The reason why a lot of players don't like it is because it shines at gig volumes in a band mix when playing live, rather than at low volumes noodling by yourself in a basement.
People need to wake up and realize the Tanabe Dumkudo and Zenkudo kick ass on the Zendrive! I had the Zen did not like it, sounds sterile, sold it. The Dumkudo is an amazingly versatile pedal with the 3 mode switch, sell the ZEN, buy the Tanabe Dumkudo!!!
@TedGuitar747 Guitar is running into the Zendrive, which is then plugged into a Line6 UX2 Studio, which is plugged into my Macbook. Pod Farm on the Macbook is used for amp modeling, and Garageband is used to record the audio. My camera is a Canon Vixia HF200. Then I put the audio and video together in Sony Vegas 8 in my PC.
@satjathamma sounds like a dumble? who used that ? stevir ray Vaugh... robben ford nothing more to say. Robber ford uses this pedal with DR's and sound amazing live
@motokev Never played a Zendrive 2 but I believe they use actual tubes inside the enclosure, which is why they're so big. And you can swap the tubes out for different sounds I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.
hey, love the tone, my current set up is strat, blues junior, ts9, keeley blues driver. Would you add a zendrive, cream tone or fulldrive 2 and why. Im looking for that John Mayer tone
Thanks. You've got a nice setup for John's tone. Out of those 3 pedals, I'd probably suggest going for a Zendrive because John has a few Dumble amps, and the Zendrive is pretty much a dumble in a box. I've never heard a Cream tone, and a fulldrive 2 is a great pedal, but I'd go with the Zendrive.
where did you buy this at?

Sorry but the Zendrive with your set up at least sounds very sterile.

this pedal colours the sound a lot! I can't understand why this pedal is so hyped?

@satjathamma It does, but what a beautiful color it is!!!!!

dnnysrock 4 months ago
@dnnysrock most serious players don't like pedals that colours the tone,
if you have invested several tousands in a great amp and guitar and pickups to get your sound,
you really don't want anything to colour the sound, only add to it,
satjathamma 3 months ago
@satjathamma tubescreamer it's the biggtest example!
most famous pedal off all tiem and it colours your tone!

how would u rate the Zendrive on a scale from 1-10? Same for an ibanez tubescreamer if you've used one
bmwz20 2 years ago
Zendrive would probably be a 9 or a 10. A stock tubescreamer would be about a 5 in my opinion.
