  • good but i screw up hole cube at 4:45 u shood tell in advans

  • lol ur permutation is kinda better than thrawst's corner perms....sry thrawst

  • This is the most amazing tutorial I have ever seen!

  • How the hell can you dislike this???

  • owwhh when i did the CCW and CW algorithms my cube stayed mixed up, back to the beginning, Hi previous video :P

  • everything is right on my cube except all the cross star center peices on the top

  • this is stupid and not helpful at all

  • @werdnandrew4 Your brain is non-functional and not helpful at all.

  • after i do the u' r' u r thing i don't have the head light things all the way around ever waht do i do ???!?!??!?!?!

  • Thank you!!!!:D

  • You has taught me how to solve meh megaminx! Thank you. :)

  • simon westlund (world record holder in megaminx 42 sec) is using 3-look last layer. he 2-looks oll and then do pll

  • Thank you, this is a fantastic tutorial. I managed most of the megaminx on my own but needed a bit of help with the final layer (which is where your video stepped in). Thank you again.

  • 20 000 people give up

  • This tutorial was so awesome, it made me rush to buy a megaminx. No lie. I wanted to solve one for the longest time, and this tutorial made me want to even more. Absolutely no problems with the tutorial, thank you :P

  • not to be picky but at 5.41 you said r instead of r'

  • but my anti sune isnt that one its l',u',l,u','l',u2,l does that work and if it does how should i hold it??? (the megaminx)

  • omg i did it. thxs so much the vid was great

  • Great video very helpful

  • this tutorial made it looks so appealing that i bought one. lmao I've been wanting to get one anyway

  • Thumbs up if you messed up around 4:45 and had to restart from like 4 steps back.

  • is solved it!!!!! HOLY CRAP I SOLVED! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight, Okay, Ima noob. I dont know the Fridrich method cause it just seems very confusing to me. I have tried to learn it multiple times but I just fail. I'm so used to solving my rubiks cube the slow way (my fastest ever is 57 seconds with it) so I guess I just have to suck it up and try learning it the other way cause nearly EVERY cuber on here makes relevance to it in someway with some other puzzle. Ugh Damn F2L. Just F2LMyLife why dont you! XD

  • what if just one edge piece is missing??????

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight, why can't you be a red knight?

Anyways, You should make a page, with HTML, and send to me, and I'll put on my website I'm making for Algorithms, and how to learn different methods for all cubes, and I'll provide a link to your videos, I plan on it going big as I have friends that have friends, and it could help you get a lot of views.

  • At the last layer corners commununmontor if one is already solved the rest gets fucked, thanx.

  • you made it easy to learn

  • I wanne have a mf8, nice video

  • if u are going to get a megaminx order it of of the puzl website great service and good delivery times

  • i still con't do

  • Nice tutorial. Anyone thinking about getting a megaminx dont get an mf8 they suck! Mine constantly pops whenever I try to solve it.

  • Thank you, sir!

  • Yeah, this helped a lot. Thanks! :-) Now, all I have to do is get a better Megaminx at Caltech for the Spring WCA =)

  • dude i cant wait to get my megminx!

  • nice! but i hardly used the guide, everything was easier than i thought, so easy that i watched carefully both videos once and without watching them again i almost solve completely my -brand new :D - megaminx MF8 tiled. But i forgot the commutators for the permutation of the corners (last step), everything else i didnt need to rewatch. Of course that my practice in BLD helped, a lot :D

  • Excuse me, but for R', U', R, U when orienting the corners, i've noticed that it only fixes all the other parts once every 6 cycles. If you don't use these commutators to orientate the edges, i've noticed that you can get a match-up where the number of cycles required to orientate all the edges is not a multiple of 6. What should i do in this occasion (I'm attempting to learn your commutators, I'm just wondering for future reference).

  • never mind

  • your so gay u make me messup u cant dam even solve the thing retard

  • @ryandman81 apparently he can and if you did it right you wouldn't have messed up.

  • wow.. this is helpful!... nice

  • Lol, I solved it with the 3x3 algs only :)

  • when i first saw this puzzle i thought it would be impossible for me to solve because im still learing 2-look oll and pll but its actually really easy to learn

  • that doesn't make sense though cause the puzzle was completed when i got it..

