Description is incorrect. Ferrari 512 Testarossas had twelve cylinder boxer engines, but I guess you were referring to modern North American markets. In that case, the Porsche 911, which is presently marketed in North America, has a six cylinder boxer engine.
@EceipSsehc Porsche had a boxer 6, but the Testarossa or 512 TR had a 180° V12. In a real boxer engine the pistons have their own crank pins, but in a 180° V the two oposing pistons share one pin. So in a boxer the oposing pistons move in the opposite direction, in a 180° they move in the same direction.
I have a 2005 Subaru Forester , stick, and take good care of it. It has only about 60,000 miles on it. BUT, when I get up to 90mph I can smell oil burning in the cabin. Not a good sign of a well made car . And it has a buckboard ride over bumps. other than that its a good car.
Porsche had it first, Audi pioneered 4wd for mass production cars, Germans used it in military vehicles way back. Subaru is another copycat mfg. Wonder why Porsche has a car called Boxster.....
I hate coming to car videos and all I see is arguments. Each auto maker has its greatest accomplishments. This video is about Subaru's. Just keep it that way. Im a Ford guy, but I can have respect for other autos.
Here in America, Subarus are Subarus but I found out that Subarus are made by the people that make Polaris and Arctic Cat ATVs!!! Over here, Polaris ATVs are crap, we like Yamahas and Hondas. I have a pressure washer with a Subaru engine and it's WORST on gas than my 16 HP V-Twin Lawnmower!!! Full tank of gas only lasts about 10 minutes in the Subaru pressure washer!!!!! Subarus are plain out junk!!! That's why they copy so many people!
@MrMustangcj Fuji Hevy Industries created Polaris motors till the late 90's, then Polaris started making their own engines, just with FHI pistons. Polaris four-wheelers and snowmobiles were BULLET proof untill the late 90's, now they are just heaps of shit. Arctic Cat makes the world fastest production snowmobile, the Thundercat 1000cc, Subaru doesn't make the engine, it's name was attached on it from being a Robin engine, as part of a sale pitch. Gas mileage doesn't mean its junk!
@MrMustangcj Woah woah woah. SO, the entire basis for your argument is that: 1) that FHI has a subsidiary that is otherwise not related to Subaru, 2) You bought a pressure washer with a flat engine (that's your fault if you didn't know they don't get as good economy as an inline) 3) Your analysis on a brand of car is based on your pressure washer, 4) You didn't state HOW they have copied, just that they have.
@taledarkside Thats about as acurate as saying most car manufactures stole their engines from Ford and actually the flat engine was designed in 1896 by Karl Benz.
@olditaliancarlover CAPS LOCK IS NOT CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL. Oh shit, sorry. Lancias aren't good enough to even have cruise control... Hmmm... well looks like my burn doesn't work on you. Damn.

You're just ignorant. 4) Save some of the Supercars, Italian cars are statistically some of the most unreliable on the planet. My host family in Sienna always said they would never buy an Alpha Romeo for as long as they live. Fiats are good. Lancias would have to do a lot to earn my trust back though.
@olditaliancarlover THE VERY LEAST YOU COULD DO is be a little more original with your insults. I almost want to help you out and give you some better ones.
@vontristan19 The engine can be mounted low, flat, and in the middle of the engine bay. This makes for a centered and low weight distribution giving the car excellent balance. Since its flat it also leaves alot of room in the engine bay for an AWD system. This is why Subaru continues to make the Boxer, because they can mass produce AWD cars. An inline four is off center and high in the engine bay (messing up the center of gravity), and does not leave much room for an AWD system.
No difference. Its just a Subaru sales gimmick. They work exactly the same way. In fact boxer engines are harder to maintain, especially DOHC . They have two head gaskets. At least two camshafts. You have to remove the engine to change spark plugs. You have two exhaust manifolds. Subaru doesn't use counterweights on the crank. Thats why engine vibrates more than an inline. On the positive side, they are lighter, more reliable, make more power per displacement etc.
First this guy comes on a Subaru Boxer Engine video.... brings up a Ford GT. Now switches to talking about different cars like an Audi? If you have to switch from a Ford GT to a Audi... I guess your cars fail. Subaru's stand on any type of racing vs American cars which has to be switched out for different track or road condition attire. SAD
@Promotionpage True but, we kind of already knew that back in like '65. R/T? Know that? It was used on mainly Muscle Cars in before the 70's, and still used today.
