  • perfect tutorial i didnt have any problems! thank you!

  • connection timed out, how do i fix this? i am really sure that i have done all of this correctly. i have restarted the computer, and i have turned off the firewall and security program.

  • @mushroomHEADBANGERS Instead of using IE, how do you make Firefox use the SSH tunnel I made?

  • I have one question:

    - will this bypass routers with a vnc connection going on port 443? meaning if i installed a reverse connect vnc server onto my other pc on a different network, will i be able to use my vncviewer listener to get a good connection?

  • my router isnt in the port forward list.what do i do?

  • Comment removed

  • Never mind my comment

  • I need to have a static IP for this to work, correct?

  • i have a problem the login as doesnt pop up for some reason...i have checked that i set up the account properly...any ideas...?

  • Too bad, I don't know the router password... I was so excited to get this working. D; I tried all the default ones, but it's obviously been changed by the owner of the house. I want to ask him for it, but would that be considered rude?

  • Hearing that PuTTY doesn't need an actual installation completely turns me on, if you know what I mean.

  • is there any way to do it just through putty because my school wont run bat files just exes

  • @eclair4151 i would think so. google that shit up.

  • Bypass ANY Firewall/Hide Traffic - SSH (Part 1 of 2) watched it and have done it right "conecting ...pla..pla ..successfully" but the "port fowrding" thing is for those who have home newtwork where they can access thier own modem but i live in the uni's campuse. is there anyway to play HON? so basically i can not fword the port 443 coz i live in the cumpus. amazingly Hot Spot Shiled can do it but ill have lag and delay. however nowdays i can not use HSS anymore coz it gives me high pingslike500+

  • So I am guessing I need a router for all of this to work?

  • Wow this guy would be the meanest and toughest school computer admin ever!

  • Works after win firewall is also configured, makes sense, might want to add it as a comment haha XD

  • Sorry it posted before I could give an explanation, Putty gave me the error below =(, I port forwarded on the router though =S, will try windows firewall

  • Network error: Connection timed out

  • I got the error: connection refused ... when i clicked the batch file ... i dont know how it is being refused ... but i need help

  • Does this work for wireless??

  • can u make this tunnel run through multiple tunnels?

  • I am a novice high school student and I followed all these steps, and got my SSH tunnel working. I was surprised that it worked quite honestly. Thanks!

Haha school can never stop my love with minecraft!

  • The information you have is very helpful. But might I suggest you delete your temp internet files/history before recording a tutorial. At 2:05/2:06 your dirty little secret is shown. ;-)

  • mine says network error: connection timed out

  • How can I restrict any users from running commands? Like 'shutdown -r', etc. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit OS, and I just have 1 user you can log in with.

  • @CBDash Since you've taken the time to comment here, on my channel, and PM me you'll see a response to your inquiry in your Inbox.

  • @mushroomHEADBANGERS Haha sorry about that. I just wanted to be sure you received my question, seeing how you have a lot of people needing your help as well. I responded back to your message you sent to me, in need of further help. Will be waiting for your reply. Thanks for all your help.

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial!

No more dealing with that Websense at work.

  • Do i need to keep the first system on for this to work?? i am guessing yes but i am still hoping.

  • @TheDashhhh Yes you do.

  • I wonder the following thing, if you're saying about to configure SSH tunneling inside some company LAN, how do you get access to default router configuration to set IP forwarding?

  • @kharnam You can't. Also what would be the point? You want to tunnel OUT of the Company LAN TO your own private LAN, thus bypassing any restrictions the company has set up.

  • Amazing Video. I am on my school network and they asked for my IP address in order to connect me. Now that I am connected i am not able to access some website like torrentz. well, can I follow this method to access these websites. One more thing, I don't know what kind of router the school is using.....

i hope i can do so.

  • ow ya btw also what can i do if i dont have the password for the firewall?

  • Does this also works with mmo's? world of warcraft and others?

  • What is wrong with using port 22? Port 443 is refusing my conncetion but port 22 seemed to work fine, the only reason I am setting this up is to be able to access social sites such as Facebook while over seas in countries such as China who do not allow such access. Is there a problem if I use port 22 to connect to my home network?

  • @crazyo90 Absolutely not. Port 22 will work just fine. The reason I used port 443 is because it's a reputable Secured port for VPN and so forth. A lot of major company networks will have this port open because of this. Plus secured encrypted traffic running through that port would seem suspicious. By all means though, go with whatever port works best for you :)

  • @mushroomHEADBANGERS i dont have a rounter its just simple modem, how do i forward the port???

