  • just saw these guys last night in rochester... freakin' sick

  • Anamanaguchi, I Fight Dragons. Man, NES-rock is awesome.

  • Anamanaguchi is sooo cool. Chiptunes are epic!

  • Its cool how they did buddy holly by weezer...one of my fav songs

  • Famitracker on the laptop is see?

  • "I wanna EH!"

  • i saw these guys here a year before i got into them lol thanks tyo the soundtrack for the scott pilgrim game

  • @n7m6e7 psssh. Not one mention of the PS1 monitor? Not even one mention of the BAND. It's Anamanaguchi.

  • They may use the sound chip from the NES via some hardware mod but the software interface runs on Net Yaroze which was a PS1 dev kit model.

  • Well the system software runs on the PS1 as I saw the screen booting up Net Yaroze which was a dev kit for the ps1. I would like to know how they are connecting the PS1 to the NES hardware wise. It would be nice if they talked about the hardware they use...

  • @MrRelys I don't think it's legit...

  • ah famitracker, my old friend. i've only just started using that again, my lsdj cart broke so i've had to resort back to that. he's right about not having it on a hard drive though, i've been trying to chipbend my sega master system for months now and i'm getting nowhere. then again you can't argue with the guys that once complimented me on my nullsleep cover on 8bc as being "better than the original". anamana, that song is nowhere to be seen on my computer but the sound lives on to this day

  • Buddy holly - weezer

  • holy shit hes using famitracker O_O

  • Wow! That song at 1:06 is the intro for The Nerdist!

  • any one know WHAT program that is

  • @d3ath0 Famitracker

  • @Chaoshedgehog sweet ty

  • 2:9 "an 20 year old system" JEFF IS A TROLL

  • can the nes still play games?

  • i saw this guys in philly a couple of days ago they were fucking amazing!

  • Mixture of Music and Programming... pfft you don't need a programming background to use Famitracker to make music. I know many many teenagers who know very very little programming at all to none to use it. Get into creating your own software to do this type of stuff if you really want programming...

  • The program they are using to do this is called Famitracker, if anybody cares to know.

  • dude!scott pilgrim!:D

  • Nerdist Podcast theme! Gotta love chris hardwick. And Jonah and matt, of course.

  • Does that NES still play games?

  • Holy shit they have my ps1!

  • What about Leeni? she does the same thing! but she sings too :)

  • I ran into Jeff's parents once in New jersey. Doesn;t get much more random than that

  • they made a guitar pedal to make those a effects. it looks like an NES controller

  • I'm a fan of anamanaguchi, and since I like messing around with making music, I found FamiTracker kind of fast... But I never knew they used it as well :P

  • BRING BACK THE BLOOP

  • heh. i played/re-played lots of the nes games half reason to hear the music of a certain stage, the ending, credits, menu, etc. in the old days. nintendo is old as hell by now, yet... for some reason, not only does the 8-bit music still sound cool, but i find myself and many others having emulators of the old NES, SNES and SEGA consoles on their pc, still playing, making youtube vids and enjoying them old games. if that can't be called evergreen, then nothin.

  • the fucktard that is running the computer thinks he's cool. Go suck a homeless guy's cock fuckface :O (======3

  • marshmellow bandito

  • don't feed the trolls, guys :>

  • Whats the song on 2:21 please reply!!!!!!!!

  • @1j2o3s4e5 Buddy Holly - Weezer. you must be living under a rock to not know that lol

  • @SWED519 No i just live in a genereation that takes pop and stupid artists and makes them their god . I hear 840 artist i hear everithing except comercial things ! and no i don't know all music sorry . And sorry for my english just learning

  • nerdss

  • does no one notice the ps1 screen that they attached to the nes? not a single mention of it...

  • @n7m6e7 ps1 had screens?

  • @n7m6e7 Yup, because the PS1 TOTALLY had an attached screen..............

  • @TheGDMProductions13 it actually did

  • @n7m6e7 so what?

  • @n7m6e7 cause ps1 screens are used very often when hacking a game console

  • @n7m6e7 The screen is just so they can see the notes and commands. The music really is all played by the NES alone though, it's not some weird PS/NES hybrid. Look up videos of Famitracker in action, that's all the screen is for.

