That's the 1982 model, judging by the blue stripes running without interruption till the very tip of the nose, and by the Santal sponsor (in 1981 the same place was given to Pemex, sponsor brought in by 1981 pilot Rebaque). That car raced just the first races (only on slower tracks) of 1982 season (although at the very first one in Kyalami, fast course, they brought the BMW turbo engined BT50) and won the Monaco 1982 Grand Prix with Patrese at the wheel while Piquet was developping the BT50

Na verdade não foi o carro que ajudou o Piquet a ser campeão, foi o Piquet que ajudou o carro. Piquet foi um piloto-mecânico genial.

Actually it wasn't the car that helped Piquet to be World Champion, it was Piquet who helped the car. He was a genius!

Lovely car, though in my opinion, the 1992 Lotus 107 is a little more attractive.

Also, seeing Ricardo Zunino in the cockpit - you won't see that too often on videos!