@SCHWEBS7 then why does carenvy claim that subaru is the only brand in North America to use boxer engines when Porsche has been using them for pretty much as long as they've built sports cars?
i certainly hope that the inside of my engine is chromed from the factory. Cause we know its whats on the inside that counts. That being said this would be an awesome thing to have in a mancave
BTW Subaru ain't cheap, but all the same talk some smack about my Subi and I will shove my Dom 3.0 XT-R up your... I don't care if you drive an Evo or a Gto... modding cars is good stuff. No need to be hating, we have tree hugging hippies for that.
@prowler2424 Im one of the biggest pot smoking, tree hugging hippies around and i still drive my subaru like its my last day on earth. Hate on that bitch
I am sure Ken thought it through, if you pay attention they are limiting the output in the WRC I believe next year it will be 1.8L. Subaru only has a 2.5 and 2.0(not counting non sedan/hatch). So if I were in the same boat I would of done the same thing... thank goodness I don't have to drive a ford fiesta. All the same Subaru isn't concerned about selling a ton of cars and being #1, they want to keep a decent amount of clientele. Otherwise the STI would be less reserved, I could use a h6 turbo!
@MrMarshall538 that doesnt have anything to do with a boxer engine, the germans invented it karl benz invented it before airplanes even existed ,i dont care if subaru originally made aircrafts
@TechCrazy lancia stratos won conecutive rally's , also audi quattro, was ahead of everyone because nobody had an AWD in fact the stratos RWD was the only one that beat audi once in a while , so, stop bragging about your japanese cars without knowing any facts because nowadays citroen and sebastien loeb are always winning, and about flat engines , porsche used flat engines even the VW beetle used a flat engine, subaru just stole the idea and made som JAP mods
@V8block8 : Bullshit ! BMW copied the dual clutch from Nissan GTR !!! Copied the AWD from Acura and Subaru will always be known as the Rally King. Jap mods my ass. Everything from the interior to the creature comforts to the electronics is being copied. Who are you kidding? You one of those shoddy looking muscle car types? Yuck !
@TechCrazy how difficult can it be to search the facts in google, to see that all the technology and mechanic designs come from european engineers,,, subaru my balls king, you just suck on ken block's videos, what you dont know is that he totaled more than 11 subarus thoughout the video.. and were talking about subaru dont bring up the GTR because thats a different car brand,
@TechCrazy youre so desperate about defending your inferior jap cars, you start insulting me , i guess there is no perfection, the fact is that a porsche 911 beats a subaru impreza, with the same flat 6 cylinder, there is your perfection, and either way you wont afford to buy neither, and if you do, you'll crash and die for being a shithead
@V8block8 : Enough of the porsche. Jeremy Clarkson said the truth about porsche. Outdated historical, artifacts. You are a moron for ignoring facts? You want some facts? Check this article from today in businessweek.
"Automakers worldwide halt production due to shortage of parts from Japan".
And i am not going to argue with people who are stuck with their prejudices and not look at facts.
@TechCrazy enough of it? its just won 1st place in the btitish gt series... you are the one that dont know anything, you say subaru king of rally? then why did ken block changed it for a ford fiesta? and why is sebastien loeb winning with a citroen every race... i do not say japanese cars suck, the lexus LFA is cool, so the nissan GTR,that, is faster than porsche 911 on the nurburgring track, but subaru is just shit, thats why ken bock now uses a ford fiesta
@V8block8 Your stupid boy. Ken did not go to Ford because Subaru sucks. He went to Ford because Subaru wasn't working out for him anymore. If your with a company lets say UPS, and they pay you $20/hour and have limited health insurance, and then FedEx says hey, we want you and we'll pay you $30/hour and unlimited health insurance for the same work. would you stay with UPS? No chump. It doesn't mean Subaru sucks. Means the other guy is offering you better stuff. First place in "BTITISH" right.