  • @polzowatel Port forwarding lets traffic sent to your external IP (which is the modem) be redirected to a computer one a LAN. if you're directly connected to the modem there is no need to redirect any traffic. In other words. If your connected your modem with a wire, forget all about port forwarding (im assuming you mean a broad band modem and not some dial up connection through a usb port)

  • @blacksiddis oh yes thanks, so when i do all that what will i be able to do? hack someone? how? :/ i do know how to get ip's of targets, my gf for example dumped me and i have the data what can i do with it now though

  • @polzowatel I think you are trying to run before you can crawl. SSH bypasses any firewalls or other restrictions on a LAN, and you can access your files remotely through an encrypted connection.

  • I followed the instructions and i am fairly computer literate but i get the error 1067 saying the process was unexpectedly terminated when doing net start openssh. i allowed full permission for me and admin

    thanks

  • @Pedwily Have you tried restarting the system and starting the service again? I've encountered this error before and that normally does it.

  • I've downloaded PuTTYPortable and installed it on my USB key so I can have access to my computer from everywhere without letting any trace. However, when I start the batch file PuTTY doesn't doesn't show the line "'Login as:" and I can't write anything in the window. Any idea about what I'm doing wrong?

  • @ZougTheBest Does it simply hang there and never drop out with an error? Download/Copy the Putty executable to your local hard-drive and try running it. I suggest downloading the simple Putty.exe fresh. If it functions then you know it's a software issue, if it doesn't then it'd be an issue with either the system or SSH Server. I'm more inclined to think it's a software issue. Sometimes applications need to be ran locally on the hard-drive to function properly.

  • hey do you know of any good tutorials on how to connect to a tunnel with a mac? I only need to connect with a mac, I'm going to be setting up the tunnel server with my pc running vista

  • @mastermind455 PuTTY is available for the Mac OS actually. You can follow the same steps but just use the Mac version of PuTTY.

  • um hey , i justed wanted to ask u. when i put the static ip address in the search bar nothin happens the box doesnt apear so wat should i do? plz help

  • @extreamspirit77 Not sure what you're saying. Do you mean accessing the router? You'll put the gateway IP (Your router's IP) in the URL Address field, not your static IP.

  • hi how it can be helpfull for me in gaming ? man . Can u asnwer this question plz ?

  • @daniel224443 It won't....It will just make you lag :P I use it for online gaming within a Web-Browser but for any serious kind of gaming the only thing it will do for you is show the SSH Server IP.

  • Alright I did everything right, although when I click on the batch file "SSH.bat" it takes a second or two then it gives me a PuTTY Fatal Error dialog box that says "Network Error: Connection Refused." Any suggestions to get the login screen to work?

NOTE: I am attempting to connect to the SSH Server from the same machine (my home system), not sure if that information helps or not. My ultimate goal when I get this working is to run it through my BitTorrent client on said machine.

  • @viperpulse Verify that the service is started. If it is restart the SSH service. Also, verify that and Firewalls or AV's are disabled (At least during testing), static IP,config files, and router settings are correctly applied, and be sure to do a reboot after the installation.

  • Awesome vids like always, looking forward to many more like these!!

  • Did exactly as you said in this, trying to connect from work->home. I turned off blocking on port 443 as well on my firewall and router.

    I get the error message:

ssh: connect to host xxxxxxx port 443: Connection refused

Could my work be blocking outgoing on all ports or something?

  • Sorry for the delay. I never got a notification for this comment. The best way to determine if the issue is local on the SSH server or with the port is by trying to SSH Tunnel while on the SSH Server. So on your home system attempt to connect the SSH Server (The same system). If the connection goes through then Port 443 maybe blocked and you should try using Port 80 instead. If it doesn't work trying disabling your A/V or anything else that my interfere.

  • @wizzoo22 Assuming the proper ports are forwarded on your home firewall, you have a static IP setup, and have followed all the steps outlined correctly then it's logical to assume the port block is coming from your work. However, you can still connect by using a different port like 22 or 80. This, of course, will need to be reflect not only in the configuration files but also PuTTY and your router.

  • I haven't tryed the second thing I said I had no need and any way depending on what comp I'm on in the school it wouldent work because the computer downlode the user profile frome the one main computer when u sighn in so it's not actuy on the actual comp and if we were in computer class she can see what we are doing so

  • Lol....Gotcha buddy ;)

  • great man, but here in Punxsutawney we use Macintosh in school...

