  • @scvs2 yes I meant by that

  • no fucking way :| I WAS ON UR FLIGHT BUDDI!!!!!!!

  • i fly in this aircraft a month ago from hong kong to toronto..geez, seat pitch was horrible, cabin was very cramped and its pretty old though, looking at the aged carpets and seats. still nice for short haul flights, but not a good choice for long haul flights especially ones that are 16hrs long lyke hkg-yyz..777-300ERs are better

  • i think their starting to add comfy seats and bigger tvs now

  • i took a B747-400 from Los Angeles - Hong Kong (15 hours) and the seats are so small. the isle was small too especially when our flight was ful

  • i fly the a340 for ac. one of 2 aircraft that air canda owns. i'm well known for my great landings. my name is captain Luke Jordan

  • my fav aircraft...

  • which is d better 1: boeing or airbus (cathay pac)?

  • hey mate here individual seats hav tvs???

  • whats the sound right after take off?

  • Gay name, but its the lavatory sign.

    haha..jp

  • wow..way to ruin a joke man..i don't take that road, but if you do,..then good luck.

  • well, if you said "gay name", i dont think anybody would consider it a joke

  • alright man..i said "jp"..its all good tho...

  • oh my gosh.. is this where sexy off duty pilots hang out?? lol. you all seem flight/air travel savvy!!! i'm impressed. Love watching these big birds taking off. it's quite mindblowing.

  • i like transiting thru YVR...they usually have refreshments out.

  • The reason for the slow climb is due to the fact that the Airbus A340-200 and 300 series engines are made for maximum cruise effeciency...not take-off. This explains the long take off rolls, and climb speeds.

  • Very nice. That really was a slow climb, capt. musta wanted to take a scenic look of Vancover!

  • you could get in so much trouble from the FAA for having you camera on during takeoff. But i love it

  • since when has the FAA been in charge of Canadian airspace?

  • Depends on the airline, not airspace. If you're flying United Airlines for example, no matter where you are, for example if you tamper with the smoke detectors in the lavatories, the FAA will charge you. But you're right in this case, Cathay Pacific wouldn't involve the FAA.

  • lol

  • pwnd

  • and why?cameras don't broadcast any radio/waves signals

  • That's quite a slow climb...A340-300's are usually heavy.

  • cool je cool ;-)

  • Lucky you had In-Seat Entertainment

  • I've been on this route. I need help, is this plane B-HXK Flight 839? If so, it was the last plane out of kai tak.

  • A343 Indeed

  • Never Mind... It is VanCity

  • did this flight took off from Vancouver BC?

  • ya it said on map

  • Do Asia-bound flights from Vancouver fly over Seattle?

  • No, Asia bound flights from Vancouver fly north towards alaska and down from eastern siberia. Kinda liek the top half of a circle

  • I wonder why it makes the distance longer

  • It does not make the distance longer - that's the quickest and most fuel efficient route if you count the earth's round shape and airflow patterns. The routes are calculated that way, the maps we see aren't exactly the same world we live in.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhh i get it

  • a340-033!!! god cant u tell the diff?

  • You are all wrong, this is cessna 150,just kidding but it looks like A340-300.

  • cathay always take heavy weight on this route. u can actually see the airplane hardly gaining altitude in Vancouver.

  • what a gentle climb...

  • I believe this is a A340-642 not a A340-300.

  • Well, you are wrong. Look at the engines --> they are CFM engines, while a 642 would have Rolls Royce engines (much larger).

  • Its an A340-300!!

  • Come on! This is a A340-300 Mr!

  • This aircraft is an A340-300

  • Comment removed

  • Whoever named this video.... This aircraft is not a A340-300 it is a A340-642.

  • This is a Airbus A340-300, rego B-HXK.

  • you are wrong a 100% wrong. it is a a340-300 not 340-600

  • Bowenchau sama, Nice video.
