  • You dont have a soul if u didnt cry at this part. Its so emotional, almost compared to mgs3 last scene in emotions.

  • Just playing this game right now , and just had the cutscene. Yep... did make me cry, having kids probably made me more emotional about it compared if I had played the game before having them. I'd probably been sad but not cried. I could not retain my tears. First time ever a game does that to me. And I have played many...I'm 36

  • so the child of two immortals is... mortal THAT makes sense, almost as much as Aeris being immune to Pheonix Downs.

  • @pdraggy

Just in case you weren't joking...they're immortal because they were born in another world. Time runs differently there. Their child, however, was born in this world which makes her age and die normally. Makes perfect sense when you think about it in terms of a fictional work.

  • I didn't cry. But damn, I'd be a liar if I said this didn't tug at my heart and made me stop playing for a while

  • I think what really got me in this part was Cooke and Mack. With Cooke calling and calling for Lirum to stay conscious and then Mack's super scream after that was just...so sad and filled with such pain.

This is one of the best scenes in the game.

  • can we get the Last Story

  • I did see the cutscene here, and then I got the game and saw it again on the big screen. Jeepers, I am normally not an emotional guy, but this scene had ME shed a tear or two. By far one of the saddest scenes in any video game to date (aside from Dom's death in Gears 3, that one was also moving) it was so well done, it was amazing. Without a doubt this game captured human emotional drama right on the frigging money.

  • @Keshin007 Very true indeed...

  • Can't... stop... crying...

This is where the heart and soul of Final Fantasy's former creators went. This game is such a masterpiece.

  • this game has got soul, i swear they should do a number 2 or do some thing to bring it back to our screen :D maybe a film :D

  • I was so sad when this happened. Truly emotional storytelling in a video game

  • Kaim's cute when he cries

  • God....dammit.

Damn that fucking sucks, he thought his daughter was dead for so long, finally finds her, only to watch her die again.

God damn I can't even describe....

  • i miss this game it was a good one

  • I've played through this part 3 times and I tear up every time, no one should ever have to watch their child die... And the kids crying? It reminds me of working in hospital... Definitely the best emotional scene in a game ever.

  • Just saw this a little over an hour ago in the game. It was beautiful. It was hard not to cry. The writers are brilliant the animators pulled off the emotions wonderfully.<3

  • im no homo, but I got a tear.

  • I cried like a baby during this.

  • Oh man, i have to finish this game....why do I neglect this for black ops!

  • Bruh, this literally makes me tear up every time I see it.

  • I've never played this game, and I've never thought that you can think of deaths in games as sad unless you have attachment to the characters, but I'm holding back tears while watching this. Jeez!

  • @QuietCannon And this is essentialy the first time you see Lirum in the game. I don't have a clue how they managed to create so much emotion in such a scene. The whole game is incredible and definatley deserved a lot more attention.

  • I immediately recognise the voice of the child as the same person that voices Phil and Lil from Rugrats.

    Cannot unhear.

  • @ProtoKun7 Holy cow you mean Kathe Souche. She voiced in alot of Kids TV shows.

  • i am 27 year old dude who has played many video games but this is the

number one most epic sad emotional scene ever in a video game

    nearly bought me to tears

  • this game because it happened to be Xbox360 exclusive and didnt have Final Fantasy name on it....well too bad for them, because they missed one of the best (and underrated) games of this console generation....I'm just pissed off that because LO didnt sell that much, there is never going to be sequel either =(....or maybe that is good thing, atleast LO wont go downhill like Final Fantasy has.

  • The moment I first saw and heard the voice-acting and dialoge of FFXIII, I just knew that the game was going to suck! I kept telling people how Lost Odyssey was so better game, but no-one fucking listened...

Lost Odyssey actually manages to be touching and sad, while in FFXIII the dialoge and voice-acting are just so melodramatic and overdone, that they are just ridicilous....and that makes the characters fucking irritating...none of those problems were in Lost Odyssey, and yet people dismissed

  • gahh i bawled at this scene T.T

  • I actually laughed at this scene, if I'm being honest. It reminded me of a cheesy soap opera.

