  • Love the chime.

  • @sil80d Me too... :)

  • My father's 1985 Chrysler New Yorker had the optional digital gauges.

  • @Rlotpir1972 They were pretty popular in the 80's! Kind of coming back now, but in LCD form.

  • Although this Toronado has the 5.0 Olds gas V8 engine, 1985 was the final year you could get a diesel for this or any GM car. In fact, GM pulled the plug on the diesel option in January 1985 to the best of my knowledge.

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X Yes I believe that's correct as well. Very hard to find any 85 GM with a diesel.

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X Yes I believe that's correct as well. Very hard to find any 85 GM with a diesel.

  • My mom had a 1970 Toronado(in 1974), blue hardtop...I was PHYSICALLY I love with that car! At owned a 1984 Toronado, black - tan vinyl< I wasn't as crazy about it then, BUT it had the digital dash!!!!

  • check mine out, rebuilding the carb does wonders, i never have to pump the gas to start it up. i like the digital gauge clsuter, was taht trim specific? or just an option for certain years?

  • @diverseent It was an option for all I believe. This one was pretty well optioned aside from auto headlamps and the voice response system.

  • @focusonthegreen yeah i figured as much, i have the XSC trim package, and i thought i had all the "good" stuff.. lol

  • @diverseent Wow cool...you have any videos of it??

  • @focusonthegreen yeah its on my channel

  • @focusonthegreen far as ive seen mines is the only one with a factory sunroof.

  • I like that chime.

  • The other bygone feature... the wire remote control passenger mirror "joystick" on the center of the dash...

  • Wow, so many lights??

  • @McVaio Yup it's got a lot of them, nice driving at night!

  • oh i LOVE the instrument cluster! Always wanted to see what it looked like lit up on this particular model., the newest of the old 79 to 85 series!

  • The car gorgeous and classy! You don't find that coming from Japan!

  • @GayUOPXBoy10 Thanks! Def not...it's a great ride.

  • My mom had an '83 Toronado. It was piss yellow. She didn't have the digital dash like yours does, but the lights on the side were the same. It ALWAYS took a pumping just to get it started on a warm day. So this video kind of flashed me back about 22 years.

  • @rockergirl83 It's a great car, I miss it! My friend that bought it said he put a new carb on it so this problem should have been fixed.

  • WOW the door "gong"

So used to the Cadillac Bell, and the GM chime.... 80's Electric Chime!

Kinda reminds me of the chime of my BMW's iDrive system! hmmmmmmm.....

  • @Maclover94 It's a nice gonger...lol. I heard another, newer GM car that had the same one too.

  • Sounds like donkey kong.

  • Jeez, that was even fancy back then, great vid.

  • @Hectorson3 Haha, yes it was. Really cool cars. I'd love to get another one. Thank you for the comment! :)

  • @phmike69 I know man, yes GM did, a damn tragedy, I just bought a 87 Cutlass and the couple that sold it to me had it sitting for about 16 years, but they started it every now and then. But when I hopped in I turned the key and it cranked right up, I was just playing around with her 19 mins ago, lol. If I do sell her I'm getting another Cutlass, just a wonderful car you know.

  • What a beast! Love those 79-85 Toronados. Is yours a Brougham or a Caliente? Does the digital dash show the interior temp as well?

  • It's a Brougham...yes the digital dash shows interior or exterior temp. The 307 isn't bad in it really...moves along pretty good, certainly stronger than in the Custom Cruiser! haha. Sadly I sold this car in October :(

  • That's how m y 85 Grand Prix was too...never had problems with it starting. It had a 305. This one sat for a really long time so in reality it probably could use a carb rebuild.

  • awsome

    i just bought a 1985 olds delta 88 royal brougham L.S.

    i love it

  • my brother had an 84 toronado that had the digital instrument option and that's rare for those early 80's toronados.Yours is the second one I've ever seen!!!!!

  • Really? Sweet! Yeah I think they are pretty rare. I remember seeing one back when I was a kid...but they were new back then :) I just sold this car to my friend last week. He loves it. It's a very cool car.

  • Could you kindly replace the chime in this Toronado with a scary buzzer from a Chevy Impala?

  • Comment removed

  • Cool! I love Olds :)

  • sounds like an airplane

  • ha, yeah it does. Just needs a propeller ;)

  • Such a cool car!!

  • Thank you!!

  • Sounds like the choke is out of adjustment. An old school mechanic can adjust it properly for you.

  • Cool, thank you for the advice! I know the carb was just adjusted a few months ago when it wouldn't pass emissions. I noticed it taking longer to start right after I changed the distributor and cap though, which seem kind of weird.

  • Fuel injection my ass! This is how a REAL car starts from cold!
