Some say love, It is a river, That drowns the tender ring, Some say love, It is a razor, That leads your sould to bleed, Some say love, It is a hunger, And endless aching need, I say love, It is a flower, And you its only seen, It's the heart, Afraid of breaking, That never, Learns to dance, It's the dream, Afraid of waking, That never, Takes the chance, It's the one, Who won't be taken, Who cannot seem to be, And the soul, Afraid of dying, That never, Learns to live, og one is better
Actually, this song was written in 1977 by Amanda McBroom, who's friend provided the song to Paul Rothchild, (Janis Joplins' former producer), and was music supervisor on the movie, The Rose (1979), which was loosely based on the life of Janis Joplin. Paul liked the song, gave it to Bette, who loved it and made sure it was the title track for the movie. Janis died in October of 1970, so she never heard or performed.
i love this song

My memories conjured by this song are so beautifully insane. Thank you Mudhoney for the good times and the true grunge.