  • I wasn't expecting an emotional scene like this when I played a few hours of Lost Odyssey last night. I nearly cried like hell when I saw this cut scene l: /

This is a real FF title. Final Fantasy: Lost Odyssey. Thank god I purchased Xbox 360 Slim last month's boxing day sale just for this game:]

  • @Keshin007 I have to agree...Final Fantasy 13 has scenes that force the players to feel sad, but instead of feeling sad it was just BLEH...BORING.

Lost Odyssey is the true FINAL FANTASY

  • damn i was so close to crying holy fuck

  • Lost Odyssey. The only game that ever made me cry. Whoever doesn't cry, or doesn't even feels like crying after watching this has no soul. Just kidding. But seriously, if this doesn't make you cry... WOW.

  • right firstly i shall say i love this scene and i love this game and when you play the game it has that kinda final fantasy feeling (people will understand what i mean even if i cannot explain it well) but i want to point out to everyone the ONLY person invovled in making this from the final fantasy staff was the music producer who's name i can rmemeber but not spell which i'm sad about but.. what can ya do it's late

  • @dc1842

Actually, Uematsu(music producer) isn't the only staff from the Final Fantasy series who worked on this game. The man at the helm of this game(Sakaguchi) also created the Final Fantasy series. I believe there are other staffs from the FF series involved as well. They all left SquareEnix when Sakaguchi left and formed the company Mistwalker. LO does have the Final Fantasy feel to it but I'm not surprised. Great game, comparable to the best Final Fantasy games, if not better.

  • Voici le vrai FF point à la ligne !

  • bloody hell, cried again.

  • Comment removed

  • I actually laughed at the scene...when the kids started screaming, I just could not contain my laughter. Sorry, but it was funny!

  • The part where mac yells at the end is heartbreaking.

  • I'm playing the game right now, and i just finished to watch this scene on the game , and i was liek OMG!!!! i had to watch it again somewhere so i took a look at youtube and i just want to say that i LOVE this game !

  • You have to remember brother...this was basically a Final Fantasy game because it was made by the same people. I owned this on Xbox 360 and it was the most emotional game I have ever played in my life. It was not like playing a game..it was like watching a fucking story and it was beautiful.

  • @DrakkonTiger Well, u can look up to FF series lately, say that again and be ashamed of what you just said. This game was nothing like FF, because there's no petty couple and not aim for teen. This is serious thinking that could be written in a novel. My point is, LO is the best JRPG I've played and it did not get the rating it deserved, especially after people jump like frogs, shoot, curse, die and respawn in Halo series, they got dam Editor's choice.

  • Never before has any scene in a game made me cry, but this game did it. It's truly a masterpiece, best game I've played on the 360.

  • Making me cry is practically impossible, but when I hit this part of the game, oh my God, I just started bawling. This game kicks immesurable ass!

  • @Eliyora

lol me too. like i was like DAM!!!!! i cannot recall another game to take me on such an emotional journey. and idk. Its a masterpiece... but i cannot lie. I would like another

  • @budbass19

    +1

stories like "a hero returns" transforms into emo. damn..

best 360 game evahr so far

  • This is the first game that ever actually made me cry. I felt sad for a video game character! That's how good this game is.

  • saddest game i'v played

  • :( made me cry when i first played.......lirum!! D:

  • No matter what anyone says, I've seen this scene almost a dozen times.. and each time, I cannot hold back the tears..

One of the most emotional scenes from a game, You'll ever encounter. Once you learn about Kaim's past.. and witness the bonds he had with the daughter he couldn't remember, topping it off with the reunion of the two.. just makes this game, The BEST of all time.

  • This is sad but no tears, when Zack died on crisis core I cried my eyes out.