    Have any ideas for that?

    any help appreciated

  • Yup. I actually made a comment below regarding that. I'll just copy and paste what I said for your convenience:

    "

I don't use a Mac (For obvious reasons) but from a quick search I found two possible work-arounds:

1 - Do a search for JellyfiSSH. It's a Mac OS compatible SSH Client.

2 - Use the integrated SSH function within the Mac. Launch the Terminal and type ssh [address] -l [login name]

    "

  • Yea or I could of just used the cmd in the student account to change the pass word on the teacher or make the student account an admin so yea the schools don't think some of us are smart enuph to do thus stuff

  • Are you referring to Net User? If your admin is as stupid as he/she sounds then I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't blocked but most networks block it.

I kind of question your capabilities though. You say you change the password of a Teachers account through CMD? Doing so would only change the local profile login of the credentials if any, not the login on the domain server. The local profile is synchronized/authenticated with the network profile which is configured with Active Directory.

  • If the local profile comes out of Synch with the network profile they can simply login with their same network profile password to re-sync it (Or lock then unlock). However, if you try to login while on the domain server with a different local password then that specified on the network profile it won't allow access. If you change it while logged in to something different you won't be able to access intranet resources without re-syncing or re-authenticating.

  • i usually don't need anything this advanced to say go on websites because the proxies the schools set up are simple to get past. i just find the ip address of the site i want to open and type it into the browser and then the site opens. in some cases cmd is blocked but notepad is not so just make the batch file for cmd and then when cmd pops up type in "ping" and the name of the site and you get the ip address so im done.

  • Sounds like the network admin there is lacking in knowledge. A lot of proxies are blocked and also proxies have a lot of limitations. This method essentially allows you to have all the freedom at any remote location as you would at your home computer.

A URL is resolved to an IP anyways so your school restriction policy sounds embarrassingly weak.

  • Use a proxy...?

    (Or VPN)

  • My School uses Macs (bummer) so is there a version of putty for mac? or what would be the equivalent hopefully with no installation thanks.

  • Hello i have followed all your steps and didnt get any errors until the point we got to log in. i did the batch file and the putty window opens but freezes and like 30 seconds after it says server timed out... do you have any idea what my problem is and how i can fix it please?

  • This occurs before you are prompted to login?

    - Ensure the SSH Computer is On.

    - Verify that the Open SSH Service is running.

    - Check that the port is properly forwarded on the router with the SSH Server on it.

    - Make sure no Local or Router Firewall is blocking the connection.

  • hi dude can u make a video to bypass firewalls by dns tunneling ? :D

  • I haven't actually had a need to try that out yet since I'm generally using my home computer, a virtual machine, a client computer, or my work computer. I'll look into it though. I plan on getting more mobile and practicing some Wardriving in the upcoming weeks at a Coffee Shop. I might give that try then :)

  • were did you get the "8080" from..? would mine be the same as that? if so.. why does it say when i run the "SSH.bat" file it says; Network error: Connection timed out. :/?

  • Yes, 8080 will be the same for you. The error you get could mean a lot of things. Ensure the Open SSH Service is running on your host computer, ensure you probably forwarded the port, verify you have no local firewall or router firewall blocking the connection. It's best to completely disable your Anti-Virus and Firewall and test to determine if it's causing an issue.

  • well. i did this and folllowed your directions to the syllable. and my putty claims to have a fatal error in which the " Server unexpectedly closed networl connection" help?

  • Do you local A/V or Firewall on the SSH Server?

Is your SSH Server a 64-Bit OS?

Are you an administrator on the SSH Server?

What OS are you using on your SSH Server?

  • 5* !!!

Someone should make a written guide. . . If I find the time, I'll get to it...

If someone sent a document to you, mH, is there a way you could add a link to it? That would be nice.

  • Artifice1112 suggested I add text-based tutorials on my web-site. I am debating on doing so. I'll keep your name in mind though as I am sure I may need a couple moderators at this point :)

  • Godlike!!! Thanks for creating all this videos, your videos is not just educational but also fun. The videos you make are top notch but yet easy to follow, you make impossible things for us possible!!! And again you're Godlike and much respect!!! - By the way if you do have plans for making a website you can count me in for any kind of support!!!

  • Wow, thank you! That's a really kind comment. I am more of a programmer then designer. Do you have any web-design experience? I probably would just use a template if anything or maybe a forums. I have two forums already setup on my hosting but their private :P

  • You should consider setting up a site with written tutorials to go along with these videos... You can't find these kind of things explained well anywhere.

  • Good point. I have a web-site already, I suppose I could add a tutorial section to it. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • By the way create a back up video..

    you know what i mean!!!