  • Can some one help me out? I got everything except ONE CORNER, everything matches except an OJ,Red,White corner that needs to be turned counter clockwise in the same spot, but when i do the method through corner permutation, it messes up the whole puzzle!

  • @terran910 your thing is screwed up. your never gonna fix that.

  • @terran910 take it apart fix it back solved and try it again is the only thing i could think of

  • wow! awesome tutorial, ive been searching my ass off for something this good.

you just earned yourself a subscriber! =)

  • thank you so much now i know how to solve the megaminx without taking it apart!!!

    :)

  • this is a great vid it helped me a lot thanks lancethebluenight

  • Same here... I keep using the comutators, but I keep ending up with a counter clockwise corner turn that screws everything up in the end...

  • This has to be one of the best tutorials I've ever seen. Thanks!

  • Damn... Thanx for helping me solve this, and without Algerithms, you're some kind of genius!

  • hi :D

  • hi :D

  • i don't get the corners mine just keeps getting messed up but i'm using all the right commutators

  • This is, to be honest, one of the easiest to watch tutorials I have ever seen. Not only did you properly explain yourself, fix all your vocal blunders, and keep the video short, but you made it enjoyable to watch and got rid of my frustrations with the megaminx.

Thank you, so very much, and have a great Christmas!

  • you are beast you taught me thanks man i am eternaly greatfull

    youROCK

  • 5:39. You got me confused!!! That is white, not pink!

  • ?????????????????

  • Is there parity on the megaminx?

And isn't it possible to permute the corners and then orient them with the same algorithms like the 3x3 beginners method?

  • omfg i cant get the last layer corners right :( i get all the pieces right way but they aint at the right spot :/(

  • i could figure out the whole cube without any instructions except the last layer thanks this video really helped me understand the last layer! :)

  • wow it is just like a 3x3 lol, but ive worked so much on fredrichs method that i forgot some beginners method algorithms =p i guess i can relearn them lol, and im happy u can use f2l on the megaminx !

  • You're my hero!

  • got it, but i solved it just like a 3x3 with no new algorythms, just slights tweaks

i used some of yours, and i think that led to me solving it , even though it did not look like so

    anyway, thanks!

  • @dranomania why would you post comments? hes gone forever

  • "How cool is that" is a question, so it needs a question-mark not an exclamation-mark, and certainly not 30+ exclamation-marks.

(Yes, I am a grammar Nazi...)

  • Woot! Yea! i got it! Thanks a lot!

  • BEST TUTORIAL EVER!!!! I CAN NOW SOLVE THE MEGAMINX!!!! WHOOO!!!!!!

  • Thanks man, solved it all by myself until I got to the top layer, which I couldn't figure out. The new algorithms at the end enabled me to solve it, cheers!

  • I seem to be getting a parity error with one of the edges when trying to make my LL cross. It's like on the 4x4 or 5x5 when you need to flip the last edge in order to make the cross. Is there an algorithm similar to that for the 4x4 (Rr2 B2 U2 Ll U2.....)?

  • @cubswin1982 i'm an idiot. it means i put an edge piece back in backwards when it popped out. duhhhhh

  • something flashes up at 3:39

  • wow this does seem alot easier to solve than i thought it would altough im am not saying its easy. Ive ordered the 5x5 i can solve the 2x2 3x3 and the 4x4 ill learn the 5x5 then the 7x7 then ill get the megaminx looking foward to learning it. Nice tutorial by the way

  • I know you quit, but I want to thank you for this guide. I can now solve my favourite puzzle =)

  • Comment removed

  • just looking at it makes my brain hurt

  • Very interesting though somewhat esoteric.

  • CRAP I MESSED UP :(

  • thanks alot man, now i can solve it in 5 minutes!

  • Just like the beginner method of solving at the end with ri di r d

  • I learned how to solve the megaminx! Thx to you. I really wish you did not stop cubing.

  • hey dude...thank u one more time for ur tutorials

I got most algorithms to 3x3x3 in ur site. It is on my favorite links. They are very usefull. Now, this is my turn to solve megamins and ur tricks are the best.