  • Heaven smells like when I'm gluing model airplanes!

  • Bleep Bloop should be on G4.

  • @Doaders592 Agreed.

  • so invidiblehax0r is being a fag over here and trolling this video.....fag.....and actual ppl listen to rock so technacly ur a fag, gay, queer or anything along those lines if u dont listen to rock. deal with it.

  • @maxxrulez Chill on the gay hate, stupid nigger.

  • @MrPixlCrushr really? chill on the gay hate, but it's okay to use the n-word? oh thats good to know

  • NOT MUCH GIRLS THERE EITHER.

  • @invisiblehax0r are you kidding or for real? :p quit sniffing all that paint thinner kid

  • @invisiblehax0r So, I'm usually not an asshole or a troll, but I noticed that this account was closed because ROCK IS AMAZING AND THE VAST MAJORITY OF ROCK LISTENERS AREN'T PEDOPHILES OR RAPISTS. As for the gay remark, stop being such a homophobe... Oh wait, you can't even read this. =P

  • @invisiblehax0r TROLL!!!!! are you a justin bieber fan? only jb fans hate rock

  • @invisiblehax0r Ouch, my head kinda hurts. I think I'll listen to ]v[EGADET]-[, or System of a Down, Bad Religion, etc. That will make my head hurt less.

  • @invisiblehax0r it has, its called chiptune rock, quit trolling

  • THAT ASSHOLE, HE DOES NOT UNDERSTNAD THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NO AND YESéANYTHING ROCK WILL TELL YOU CRAP SUCH AS

    'NO MEANS YES'

AS IN 'IF HE SAYS NO, HE HIS WANTING TO SAY YES'

THOSE ARE THE KIND OF PEOPLE WHO WILL RAPE YOUR SISTER IN HER SLEEP

  • LIKE I HOPE IF SATAN IS STUPID ENOUGH TO TAKE HIIM AMONG HIS FOLLOWERS, WHICH I REALLY DOUBT, HE SHOULD BE, BURNED, AND THEN, REBURNED, AND THEN his ashes given to a pig, then distributed in the frozen meat market.

  • CAN ROCK, JUST ROT IN HELL FOREVER, LIkE, PLEASE.

  • 8 BITS ROCK?

SO LAME HE HAVE TO STEAL MY INTEREST TO STEAL MY FRIENDS, WHAT A LAMER

  • lmao, they're using famitracker. Just downloaded that yesterday.

  • i want a hacked nes

  • Must,... Ignore.... Scott Pilgrim vs. The World references....

  • @blackmage124 wast it buddy holly?

  • @markybeardmore Either way you wont lose with Weezer ;-)

  • @blackmage124 That was "Buddy Holly."

  • You know these guys did some music for the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack

  • @NilesFerryVideoMan ANOTHER WINTER FTW!

  • Love it. Funniest thing about this video is the fact that the screen they are using is a Sony Product, not Nintendo.

  • anybody have a link to their site if their site it's not in the links.

  • what programs are they using?

  • @santanafk looks like famitracker to me, but i could be wrong here. They seem to have linked the NES to it. I don't know what the connected screen interface is.

  • 2:20 it was one of the Weezer's song!

  • 200 people didn't like the video

  • 200 Peoples parents didn't buy them an NES when they were younger....

  • ...i wanted the weezer song to continue

  • Why PSOne is inside NES ?

  • 3:04

    Nerdiest thing Jeff says

  • Comment removed

  • What program it's he using PLEASE REPLY! i'd like to have it on my pc

  • @1j2o3s4e5 hes using a gameboy emulator and either an lsdj or nanoloop rom. download them off the internet. Its sooooo much better on the gameboy. buy a gameboy, buy nanoloop.

  • I didn't know know who these guys were the first time I watched this, but after I realized they did the soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim vs The Word: The Game, I realized I recognized the name from Bleep Bloop!

  • he uses Famitrackerr!

    i love that program

  • :O..............GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!

  • the program they use is called famitracker for the pc.

and when they have completed the song on the pc they export it from famitracker as a nsf file.

so it can be played on the nes.