  • I disagree. In my opinion, Crisis Core was maudlin compared to Lost Odyssey.

Zack's death was hammed up in Crisis Core, and it was made worse by the fact that most everyone who played it knew it was coming.

In FFVII itself, it's far more devastating, because he's just mowed down with no fanfare whatsoever.

This scene blindsides you, which gives it much more of an impact. Again, in my opinion.

  • that was like the sadest thing ever how the kids screamed i almost cried:(

  • i remember when i first saw this, cried so much, because this reminded me of time when my Father died

  • And Roger Ebert says games can't be emotional... What a moron

  • Now that Is depressing. I cryed the first time seeing this. This probably the best schene in game history.

My favorite game of all time, I hope to God that Lost Odyssey 2 comes out.

  • This is the best scene in the history of video games. They nailed the voice acting in this game. You know the part where Lirum jumps off the cliff and Kaim and Sarah run after her? Unfortunately, I know that parents losing their child sound EXACTLY like that.

  • She looks more like his sister :S

  • She looks like Sarah.

  • I cried when i saw this scene! This maybe the saddest in the game! The music parting forever makes you cry <3

  • look at those tears...

the unreal engine 3 at work

also Gongora is a fuckin douche

i fuckin hate him with a passion

spliting a family apart and sealing away the memory of having a daughter...

    thats fucked up

  • That is what makes him such a realistic villain - in real life, villains arnt cool - they split up families, etc, and are egotists.

  • yep totally agree

  • Um, might I just ask what Lurim says to Kaim when she whispers to him, are you suppose to know and am I just plain stupid?

  • I think she says, I love oyu, but I don't know

  • I paused the game and i started to cry as a child when i watched this scene yesterday. I love this game, hope it continues in this way 'till the end

  • take your fucking name off this beautiful scene

  • this scene made me tear and it is really emotional for a scene, aeris death is nothing to me.

  • This scene is very sad... But then shortly afterwards you get angry because you have to do a FUNERAL FETCH QUEST!! And then ofcourse... the worlds first FUNERAL MINIGAME.. I swear man. Although I think it would be funny to make a request that people do a bunch of mundane shit before you die like 'wash 10 bums' and then 'pick up 10 cans on the side of the freeway' and of course wave a burning branch for 20 minutes before you get the sequence right at my ceremony... ARGHHH I hate that part

  • great moment!

  • an instant classic scene from any rpg.....

  • Mistwalker made this,NOT you,you goligoth faggot

  • defiantly the most emotional scene in a game what a great game too...

    Thanks for uploading this!

  • i find this really really sad but its hard to make me cry but i do find it very sad but i didnt cry

  • some1 says if u don't cry u don't have heart and no feelings. this game is so awesome from the beginning to thi end

  • well that just isnt true

the part about if you dont cry you dont have a heart or feelings

  • The voices and this scene especially is a lot better and more emotional in Japanese... Cooke and Mack's English voices sound like characters from the rugrats.

  • haha i know right? cooke is lil's voice

  • This was one of the most powerful scenes in a game i've ever seen.

    Pure amazing!!

  • this was a really emotional scene, but its the only one...

  • Made me cry.... but that doesn't actually mean much with me.... I cry during disney movies

  • The old EA slogan when they were not that evil. "Can a video game make you cry?"

Yes, it just did. So much better than movies too.

  • no amount of washing will get rid of the stains my mantears left on my tshirt that day..

  • THIS. If I EVER hear any asshole say that Aeris' death was more tragic, I will Punch them in the face, Repeatedly. Aeris never made me cry haha

  • umm i think its like both the same sadly ive never played this great looking game (i dont like the xbox 360) but u kinda knw waht will happen. With aeris's death you have to really think about it put yourself in clouds shoes. Aeris is dead , Someone you really care about is gaone forever nover to do anything again. And the music T_T well i hope this might make u think twice.