@EVo1GuY you stupid fag, in a few words, subaru sucks ford fiesta's balls, ken's recent crash would have been worse in that fuckin crap ..... and i repeat, he preferred the ford fiesta for performance, not for the money
by the way , keep it up in your fugly job as a packer in Fedex maybe one day youll afford a subaru
@V8block8 Will someone please put something in this kids mouth my zipper is stuck. You have no fucking idea how much a Subaru could handle more than that piece of shit party wagon Ford. Stock for Stock the Subaru has 180 MORE HP than the Fiesta. Subaru has won one of the best crash test ratings. I was T-Boned in my brothers Subaru by some bitch in a Lexus SUV. She was going around 70 and the only thing that happened was i broke my collar bone because of the seatbelt. Subaru > Shit Fiesta
@SCHWEBS7 first of all, learn to drive, then learn to talk with guts you fag, and last, learn to respect the best, stock for stock a ford GT beats the shit out of any fuckin subaru stock, and i dont need to go that far, a mustang would tear apart any fuckin subaru so shut the fuck up i bet you havent even tested any of them yourself. but remember, you oughta respect the best, mother fucker,if not ill get you a shut gun up your ass and see if you still talk shit, with your fuckin cheap zipper
@V8block8 Ooo i can drive. I can drive stick its not that hard you jut cant be a shit face redneck a.k.a yourself. I have driven cars worth more money than youve been in. I hope your talking about a Mustang GT and not a Ford GT. Off the line Subaru would smoke, but a Mustang was built for going straight fast. Subaru is built for going fast in any terrain. I have driven Range Rover Supercharged, BMW M5, Subaru Impreza WRX STi, Vipers. Turbo > Supercharger. Boxer > V8. AWD > Rear Wheel Drive
@V8block8 Subaru has one of the best AWD around. Its called Symmetrical AWD. Once the car detects any slippage on a tire it transfers it power to tires that have traction. Subaru are built to withstand almost any condition you can throw at it. Yes a Lamborghini is a nice car but people that get them take them out for about 100 miles a year. They are mostly used to show how much money you have. With a Subaru you get what you pay for. You can run a STi engine 200,000 miles and it will still run.
@SCHWEBS7 well yes subaru is cheaper and more accesible, but if you ask me what AWD would i buy if i could, it would be a 911, the car is perfect and has a very nice interior. besides i prefer german cars than japanese, i know the nissan GTR or the lexus LFA are very good cars, but i still prefer a german car.
@SCHWEBS7 you can run a lambo engine 200,000 miles and it will still run. please do not say that the car is built just for show, its components are top of the line and built to last.
he proly didnt take care of it right with an oil change every 5k miles new sensors every thirty or so new spark plugs etc. their are people who put allot more stress on their lamborghini's than a road trip, to take this one guys account and use it to place a label on all lambos/supercars is utter ignorance. these cars are heavily stress tested and designed to perform and last.
@SCHWEBS7 I can vouch for that, I had the chance to try out both symmetrical AWD and S-AWC and I must say both of these AWD systems perform excellently under every condition
@V8block8 Stock for Stock a Ford GT would beat ANY Subaru you said? Lets take that Ford GT on a rally course and see who the winner is. You didn't specify in beating it how.... what a drag? Wow that's impressive..... lol not
@Promotionpage ok lets talk about rally cars, i could buy a lancia stratos thats of course RWD and what about 20 years older than your impreza, that lancia stratos would win straight, and without all the fuckin technology that of course subaru copies from german cars... if you dont like the stratos because of its RWD that you think you cant handle it, ok lets compare audi's first Quattro, one of the most iconic cars in rally, its the king, fuckin subaru would not beat this old school rally audi
@V8block8 the king? yeah, despite the fact that was beaten by the lancia 037 which was a rwd car, and still when you say rally people will think about lancia, subaru, ford or mitsubishi, not audi and that's about it, peace.
@seph9191 if you read my previous comments i did mention the stratos, also made by lancia. and youre wrong about that. you are the only one that does not know the first quattro.
@V8block8 Actually I know the first quattro very well and since you claimed that it is the king (which It isn't) I had to remember you some manufacturers which can be called kings, but if you think it that way that's fine, just stop pretending everyone has to agree with your opinions.
@V8block8 And that is your opinion, look i don't know what's your problem, probably you simply can't accept that someone else has different opinion (and try to defend your position with childish statements) but you've been already owned by a lot of people here so there is no need to waste more time on this.
Good luck getting your german car raped by subarus.
@seph9191 and you cant accept another opinion as well, otherwise you wouldnt have started this argument in the first place ,so good luck getting yourself raped by a german
and stop typing "peace" at the bottom of your comments, only a queer would write that
@V8block8 You can't even fucking SPELL! Ken Block dropped 8 places and 53 points in Rally America when he switched to Ford. Not to mention, you can't drive a FAST focus or fiesta unless you're a rally driver or have hundreds of thousands of dollars. Consumer-wise, you'd rather have a car with a 10 second 0-60 (fiesta) than a car with a 5.2 0-60 (STI)?