  • Haha! Yes, I do. I've learned to not delete my rendered finals. I actually got a Revenue Sharing invite for my Tickle War video and thought that I'd give it a try since I own rights to everything used/referenced in that video but it still go turned down because it was not , "Family Friendly". I have a feeling the excessive swearing and racist term that slipped out was the reasoning.

However, I made sure I had a backup of that video in-case they decide to take it down two weeks down the road :P

  • youtube needs to get a girl

because after some deep consideration i came to down to a conclusion..

Youtube feels something about your girl and the way you tickle:P

  • Haha, you may be onto something Valcamas. I can't blame them for wanting her :P

  • hahaha..

by the way if someone types h(t)tp(s)(:)//

without the brackets and post the site he can bypass school network:P

  • Really? I would think that a public web-site that does not support a Secured-Connection would revert the HT TPS (Port 443) to HT TP (Port 80) since the web-master would need to create SSL Certificates (Along with CSR and CRT) on the web-server to create a secured connection on Port 443. Without this no secure connection could be established and it would remain on Port 80.

I was literally just messing with setting up SSL on my web-hosting this morning which is why I am surprised by your comment

  • you keep on forgetting something;P..

Greek school is Greek school:P also, i guess that they must

have some sort of a list of blocked pages because when i try piratbay the site wont open and the screen will display something like the school network has disabled this page because the site is not "something i cant remember" . also the schools network is supported by a site (or a server,i dont know)called Ypeth..this Ypeth is the one blocking access. am i gonna deal with any problems if i continue?

  • Greek, Russia, America, etc...the standard remains. Have you actually tried the above tutorial yet?

  • not yet.. i haven't faced any problem yet..

but i got a question.. i told you that i am doing the htt(p)(s) method.. you mention that the connection is not safe if i do it my way.. can the school of greece spot that i am on piratbay for example because i am from the few students who do something like that?? or even better..Do they spot me when i do it??

  • To avoid beating around the bush...

    Yes and Yes.

  • i guess its high time to try AND this tutorial of yours.:P

will this help me bypass it unspotted or

next monday my teacher will rape me?:P

by the way, about the htt(ps) do they get something like a red line which specifies from which school and from where exactly the pupil is misbehaving?:P

  • This will encrypt your traffic so it can not be seen. So you'll bypass unspotted.

The last statement, I can't provide an accurate response due to your region and unknown circumstances.

  • thanks a lot for your time Cj, i got the picture:)

i will give it a try when my prof starts

    messing with me..

  • Very good!

I don't use Windows, I use Ubuntu Linux. I already had SSH installed but I was able to follow what you were doing. Obviously easier if you are in Linux in the first place then you don't need a program to mimic Linux. :-)

I don't know what the Linux equivalent to proxycap is though.

  • Yea, using Linux definitely simplifies things rather then having to use an emulated Linux API to run ported Linux apps.

I'm not sure if Proxycap is needed on Linux though. Proxycap is only needed to bypass the default behavior of Flash-Based games which don't follow proxy settings. This is because it utilized Windows PE and sockets. With Linux it may not function the same. Never know until you try!

    Thanks for commenting :D

  • Cj you bastard you always leave me like wow ..

  • lol i know right?! he is definitely one beastly computer whiz

  • You both are to kind :P

    Thank you! *Bows*

  • yes he is:P

    bastard(H)

  • This is really good and great to know thanks for posting. One question. Is there anything stopping someone linking to one computer though ssh then linking to another and another and another... kinda hiding and distancing yourself from things you may not want the authoritys to know? Lol. I'm really interested in I.P's and how

  • The SSH Tunnel is already secured. It's kind of pointless but I'm sure it possible. Use the normal SSH Server to SSH Tunnel into another SSH Server and then tunnel into the first SSH Server.

  • seemed so much easier when you were just doing that through my computer hahahah.

  • Lol, well that's because I had everything already setup and configured. I just needed to verify that it worked.

  • nice vid man 5 stars keep it up

    xD

  • Thank you:)

  • Every time I see you put out a new video I look forward to learning something new. Thanks once again.

  • No problem Artifice! I'm glad your so interested in the pursuit of knowledge and I'm also glad I can assist you in the journey :)

  • Qucik quest

  • @SuperKinkyMonster I have a question. It's a bit long to type in here. Do you have AIM?

  • Check your profile for a comment I left you in regards to that.

  • You're a genius. Simple as that.

  • I don't know about that but I appreciate the compliment regardless :)

  • <3 i love you

  • <3 I love you.