    Thank u.

  • I cant understand when he explains ,hes going too fast -.-

  • @xKimchiify sometimes its just to much info to process at once if you put the puzzle down and watch a couple times you should understand

  • THANK YOU

    added to favourites thank you

  • thx very much, that's what I was looking for, rly simlpe method and similar to the 3x3x3's. I've got mf8 megaminx since yesterday and I didn't manage to solve last layer, now it isn't a proble, :D your tut helped me very much, good work!!

  • great tut!!!

btw who are the 12 idiots that gave you thumbs down

  • i got it!!!!

  • @MiniUziNation Ummmm... no. it shouldn't say that. Watch again.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight Well in the beginners LBL method you permute the corners then orient them.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight Yea, permuting is putting them in the right spot and orienting them is making them face the right way

  • holy shit a just wanted to see someon e complete it ..a didnt want my mind to be melted with d prime shit lol

  • Very helpful at the last layer, could not figure it out for the life of me thanks

  • good stuff, thnx dude

  • very good very good well done nice tutorial

  • I Finally Understand. WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • So, basically i've figured this method out on my own. It's funny how more than 1 person came up with the same method.

  • I taught myself how to solve it in the first day I got it (yesterday). I don't use any of these things and it is so much easier. If you just sit down and play with it a little, you'll start to understand it more.

  • THANK YOU :D

  • well explained thank you GODBLESS!! :)

  • Ok, a second and third time around proved to be MUCH faster and easier. You are right Lance, once you can visualize it, the megamix really is just a warped 3x3...now I can see the F2Ls and such.

  • I got it, but it's definitely not easier than I thought...first solve took over an hour (several screw ups ofcourse)

  • every time i do the corner orientation in fucks up everything els O__O

  • I know a nice trick to do the star on the last layer intuitive.

You just fix bad edges BEFORE you do the last 2 layers LIKE the petrus method

  • Thanks you really helped me

  • Cheers for this video only had mine a couple of days then got stuck on the last layer until now.

    Nice one ;-)

  • Thanks LanceTheBlueKnight. I've written some of your Last Layer things down. I've figured out a way for me to do F2L 2 and I now know how to solve it without searching for help. Thanks a lot!

  • that was absolutely brilliant, thank you soo much

  • thank you! i didn't know how to get pll but this helped a lot !!!

  • wait what are you doing in the last step

  • thank you so much i got5 it 18 hours ago and just solve it ....... a little confusing my color sceam was a qj c olor scream but thank you

  • it is possible to combine the corner postioning and orienting steps just by turning the top layer between the two repetitions of a orienting algorithm. i think i'm not explaining this very well, but e.g. normally you R' D' R D to bring the top piece down, then R' D' R D again to put it back rotated CCW, but in between, you can turn the top layer to a different position, then you can put it back in a different place. this does cause an interesting problem with the last two pieces you can try out.

  • Wow its so easy now.. im not looking to break any records.. this is the first tutourial that makes any sense

  • thank you sooooooo much for a way to solve the megaminx with very little algs

  • ithink the cw edge algorithim in the description is messed up

  • You own thank you so much

  • I got to try a MF8 at school and solved it in 15mins without looking at the tutorial. (lucked out on the last layer)

  • what the fuck is a sune? you are making no sense

  • a sune is a set algorithm tat if you do it a set number of times then it will be back to its original state

  • This guy is awesome. I am an insane cuber and I just got my megaminx yesterday and I can already solve it thanks to the video!!!!!!!!

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just got mine today. I solved it all except for this layer on my own. I solved my 5x5 (also got it today) completely on my own. once you can do the 3x3 all others are pretty easy.. lol

  • cool, how fast can you do the 3x3? It takes me about 50 seconds

  • My record is 82 seconds. I usually average a little bit slower than that but that's because I've just started practicing a new method AND I've been memorizing the algs for the parity's on the 4x4 and 5x5. I finally did that maybe 3 1/2 hours ago.

  • wow, do you have the gabbasoft cube simulator? It has a virtual 2x2 through 20x20.