  • Music....the music in LO was far more moving in all regards of emotion than anything in FFVII ever was. And as for Aeris....Aeris wasn't Cloud's daughter, who he thought was gone forever. Only to find out that she wasn't dead after all, and that he was a grandfather, just to get there in time for her to die. Sorry. Still not persuaded.

  • i do see where ur comeing from but aeris's theme is a master peice

    :(

also zacks daeth is the saddist ever

  • If you like Aeris's theme, you should hear Celes' theme in FFVI...Nobuo admitted that he rearranged that song to make Aeris' theme...

And I don't know, while Zack's death was sad, I felt this scene and a lot of events in this game beat that...

  • Celes' theme is great

  • This game is just Pure awsome in every aspect, it has anything you can imagine. Full on action, a little romance, Shit loads of emotion. Its by far one of the best console Rpg game there is.

  • This part didn't make me cry but the part after the awful torch lighting minigame did.

  • This is one of the only games I've played that has made me cry like that. I had to throw the controller away from me and walk away.

  • Seriously one of the very few moments I almost cried playing a video game. I just love this games story line.

  • wow, what a scene. i hope they make a movie out of this game. the gameplay was a bit crap (fighting), but the story line was absolutely amazing and that is what made me wanna finish the game. i hope they make a movie out of it.

  • fuck, i cried

    0_0

  • This is the best game i have ever played in my entire life, the story line was out of this world. i hope they bring out another game like this.

This scene made my mom cry like mad

  • My mom cried at this scene too, it's so powerful.

  • I know they'll make a sequel ^^ I hope it will be as great as the first one!

  • They better not make a sequel, masterpieces should only have one chapter. That's why a lot of great games only have one, or two that are actually sequels. It makes it more unique, and more powerful. They intended the game to only have one go, if they made a second one, it wouldn't be as good cause they'd have to make a new plot while being limited to what happened in the last game. Sequels should only go for games that are intended to have a sequel from the start.

  • I wrote mu comment 10 month ago XD.... I agree with you but I've read they're is already a sequel in preparation since the first game was a succes in Japan

  • i cried manly tears

  • No matter how many times I see this I still cry!

  • some Sakaguchi and Uematsu special!

They are the dream team of video game making!!

  • Oh my god, i'm sitting here open mouthed. What a cutscene that was!

  • I got choked up all over again watching this!

  • This is one of the many times when I was close to crying in Lost Odyssey. It has some of the most emotional scenes that I've ever seen in a game.

  • i first saw it today an it made me cry alot, i know its just a game but at the end of the day they make the games so real that u hav to cry or laugh these days, it very emotaional, ive cried on many games but this beats all of them x

  • This scene made me cry I just saw it two days ago. Actually this scene just made me tear up, it was during the send-off when they burned the last string and sent her to Mother Ocean that made me cry. And then in the Crimson Forest it was beautiful. Lirum brought them a miracle!

  • even though this scene made me cry like something chronic. the whole game made me cry. all these stories and dreams. expecially when that old lady dies when picking flowers "dont forget me you hear!" omg i sobbed so much! great game best story ever!

  • Aww

  • this scene made me cry

definitly one of the greatest cutscenes in game history

  • When I was here Kaim was wearing the Mimit Ears accessory and that kind of made me laugh at the contrast between the super serious, super emotional death of Lirum and the fact that a grown man was wearing a headband with cat ears on it.

    Spoiled the scene a bit.

  • Wow, I honestly have to say that this scene was just so.. emotional.

The music just makes it harder to not cry, lol

  • oh fuck almost cried, i loved this game so much=\

  • Like you said its only a game... but... come on :( how can you not cry... my friend laughed at it :( so i beat him up :), but no... i cry every time i see it :(

  • Yup, I had to (literally) *knock* some sense into a few of my friends.

  • I remember when I first got to this part on the game man,I couyldn't get it out of my head,it was one of the first games to almost make me cry.

  • This was the first game to actually make me cry and not just almost. It's an amazing scene

  • OMFG I WANT A 360 now even more than before
