  • He's a vegetarian real shocker.

  • I prefer to take my dietary advice from Yanni.

  • Well that was good for a laugh. Everything Tesh said was horseshit lol.

  • What an idiot. Weigh yourself once a day??He's also saying watch your calories?Good thing we don't have to do that on low carb. Better to eat processed low fat foods and watch your calories, than eat whole fresh delicious foods. Whatever John Tesh!

  • John Tesh's final "argument" is the worst one in the diet world. He concludes by promoting the low calorie/low fat diet by justifying by saying that it "worked for him". Let us see how silly this is. I wear a size 9 and half shoe. So Mr. Tesh since that shoe size "works for me", shouldn't it also work for you? Of course not. That is silly because Mr. Tesh is over 6 ft tall, and probably has a bigger foot as a result. See how stupid it is to say that one size or one diet fits all.

  • @alphacause But isn't that what low-carb dieters say too?

It's not stupid. It's actually proof that it works(and 1 billion chinese are thin high-carb eaters). What's stupid is using as an excuse "we're different". NO we're not. We are humans(primates, frugivores)

People who eat a high-fruit diet are thin AND fit AND healthy: see "Dr grahams fitness stunts". He's been on his diet for 30 years. How many of you can say that? ? ?

  • John Tesh claims that people eating a low carb diet, like the Atkins diet, have a high probability of NOT sticking to the diet. He obviously has never been on such a diet, or he wasn’t doing it properly if he did attempt it. What is the primary culprit behind people straying from any diet? The answer is hunger due to the fact that the diet does not give a person any sense of satiety. Fat and protein provides long-term satiety, while carbs don't. In fact carbs stimulate hunger.

  • (continued from previous post) Just because someone who has the title “Dr.” before their name or is a dietician or nutrition, doesn’t mean that what they say about nutrition is necessarily based on good science. Many times these professionals get their information from flawed studies (as Gary Taubes has shown masterfully in his book “Good Calories, Bad Calories”) Furthermore, you have many equally credentialed people, who don’t have the media exposure, also disagree with them as well.

  • I question the intellect of anyone who would take dietary advice from a television personality like John Tesh. He is not so much the problem as much as men like Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen and others with medical credentials, who promote the dogma of low calories/low fat. To the uncritical person, they see titles like Dr. in front of a person's name or RD (registered dietician) after a person's name and think that person is right, when many times they base their ideas on faulty science (continued).

  • @alphacause How about DR. Atkins? Everything you said could be used against your beleifs. Low carbs books are FULL of faulty science, but mostly half-truths such as:

focusing on northern climates to justify a low-fruit, high-fat diet. We're not descended from the cave man who went extinct, likely from the harsh (un-natural) conditions living out of their

    indigenous region (THE TROPICS).

Our primate relatives eat high-fruit 80/10/10.

    cont......

  • .........I also eat high-fruit 80/10/10. So do I and everyone at 30bananas-a-day. We are thin and healthy.

The author of the book 80/10/10 has been on a fruit and veg diet for 30 years. How many guru's can say they've done their diet for 30 years? ( and he's not about to "slip in the shower") - See Dr. Graham's fitness stunts (and lectures)

  • I know that a lot of people loves the Atkins diet. For everyone that's coming against what John Tesh is saying, do you care to share how many carbohydrates you eat a day. Another thing, if you have lost the weight how much have you lost and how much of the weight have you gain back and why did you gain the way back, if the Atkins diet is the way of life.

  • @Archieve00 These same questions could be asked of ANY dieter.

  • @livinlowcarbman I'm asking the low carb dieters on here.

  • @Archieve00 Sure, but the point is your questions apply no matter what your chosen nutritional plan is.

  • People listen to John Tesh?

  • @knarfster Sadly, yes.

  • John Tesh is a joke.

  • Low Carb, well, Primal, rocks and John Tesh has no idea what he is talking about!