  • Has anyone else noticed that all the puzzles above the 3x3 size are basically intuitive because you already know how to do the 3? i love that. hahaha

  • excellent! that was easier than i thought, thanks dude

  • jeez i hardly even needed this guid almos everything is like the regular 3x3

  • @0m3ga1000 i wish pogobat would teach us

  • @0m3ga1000 Ha i know, right? I figured it out myself because it's so similar. I'm now looking online for a better method, but I guess I figured out the best method!

  • Excellent Tutorial! Thank you.

  • THX~~~~~~~~~~

  • the commutators thing is hard

  • awesome, THANKS!

  • thx..yeehaw!

  • Megaminx is amazing for commutators

  • Thank you very much for this. I never would've guessed that corner permutation on the last layer was possible. ^^;

  • Thank you, Lance! =)

  • Comment removed

  • thank God... ive been struggling over my gigaminx for weeks now and you came to the rescue

  • real great vid...i found no better...helped me very much...the last layer is the only thing i can't do...thanks very much....

    lg MrRuBiK3R

  • thanks, that's a very good explanation!

  • thx man

  • thanks lance

  • thanks lance

  • thanks alot!!!! really helped

  • Ty, really helped :)

I did solve the cube onto the last layer myself and also until i had all the corners, and you can use 3x3 Fridrich algorithm for the edges, I did that instead of what you did with your commentator thingy :)

But yeah when i got to the edges nothing worked so you helped me out on that, ty.

  • Uhh srry I mistyped :P what i meant was that I got all the edges myself but needed help on corners (last step) :)

I was confused because on a 3x3 u do it other way round, first corners then edges :P

  • Nice,you really helped me!!!

  • last layer is cool and HARD!!!

  • Heh, I actually learned something about 3x3 from this. I never thought of doing an Anti-sune as the reverse of a sune, for some reason. I've been doing the mirror, and I'm bad with L fingertricks...so thanks for that too.

  • awesomeness

it always seems so much harder, nice to see the reality

  • just wondering 4 no reason at all do u reckon u would b able 2 complete a petaminx i mean i know i couldn't coz i can't even do a fukin rubiks cube but do u reckon u could _X

  • lol i bet he could over time! ...a LOT of time. considering its a 9x9 rubiks cube with double the amount of faces.

  • the corner commutators at the end work for the 3x3 too!

  • thanks and ya u were right when my friend showed me it I did think it was harder than it actually was

  • thanks alot man!! this tutorial reli help me alot...:D

  • umm.. ya know that for CW you can just do Ri Di R D and it does the same thing

  • yea, thats actually the exact same thing as he showed - but the way he does it is like a million times faster

  • Great, really!

    Thank you very much!

    5*

  • when im permuting the edges, i keep getting a case where just two have switched places...

  • i get this too. did you figure out how to solve this

  • yeah its cos its a six-xolour megaminx instead of a 12 colour... there ore two of the same pieces.. you need to know how to solve it - its a prity case.

you just have to switch some of the edge pieces with the ones on the other face of the same colour i think...

  • It helps alot

I was kindda confused about the last layer, not I can fix it without dissamble it, lol

    _WhiteLynx_

  • lol :P i just found out that i have been playing around with it and a piece has popped out and i have been putting it wrong in :P

  • it messes up my bottom always lol ? why im doing the algs rite `?

  • Thanks Lance

  • this only shows one case for the corners

  • It doesn't matter what the case is, as long as you continue flipping the corners the bottom will solve itself again once you do them all. And if you need to turn it counterclockwise then look at the second algorithm at 4:42

  • I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you cannot use the "U" permutation to permute the edges instead of sune/antisune?

  • no.

  • im not kidding. when ever i use the algorithm that gets the corners to face up, it messes up the whole cube. i just got me megaminx yesterday and have not solved it yet. PLZ HELP

  • lol "megaminx tutorial part 2" at 3:39

  • super, super, super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey thanks a bunch even though i figured out just about most of it. all i needed help with was the last lair but thanks anyways. :) Great tutorial!!!

  • Yes man, i'ts easy, bery easy. Ja,ja