  • @FenderBoi92 thats sweet thx for telling me

  • Fuck yes, play the piano and play Megaman 2, this guy is a prodigy

  • so what no singer

  • My friend is teaching me how to this. :)

  • But if this video has made you interested in checking out tracking for yourself, Google for these:

    - OpenMPT: Windows, free (open source): modern, general purpose tracker

    - Famitracker: Windows, free (open source). Authentic NES output.

    - Milkytracker: Win/Mac/Linux, free (open source): .xm tracker / FastTracker 2 clone

    - Renoise: Win/Mac/Linux, commercial. Modern hybrid of tracker + sequencer.

  • So much confusion and debate over something simple like which tracker they're using. Just pause at 2:46 and see Famitracker for yourself

People, there are a lot of trackers in the world. Most of them look very similar. That's by design, as a lot of them imitate old successful Amiga or DOS trackers like Fasttracker or Protracker. While most are general purpose and can imitate a chip sound, Famitracker is a specialty tracker for outputting authentic audio code that'd run on a real NES.

  • On the one hand, I want to thumb this up on account of FamiTracker

On the other hand, the video itself sucks.

  • @skaterbrat1234 sweet im not the only one in the world that knows that song

  • its just fami tracker and some instruments

  • sounds like music from scott pilgrim the game >,>

  • @IanTheMedic

Actually, they composed the music for that game.

  • Get a drummer!!

  • Looks like Famitracker @_@

  • i think HORSE the band is better, but that just what i think

  • This was put up on my bday last year! :D

  • Wish i knew what programs they use and how they modded that NES

  • @CorporalGoogoo they used a program called famitracker u dork...idk how they modded the NES though=(

  • 2:20

    Buddy Holly!!!

  • Wonder if they have back up Neses (is that right for plural Nes?)

  • redux I likes anamanaguchi

  • like anamanguchi!

  • all of this music sounds like something that would be in scott pilgrim vs the world

  • @LightV0id this kind of music was made years before scott pilgrim vs. the world was even thought of, haha

  • @LightV0id its the same band dude

  • He signed my shoe, the lead guitarist

  • a sony device is in the vack of that nes. WTF!!!!

  • Holy shit, I wants this bands CD!

  • Is 3:14 an actual song they have on one of their cds? i want to get it

  • lol i want that weezer song

  • ANAMANGUCHI

  • They're super catchy.

  • OMG! 3:40 brings back memories hahaha

  • wait wait wait. They pre record it then fake their guitar strumming on stage? That just sounds stupid

  • @wackedout991 emmm, no, the synths (bleeps and the bloops) are pre-recorded and come through the PA and I guess they actually play guitars/bass/(drums?) live :)

  • I hope they are making a good living. they deserve it

  • 00:00

  • This band is awesome :D

    I love megaman :P I guess that's why I enjoy the music :)

Lol the very last part of the video made me laugh when he pretended to take out the game and say "one sec. Guys" *blows the video game* LMAO

  • 999 video's!!!

  • soft gayness

  • This is sad.

  • @whateverg1012 YOU'RE SAD.

  • THATS AN XM tracker... uses homebrew to run .xm files through the NES soundcard

  • I dislike 196 people. But I guess given how many people there are in the world, that's not too bad.

  • Peter seems super nervous.

  • I looove Anamanaguchi!

  • ...........i smell a HORSE that THE kids might have chopped in the BAND ;]

  • @modes1fk

    I bow to you

  • Sounds like keygen music!

  • stop fucking cutting them off pat and jeff i wanna hear what they have to say you never let them finish

  • @darkslair3 They're more focused on getting their fucking jokes out than appreciating what they have to say.

  • Aww, I wanted to hear the rest of Buddy Holly in 8-bit!

  • @Michgal2189 Maybe you should look for the Weezer 8-bit Album... It's somewhere out there AND its free^^ Anamanaguchi performed a track for that album, but not buddy holly, they performed "Holiday"...

  • Anamanaguchi!!! <3333

  • Probably one of the cheapest band sets ever. A bass, 2 guitars, a freeware program, and a 20 year-old gaming system!

  • Anamanaguchi - Talk Radar ftw

  • The end is the best. '90s kid mindset: "IF I BLOW ON IT, IT'LL WORK!"

  • @lynx2210 i wish women had that mindset :D

  • @Iribara lol~

  • @Iribara Aren't you classy. I'm a woman, but video games are the only thing I'm blowing.
