funny- all the well known 'philosophers' that show its rationall......
St Augustine- a saint
Anslem- monk
St Thomas Aquinas - saint
Blaise Pascal- only credible resource
Jonathan Edwards - indoctrinated Native Americans
All the people mentioned were members of the church.......Save Pascal.....and none of them are currently alive...most are two hundred years dead or more. theres a reason that the best scientists are never religous. Where are the famous philosophers today, eh?
negative christianity destroys all reasons and as a faith based religion it requires you to friggin deny eveyrthing else. god DAMNIT. such a contradiction! try thinking logically for once without labeling 3/4ths of the world wrong.
Making up terminology as they go along in parts. A bit weak and oversimplifying on conceptions of philosophy, but not bad in other parts. Mistaking Scriptural theology for philosophy, unfortunately
lol "we are rational we are rational we are rational" who are they trying to convince, seems like mostly themselves. If it where a rational belief wouldnt it make sense? but sadly it does not: examine
God sacrifices himself to... himself to help out others who cannot be born innocent because god screwed up in chapter 1 LOL this is NOT rational
@MrMatthew4892 nope read the bible that stupid god guy created humans and knew thew would eat from the tree of knowledge... if you create a problem and dont correct it before it happens its your fault!!!!! your god is a lame duck god now anyway... where supposed to believe he created the whole universe and now hes unable to interact with it? weak sauce dude... your god is weak! lol your god is a stupid piece of crap that screwed it all up
You should show respect especially when you dont know what you are talking about.
God did not make a mistake when He planted the tree. He gave Adam and Eve free will to worship Him or not. Free will means that we have the potential to fail; we failed, and its our fault. If God kept making it so for it to be impossible to fall, then He is compromising our free will and He wouldnt be a perfect God. God did correct it, He brought justic through the curse
@MrMatthew4892 how do you have free will if the outcome is predetermined? doest the idea of hell also cancel free will? if there is a punishment involved with a certain choice then your will is being limited... did the men who hung jesus on the cross have free will? what if they had decided to let him go? then he wouldnt have died and sins wouldnt be forgiven.... so no those men had no free will
God did not cause the death of Christ. God knows the will of man and his choices, He does not determine/cause their actions. God used the will of man, in this case, the evil will of man for good/salvation. Your will is not limted by justice, you can still have the will to murder someone, and if you do you are still punished by law. (Just becasue you know that something is going to happen, doesnt mean you determined/casued it)
@MrMatthew4892 what about when god hardens the heart of pharaoh? not an invasion of free will? he literally changed his mind about letting the hebrews go...
God did harden Pharohs heart through His command to Moses. But think of it as indirectly. For example: If you were going to clean you dishes after you ate, then your brother tells you to clean them before you did. If you did not have a proper relationship with your brother, you would be less inclined to clean the dish just because he told you to do it; in other words, your brother "hardened your heart" to clean your dishes
@MrMatthew4892 eh.... you'l never convince me with that kind of logic... thats like me pushing you into a car and claiming no fault because the car killed you
@MrMatthew4892 you obviously do not understand the contradictions spewing out of your mouth or his point. If you sin and do not believe, no matter what you are predetermined to end up in hell and therefore are destined to die. Therefore, simply by thinking differently your free will is canceled out. Why is the idea of other religoins so hard to accept as a christian? you label 3/4ths of the world as WRONG
He does interact with us. What do you want? A spritual experience? Your first experience of God is when you are an infant who is loved by your mother. That is a reflection of God's love. Creation is a reflection of His power...etc. The only difference between you and I is that I am aware of these experiences, you are not. Any questions? dont be afraid to ask me :D
Furthermore, actions speak louder than words, entitlement is hardly necessary. It seems as if religion is more devoted to the sake of religion than they are to any God or messiah. For instance, one can say they can lift 100lbs but to be an example of lifting will anyone actually take heed, that is where religion fails, especially due to the vast amount of parrallel teachings in the bible blatantly ignored to adhere to subjective thought and mannerisms.
Seeing this, the entitlement of the religion contradicts the characteristics encouraged in the bible and susbstitues it with the pride of belief. With pride does not come an inclusive nature of knowledge, it then become an exclusive nature where you must be entitled to be accepted. With an exclusive ideology there sparks opposition and argument, something that is any religions major flaw because they cannot rise above themselves to discuss in a context other than that which is subjective.
True, they are not ashamed of the notion of God, Christ or the Bible. But they sure as hell aren't Humble about it. The bible does hold a lot of knowledge, admittedly after reading it, but, truthfully speaking, it is not by any means conclusive. Thusly, when anyone states it as such they are stating something purely subjective therefore speaking of the pride of what they personally believe.
@leethal59, Jesus said "Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book (REV: 22:7) -- notice He says "this book." The book of Mormon is not among "this book".
God sent this servant John who testified also in Revelation: "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them God will add to him the plagues described in this book."
You cannot argue that Mormonism is not adding to these books of the Bible!
@rubenfranco36 Good question, How does anyone know. The honest answer is "No one knows", but the pride of Christians and their subjective ideology will lead them to lie to you time and time again. Don't get me wrong, to believe and live as if it's true for yourself is fine, but when you lie to another to Sell your belief , you just unknowingly claimed yourself superior to that person. Humility is tossed out the window in return for a sale.
If you ask somebody what time it is and they tell you, you have a believe able testimony even if you dont bother to look at a clock
We can rationally claim to believe in Christ through the testimony of the Holy Spirit. Christians don't claim to be better than others at all, you just critisize us for that because you dont like Christians. Christ was humble, he ate with sinners and washed the feat of the apostels. Christians are supposed to reflect that character.(we do fail)
they straw-man naturalism like crazy.
naturalism only holds that things which exist must obey laws of some sort =/

God did'nt screw up. He gave his creatures free will; with free will is the potential to screw up and the potential not to.

"When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom." - Proverbs 11:2
The fact that Christians can be prideful further supports the Bible's claims that we are all sinners. "No one is righteous, no not one."

How do you know there's something beyond the physical in the first place. Do you have any evidence supporting the existence of angels, demons, gods?
rubenfranco36 2 years ago
Yes, it's subjective evidence. You could experience this evidence as well if you were a believer.
Satchipwns 2 years ago
yep, its subjective evidence, in fact, i have loads of it, that why i believe Joseph smith was the true prophet.
