ther is nothing in the USA Rockefeller cant move when it about getting more power.
1:00, that is an inflatable dummy Sherman tank that was used to fool German recon planes into thinking there was another army at Dover, they could collapse into a suitcase when deflated. Clever, if you ask me.
Quantitatively, yes, Washington has been permanently designated the highest rank to ever wear a US military uniform, though that in no way distinguishes him from proceeding military greats as a leader.
this is a GREAT rendition. who is the band/orchestra?
btw, the Texas A&M band uses the "Patton March" for their half time music and it's spectacular.
