@ridthisevil I don't think Iran is wanting to attack the US fleet. they know the US Airforce is nearby and could eliminate Iranian installations in minutes. They want to show they are a capable security force, I think they have every right to feel safe.

@PaladinHludwig Iran won't start a conflict. That's not in their doctrine. But I will tell that if the West does attack them, Iran is very capable of defending themselves, even against the US Air Force. The IRGC's tightly knit, integrated air defenses are designed to counter air to ground ordinance, as well as cruise missiles or other PGMs. The launching air crafts would for the most part return back to base safely but they wouldn't have achieved their objectives.

@IAmOpenMinded Yes I agree that Iran won't attack first, they have nothing to gain from it. I really don't think the USA will attack either because they are bankrupt and are struggling month just to approve money to keep the government from shutting down.
