One of my New Years Resolutions is to send wonderful funding to my local animal shelter to keep them stocked full of all the needles they need to "put down" as many Pit Bulls as possible. Which is close to 200 in 3 months time. and that is not nearly enough.

Unfortunatley people cause dogs to be violent. A man i did not know came up to my pit to pet him. Instead of petting him he started smacking his face and was saying, whats up boy! He was rough with my dog. I do NOT play with my animals rough. Sadly some people do. It effects the animals.

He loves rough housing he knows not to rough house unless someone initiates it first. I dont slap him I just push him a little. Thats basically like how he plays with other dogs. I think people need to remember that this news piece doesn't paint pits in a bad light. The victim herself has said she loves pit-bulls and doesn't blame the dog (or it's breed) for the attack. if anything the report is very sympathetic to the plight of the pitbull, and only singles out the bastards who force dogs of any type to fight. Pit bulls can be vicious and scary (I've seen two in a fight before, it's not pretty), but as many people have pointed out that's only if they're raised badly.

Many people who may have 'a' pit bull assume that because they have papers that they have the genuine article. They will talk of socialization and training and declare the breed misunderstood. I think people need to remember that this news piece doesn't paint pits in a bad light. The victim herself has said she loves pit-bulls and doesn't blame the dog (or it's breed) for the attack. if anything the report is very sympathetic to the plight of the pitbull, and only singles out the bastards who force dogs of any type to fight. Pit bulls can be vicious and scary (I've seen two in a fight before, it's not pretty), but as many people have pointed out that's only if they're raised badly.

Let me make this clear for everyone!!! shepards have a harder bite yes they do bite people when not brought up right!! BUT PITS NOT ONLY BITE TO KILL THEY HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO KILLS THE MASTER?? NEVER HEARD OF A G.S KILLING ITS MASTER??? YES ALL DOGS ARE DOGS I LOVE THEM ALL PITS AS WELL BUT LIKE A PIT I WOULD NOT KEEP A WOLF IN MY HOUSE....

Hey asshole look at shepards, attack just as many people as pittys. Yet they're the #1 rescue dog in the US. Look at dobermans work for the us in ww2 as a rescue and combat dog. Look at the god damn rat dogs. They jump and bit an when they bite they hold on. @lovegungoodfun pitbulls are the most aggressive but they arent bad dogs it depends on the owner plus it all the years of bredding the pitbull into a fighting dog that why when ya see a pit you automatically think its gonna bite you, becuase of peoplr making and bredding the dog to become a figting dog

sorry but pits are a white trash cheap dog!! German Shepherds are stronger and smarter and are an all around better dog , dont think a pit is cool because its crazy and you cant controll it cause thats a wild dog not a house pet

@lovegungoodfun I love German Shepherds, but they bite as often and harder than a Pitbull. There is no bad dog breed, only bad owners.

Many people who may have 'a' pit bull assume that because they have papers that they have the genuine article. They will talk of socialization and training and declare the breed misunderstood. Unlss you paid 3 to 10k you have no idea what I'm refering to. You do not train these dogs, you condition them. They are born, not made. They do not fight to please you, they will not 'out' or stop to please you. I believe they should be illegal in america because dog fighting is illegal here.

Replicarbon is so right about what is known as man-shyness in game-bred dogs. Keep in mind that dog fighting has an ancient history. The intention of breeders was to select for a trait called "gameness". Which I describe as a zeal for combat at the expense of any other natural drive. These amazing dogs are typically very shy and easily handled by man. They may however,have zero tolerance for other animals and seem to kill for sheer sport.

I have a German Shepherd and a Pitbull at home and the pit is the most affectionate dog Ive ever seen in my life. People need to learn its not the breed as any dog can bite.
People get pitbulls and think they are bad ass from the start cause of the dogs history. But when you get idiot people handling dogs that do not take the time to properly socialize/train their animal you have a liability. Training, socialization and patience with any breed and you will have an amazing dog.

Pit bulls are some of the best dogs, i dont have one but one of my old neighbors had one and it loved everyone and every animal. Pit-bulls have a horrible reputation because of the jackasses who treat them like crap.

my Bulldog A.k.A Pitbull protected me from a collie mix german shepherd why didn't my dog appear on the news as a hero? oh yeah cos she's a pitbull she loves to be around other dogs but that collie tried to bite my leg from behind and my girl did her thing wots funny is that that collie mix was with its owner on a leash and he still had the nerve to say my dog picked a fight luckily ppl saw wot happened so the animal control took the dog and guess wot?collie was human aggressive he was put down

Those scum who abuse Dogs are very easy to describe, they are Cowards, They do it mostly behind closed doors out of public view, You rarely see a dog being abused in public because these scum know that most decent people would intervene and they are afraid of that so they do it in private.. I especially hate those low life scum who are behind organised dog fighting.. It speaks volumes about the type of low life scum they are that they can watch two dogs rip each other apart for their amusement.

I feel so bad for the pitbull. He was abused and that's the only reason he attacked, and I hope ginger's ok. the poor thing didn't desetve to be hurt like that, but if it was to protect her owner i understand.

@Cirvantes123 ok! My point is, when you hear on the news of a regular dog besides a pit or a rottweiler attack. They use the simple words "dog attack" . You never hear on the NEWS!!!!! EMPHASIS ON "NEWS" NOT "GOOGLE"!!! You never hear "Labrador attack" or other regular dogs names in association with attack. Dude i have a feeling your a know-it-all deusch bag in person