@noobasdfjkl : Clarkson is very practical. Rear engine car's are a fad of the past. Live in the past if you want to, just don't take a fast turn in one of those cars !!!
@TechCrazy 1) the 911 GT2 is 7th for street legal cars at Norschleife 2) Don't be so quick to dismiss tech of the past. The Z06 has a pushrod engine and leaf spring suspension. It was faster than everything Motortrend tested (including an F458 italia) at Leguna Seca. 3) I've driven Carrera Ss before. I went around Lime Rock in Connecticut just fine, and i pushed that car HARD.
@V8block8 Dipshit, Imprezas have NEVER had a 6 cylinder. You might as well compare a Lambo Aventador and a Porsche Boxster. If you want to compare cars with similar horse or engine size or # of cylinders, fine. However, don't just go spouting off bullshit.
@TechCrazy Uhhhh, no. DCTs were put in Porsches and Audis in the '80s. Getrag lifted it off of them for Ford in 2001, and in 2008, they started making them for BMW. No, you idiot, BMW didn't copy Nissan.
@noobasdfjkl : You moron. Read the news. Read who designed the dual clutch system. Then read which car was the first to implement it. Then read who copied it ! Duh !
@TechCrazy Oh, you mean how Adolphe Kégresse invented it for a Citroën, but never got a working model together? You mean how Porsche developed it to work in the Porsche 962 racing car? You mean how, in 2003 when VW put it in the Golf R32? You mean how Ford-Getrag demonstrated a six-speed DCT called the Powershit at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 2005?
@noobasdfjkl You are proving again and again that you are a moron. 2005? Is that the fact you have? Check when the dual clutch mechanism was put into a production nissan and available for sale and not some motor show you freaking idiot !
@TechCrazy Yeah, if only the GTR had 600 foot-pounds of torque. It has 630 newton-meters, which equals 460 foot-pounds. Idiot. Good thing you know a lot about cars *facepalm*
By the way, the Porsche 962 (one of the very first DCTs) had 524 foot-pounds.
Don't bother responding, as you clearly don't even have the intelligence to go to Wikipedia.
@noobasdfjkl : You moron I am talking about the YEAR when they released it. Read the freaking comment carefully.Don't give a rats ass about who made it. And I am not going to bother responding anymore as you seem to be one of those types stuck in the past. Well feel good about your car as you paid a lot of money for it. That's your only solace !
@TechCrazy You said "Oh btw BMW implemented that system in 2008." The word "That" refers to BorgWarner Dualtronic. Dipshit. I don't own a 911. I own a Legacy. I didn't pay much for it at all. I said i had driven a 911 around Lime Rock. I didn't buy it. Dumbass.

@V8block8 : You shitheads will always stick to old ancedotes. If it was european design, why hasnt it been perfected? Why isnt it the number 1?
TechCrazy 11 months ago
@TechCrazy youre so desperate about defending your inferior jap cars, you start insulting me , i guess there is no perfection, the fact is that a porsche 911 beats a subaru impreza, with the same flat 6 cylinder, there is your perfection, and either way you wont afford to buy neither, and if you do, you'll crash and die for being a shithead
V8block8 11 months ago
@V8block8 : Enough of the porsche. Jeremy Clarkson said the truth about porsche. Outdated historical, artifacts. You are a moron for ignoring facts? You want some facts? Check this article from today in businessweek.
"Automakers worldwide halt production due to shortage of parts from Japan".
And i am not going to argue with people who are stuck with their prejudices and not look at facts.
TechCrazy 11 months ago
@TechCrazy enough of it? its just won 1st place in the btitish gt series... you are the one that dont know anything, you say subaru king of rally? then why did ken block changed it for a ford fiesta? and why is sebastien loeb winning with a citroen every race... i do not say japanese cars suck, the lexus LFA is cool, so the nissan GTR,that, is faster than porsche 911 on the nurburgring track, but subaru is just shit, thats why ken bock now uses a ford fiesta
V8block8 11 months ago
@V8block8 Your stupid boy. Ken did not go to Ford because Subaru sucks. He went to Ford because Subaru wasn't working out for him anymore. If your with a company lets say UPS, and they pay you $20/hour and have limited health insurance, and then FedEx says hey, we want you and we'll pay you $30/hour and unlimited health insurance for the same work. would you stay with UPS? No chump. It doesn't mean Subaru sucks. Means the other guy is offering you better stuff. First place in "BTITISH" right.
