  • I love John Cleese.

    I love Metallica.

This ad made me shit rainbows out of my eyes.

  • @85Aheadstix Dude, shut up. Metallica NEVER sold out, unlike Megadeth, whose sound completely changed for COMMERCIAL PURPOSES after Rust In Peace. You tell me 2 METALLICA albums that sound the same? Fans like you have been saying METALLICA sold out since the Kill 'Em All days, even during the Puppets era, so your comments now are as irrelevant as you are to the planet, pussfag dickhead. Fuck you.

  • @FatherStarr Dude, the fuck, no one thinks they sold out during Kill em all, I mean, they had like 4 songs before that, not much to go mainstream if you ask me. Also, The self-titled/black album was the first commercial breakthrough, doesn't that make it a sell-out band ? Note that I am a huge metallica fan, but you can't denie the facts. Also, megadeths drive for succes was fueled by Dave's anger to be better then metallica, and if metallica got succes mainstream, why wouldn't they

  • yummy james :P

  • Wonder how much they got paid to do that.

  • LOL that was very funny but what does james actually say at 0:21???

  • @MrDR7no "Show 'em."

  • thumbs up without even watching the whole video.

  • Metallica gave up any right to act like they might be cooler than John Cleese when they cut heir hair and opened up about James Hetfields stunted emotional growth.

  • in the begining i thought it said "metallica cheese commercial" and i was like WTF??

  • "It's me! :D"

  • XD even bob rocks in the vid

  • John Cleese was the only good thing about that video...

  • Q: How BOSS is John Cleese?

    A: VERY.

  • The internet was invented and Jason Newsted was in the band. These two pieces of evidence allow me to conclude that they were recording a shitty album.

  • @Ichiboy900 No, Kill 'Em All came out before Newsted and every other shitty album they did was post Newsted.

  • @monokhem I'm referring to Load and Reload. Really bad albums in my opinion. And if you're saying Kill'Em All was a shitty album then you are in a small minority, Kill'Em All kicked ass.

  • @Ichiboy900 Small minority where? Some basement where you and your friends go to learn Master of Puppets by rote? Out here in the rest of the world Kill 'Em All is unlistenable. No airplay, no one is putting it on at parties or doing music theory projects on it.

Hetfield hadn't learned how to sing yet, Hammet was doing a bad Mustain stooge, and all Lars knew how to do was be fast loud and Boring.

Burton was the only one who knew what he was doing and as usual they burried him in the mix.

  • @monokhem Not that it matters, but Jump in the Fire and Seek and Destroy are played all the time. But seriously, you don't like "The Four Horsemen"? That's one of Kirk's best solos. Not to mention the album set the stage for pretty much all of 80's thrash metal. Really I can't think of a bad song on there, every song had memorable riffs. I can't remember maybe 2 songs from Load or Reload.

  • @Ichiboy900 I'll take 2x4, Outlaw Torn, and King Nothing over anything off Kill 'Em All exept Anesthesia and that wasn't even the band. Kirks solos got much better when he was given time to express something in them exept a list of notes given to him by Hetfield.

"Memorable riffs"? If it isn't an irrepressable hook than it isn't worth mentioning. You must be a guitar player to ignore wholy incompetent singing, the world's worst lyrics, a horrible mix, and bad songwriting for "memorable riffs".

  • @monokhem "GIMME FUEL GIMME FAI GIMME ZABEZABAZAI". Those are the lyrics of a poet.

  • @Ichiboy900 I never said thier later lyrics were great. I said Kill 'Em All had the worst lyrics. That being said "give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire" Is poetic. It has a discernable and interesting meter, it rhyms; it expresses a basic component of will.

"Stabbing the harlot to pay for her sins

    Leaving the virgin

Suicide running as if it were free

    Ripping and tearing"

These might very well be the worst lyrics of all time.

  • @monokhem Actually, me and my friends listen to kill 'em all A LOT... and that is coming from people who mostly listen to classical music, avant-garde, and high production/technical/high virtuosity music (or at least having ONE of those components) - such as Atheist, later Arcturus, Opeth, Edge of Sanity et cetera.

Kill 'em all just has this enormously dirty/thrashy/badass quality about it that we enjoy immensely. It's certainly not something that should be overanalyzed. To each his own...

  • @rachskald "something that should be overanalyzed" = "something that doesn't stand up to analysis."

There certainly is a badness about it.

  • @monokhem You're quite an eloquent troll, but I'm done feeding you.

  • @rachskald I must be a troll for not liking Kill 'Em All. Make yourself feal better by name calling.

  • @monokhem I am fine with you not liking it, but you had already made your point - there was no need to hammer it in. Also, while I admit I don't understand what you find so terribly bad about it, I didn't see any reason to attack your opinion; I was only pointing out a factual error in your statement. Maybe calling you a troll was a bit too much, but something I wouldn't have done if you extended me the same courtesy... Ah, arguing over the internet and all that, you know? ;)

  • @rachskald If you pointed out a factual error I missed it in all the bragging about how impressive you think the music you listen to is.

Learning Classical Guitar doesn't make some one a Virtuoso either. Unless you are a big Stanly Jordon fan I doubt you are listening to any real Virtuoso's, just a buch of guys that were classicly trained and make it thier buisness to show that off.

I think Load is a blatantly supperior album to Kill 'Em All which is crap. I've explained why.

  • @monokhem You twist part of my words, misread another part, and misinterpret the remainder. And managed to throw in a little elitism and passive agressiveness in there for good measure too eh?

  • @rachskald Nope, sure didn't do any of that.

  • James looks soo epic, I seriously would love that same haircut and beard line XD

  • John Cleese > Metallica...

  • When was this? late 90's I assume since Jason is there :)

  • hitler much lol?

I mean St shitter?, and DM?, WORST ALBUMS EVER!

  • @85Aheadstix both N#1

  • @KillRideMasterAnd Both Number 1??, hahahah, just keep telling yourself that

    Metallica suck cock now!.

Im looking forward to their next dissapointing piece of shit excuse for an album next year.

  • St. Anger - First week sales of the album were 417,000 copies, and it debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, as well as 30 other countries in the world and dont even get me started with Death Magnetic. The album is also the band's fifth consecutive studio album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States, making Metallica the first band ever to do so.

WHAT MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO?

  • 0:23 give kirk some lotion and thats how he do it

  • @METALLICAFAN501 nono its bob rock :P this was recorded somtime when they were recording st.anger

  • @electro885 oh ok it kinda sounded like dave mustaine or sumthin idk watever lol

  • I don't intend to sound like a hater but at the time this ad came out on TV the world was abuzz with the "Metallica sold out" rhetoric when they got haircuts. I understood the haircuts and when the Napster Debocle reared it ugly head I understood Metallica's POV on that too, even the crap they fed us on VH1's Behind The Music was within tolerance, but after seeing this ad for the first time 10 years ago I was convinced, sell-outs. Been a "DIsgruntled Metallica Fan" ever since.

  • not now man!!!!!!! haha

  • i dont hear any 'I Disappear' in it

so more likely its a jam

  • unless you mean the intro

  • LMFAO! xD Hilarious!