  • I've been low carbing for over 3 yrs now...total weight lose 137 to date and I have maintained within 10 pounds for the past yr.....this is not a diet it's a lifestyle. I have never felt better in my life...John stick to playing the piano. Thanks. Rebecca

PS thanks for making a video Jimmy ;)

  • Love it.

  • Oh this explains everything - he's a vegetarian, that explains the wussy new age pap he calls music.

Hmmm not a real theory here-just a thought:

Vegetarians : Tesh, Morrisey ( British whiny emo rocker),Michael Bolton , meat loaf ( how's that for irony?)

If it weren't for Sir paul I'd blame vegetarianism for bad music! LOL

  • I've lost 80 pounds so far and went from a size 78 to a size 60? Low carb works for me, thnk u so much Jim

  • I freaking loved this!!! I love the low carb and lost 45lbs in 2 months and just had a baby and am back on it to lose the baby fat.....

  • Good video Jimmy

I actually hate the idea that Tesh blabbed about weighing yourself everyday and writing everything you eat down.

I don't do that because it's too obsessive for me. I would never stick with that lol.

He's just babbling more common garbage.

  • haha...great video Jimmy.

  • @Zuckdawg I had to respond to that nonsense from Tesh.

  • John Tesh proving he is as credible as many other "celebrity experts" out there...

By the way where did you get the funky music for your video?

  • @kenshin027 Hey man! You're so right...Tesh is way out of his league on this one. The music is part of my iMovie software. Dig it? :D

  • Gallstones are formed when you do NOT eat enough fats.. DUH.. Get with the facts and then try again

  • @LowCarbJC People like Tesh don't let the facts get in the way of what they believe.

  • John Tesh Smesh! Like he is anyones diet expert! :-p

  • @mamaclok He's not my diet expert. :D

  • Great job Jimmy!

I call my diet, basically theNew Atkins, a "Real" or "Whole" Food Diet. Refining is the bad part. Grains are fine as long as we don't break them open. Whole grains are not cracked, crushed, ground, or rolled. They are whole! There's not a smidgen of wholeness in these whole grain servings. Don't even get me started on vegetable oils. There's nothing at all natural about them!

Tesh sounds just like every dietitian I've ever met.

  • @M3nac3r Some of us can't even have whole uncracked grains...this nonsense that you NEED them is ridiculous.

  • Amen BoWulf, Keep up your vidz bro (BoWulf) I subscribe and watch them.

  • @BlackBeltBrian I agree...love Kent's videos. :)

  • @BlackBeltBrian Thank you!

  • Every time I'm hungry (since being on my low-carb diet) I eat. I have found I lose weight if I eat, even before bed, if I'm hungry. If I decide to just go to bed hungry (too tired to grab a snack) or wait until the next meal, I don't lose weight. I love my low carb lifestyle!

  • @SunshineFirwood The body sends a hunger signal for a reason. :D

  • @SunshineFirwood I agree with this post ...I see the same thing in my lifestyle of da low carb.. good points.

  • hmm,,you mean to tell me you guys been lieN to me? LOL,, low carb lifestyle rocks man!! I have ZERO food cravings on low carb, and force myself to eat, and i have no reason to lie. Some days MIGHT throw a craving on me, but all in all those days are far, and very few in between. I support healthy low carb, it works like nothing else I have ever tried. I feel those reports are MORE main stream media LIES! ROCK ON LOW CARBERS!!

  • @WORRO01 GO BOY! Tee-totally agree!

  • Oh, I forgot to check with John Tesh 6 years ago when I started Atkins. My bad... Next time I need to lost 211 pounds, I will make sure I check with his "expert" sources.

  • @bowulf LOL! Yeah, me too Kent!

  • @bowulf I will never cease to be amzaed that an ass like Tesh has been "in the biz" for almot 30 years now. Shows you how far 2 brain cells can take you, if you're determined.

  • @mattimattiusa I hear you... Who knew hosting Entertainment Tonight for too many years would give you such insight into the obesity problem and how to solve it?