EVo1GuY 11 months ago
@EVo1GuY you stupid fag, in a few words, subaru sucks ford fiesta's balls, ken's recent crash would have been worse in that fuckin crap ..... and i repeat, he preferred the ford fiesta for performance, not for the money
by the way , keep it up in your fugly job as a packer in Fedex maybe one day youll afford a subaru
V8block8 11 months ago
@V8block8 Will someone please put something in this kids mouth my zipper is stuck. You have no fucking idea how much a Subaru could handle more than that piece of shit party wagon Ford. Stock for Stock the Subaru has 180 MORE HP than the Fiesta. Subaru has won one of the best crash test ratings. I was T-Boned in my brothers Subaru by some bitch in a Lexus SUV. She was going around 70 and the only thing that happened was i broke my collar bone because of the seatbelt. Subaru > Shit Fiesta
SCHWEBS7 9 months ago
@SCHWEBS7 first of all, learn to drive, then learn to talk with guts you fag, and last, learn to respect the best, stock for stock a ford GT beats the shit out of any fuckin subaru stock, and i dont need to go that far, a mustang would tear apart any fuckin subaru so shut the fuck up i bet you havent even tested any of them yourself. but remember, you oughta respect the best, mother fucker,if not ill get you a shut gun up your ass and see if you still talk shit, with your fuckin cheap zipper
V8block8 9 months ago
SCHWEBS7 9 months ago
@SCHWEBS7 you know what i agree with you about the AWD and RWD comparison, but if you want an AWD better an audi or a porsche , a gallardo
V8block8 9 months ago
@V8block8 Subaru has one of the best AWD around. Its called Symmetrical AWD. Once the car detects any slippage on a tire it transfers it power to tires that have traction. Subaru are built to withstand almost any condition you can throw at it. Yes a Lamborghini is a nice car but people that get them take them out for about 100 miles a year. They are mostly used to show how much money you have. With a Subaru you get what you pay for. You can run a STi engine 200,000 miles and it will still run.
SCHWEBS7 9 months ago 16
@SCHWEBS7 well yes subaru is cheaper and more accesible, but if you ask me what AWD would i buy if i could, it would be a 911, the car is perfect and has a very nice interior. besides i prefer german cars than japanese, i know the nissan GTR or the lexus LFA are very good cars, but i still prefer a german car.
V8block8 9 months ago
@SCHWEBS7 you can run a lambo engine 200,000 miles and it will still run. please do not say that the car is built just for show, its components are top of the line and built to last.

@thenextbigone jalopnik.com/5559767/i-sold-everything-to-buy-a-lamborghini-and-drive-across-the-country
his lasted 91,807 miles..... peace
dfunkt4 4 months ago
@dfunkt4
he proly didnt take care of it right with an oil change every 5k miles new sensors every thirty or so new spark plugs etc. their are people who put allot more stress on their lamborghini's than a road trip, to take this one guys account and use it to place a label on all lambos/supercars is utter ignorance. these cars are heavily stress tested and designed to perform and last.
thenextbigone 4 months ago
@SCHWEBS7 I can vouch for that, I had the chance to try out both symmetrical AWD and S-AWC and I must say both of these AWD systems perform excellently under every condition
jayxtreme6 2 months ago
@V8block8 Stock for Stock a Ford GT would beat ANY Subaru you said? Lets take that Ford GT on a rally course and see who the winner is. You didn't specify in beating it how.... what a drag? Wow that's impressive..... lol not
Promotionpage 6 months ago
@Promotionpage ok lets talk about rally cars, i could buy a lancia stratos thats of course RWD and what about 20 years older than your impreza, that lancia stratos would win straight, and without all the fuckin technology that of course subaru copies from german cars... if you dont like the stratos because of its RWD that you think you cant handle it, ok lets compare audi's first Quattro, one of the most iconic cars in rally, its the king, fuckin subaru would not beat this old school rally audi
V8block8 6 months ago
@V8block8 the king? yeah, despite the fact that was beaten by the lancia 037 which was a rwd car, and still when you say rally people will think about lancia, subaru, ford or mitsubishi, not audi and that's about it, peace.
seph9191 2 months ago
@seph9191 if you read my previous comments i did mention the stratos, also made by lancia. and youre wrong about that. you are the only one that does not know the first quattro.
