i am left handed, but when i started to play the guitar i didnt know there were also guitars for left handed people, so i started playing on a right handed guitar. do i have a big disadvantage now or is there no difference?

could you tell me how much should i practice in a single day...i have playing the electric guitar since about 1 year n can play nothing else matters,ironman,master of puppets(excluding the 2nd solo)etc ...i havent mastered the arpeggios yet (mini and major both) and still working on legato and tapping...

please tell the time for which i should practice and the schedule that i should follow on a daily basis(i.e. what techniques should i practice)...

practice as much as you can....

@rohanR21 You shouldn't bound yourself to a specific schedule. Practice as much as you can, but like almost every other guitar player, I recommend practicing your pentatonic scales, not just in one position of course but throughout the neck. It helps you get a feel of the fretboard as a whole. It also helps improve your ability to improvise as well. Also, another useful tool is to know your notes on the fretboard, you don't have to memorize them, just know them.

@rohanR21 Hello Rohan, I've been playing guitar professionally for some 35 years and teaching for about 20 years. I hope you will play/practice everyday for at least half and hour or so because you want to. Improvement stops the second you put it down. Make sense? As for guys getting hung up on modes and that friggin' "all important" minor pentatonic scale, okay, but that's not the scale to end all scales. Take something you just heard on the radio and work up playing the melody notes not chords

@nottubee yeah man...i'm not the kind of ones who usually gets hung up on scales,i play whatever sounds good to me...and i practice for about 1:30 hour everyday...but not at a stretch..20-25 min each time....is that gonna be ok????or should i practice at a stretch...

as the solo which james hetfield plays has many notes which are not in the Em pentatonic scale???