V8block8 1 month ago
@V8block8 Actually I know the first quattro very well and since you claimed that it is the king (which It isn't) I had to remember you some manufacturers which can be called kings, but if you think it that way that's fine, just stop pretending everyone has to agree with your opinions.
seph9191 1 month ago
@seph9191 i dont care if you agree if its the best one, but when you say rally people do think about the audi quattro, even if its not the best one
V8block8 1 month ago
@V8block8 And that is your opinion, look i don't know what's your problem, probably you simply can't accept that someone else has different opinion (and try to defend your position with childish statements) but you've been already owned by a lot of people here so there is no need to waste more time on this.
Good luck getting your german car raped by subarus.
Peace
seph9191 1 month ago
@seph9191 and you cant accept another opinion as well, otherwise you wouldnt have started this argument in the first place ,so good luck getting yourself raped by a german
and stop typing "peace" at the bottom of your comments, only a queer would write that
V8block8 1 month ago
@V8block8 Yeah, maybe 30 years ago, but Subaru has been a star of rally for about two decades now. Hence the WRC wins.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@V8block8 Stratoses and Quattros are quite slow by today's standards.

@WhatUGawkinAt thats not what your mom said last night
V8block8 1 month ago
@V8block8 Yeah, check out Top Gear. Even an underpowered Lotus smoked the Mustang GT. Subs are way faster than Lotuses.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@V8block8 Hey dumbass, he switched to Ford because SUBARU PULLED OUT OF THE WRC BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO SWITCH TO THE NEW SPECS!
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@V8block8 You can't even fucking SPELL! Ken Block dropped 8 places and 53 points in Rally America when he switched to Ford. Not to mention, you can't drive a FAST focus or fiesta unless you're a rally driver or have hundreds of thousands of dollars. Consumer-wise, you'd rather have a car with a 10 second 0-60 (fiesta) than a car with a 5.2 0-60 (STI)?
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy Porsche is an amazing company. Clarkson is an incredibly biased man. Funny, smart, and informative, but very biased.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@noobasdfjkl : Clarkson is very practical. Rear engine car's are a fad of the past. Live in the past if you want to, just don't take a fast turn in one of those cars !!!
TechCrazy 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy 1) the 911 GT2 is 7th for street legal cars at Norschleife 2) Don't be so quick to dismiss tech of the past. The Z06 has a pushrod engine and leaf spring suspension. It was faster than everything Motortrend tested (including an F458 italia) at Leguna Seca. 3) I've driven Carrera Ss before. I went around Lime Rock in Connecticut just fine, and i pushed that car HARD.

@TechCrazy and 4) /watch?v=blDh04HvtZs
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@V8block8 Dipshit, Imprezas have NEVER had a 6 cylinder. You might as well compare a Lambo Aventador and a Porsche Boxster. If you want to compare cars with similar horse or engine size or # of cylinders, fine. However, don't just go spouting off bullshit.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy Uhhhh, no. DCTs were put in Porsches and Audis in the '80s. Getrag lifted it off of them for Ford in 2001, and in 2008, they started making them for BMW. No, you idiot, BMW didn't copy Nissan.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@noobasdfjkl : You moron. Read the news. Read who designed the dual clutch system. Then read which car was the first to implement it. Then read who copied it ! Duh !
TechCrazy 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy Oh, you mean how Adolphe Kégresse invented it for a Citroën, but never got a working model together? You mean how Porsche developed it to work in the Porsche 962 racing car? You mean how, in 2003 when VW put it in the Golf R32? You mean how Ford-Getrag demonstrated a six-speed DCT called the Powershit at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 2005?
You mean all that, dipshit?
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@noobasdfjkl You are proving again and again that you are a moron. 2005? Is that the fact you have? Check when the dual clutch mechanism was put into a production nissan and available for sale and not some motor show you freaking idiot !
TechCrazy 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy Can you not read? I said, Porsche (owned VW at the time) put it in the 962 in the '80s, VW had it in the R32 in 2003!!!
2003!
2003!
Hell, BorgWarner is the company that developed it for the Golf R32. You know, the same company that developed a different DualTronic for the GTR?
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@noobasdfjkl : Yes they did. But it was never developed for a car that could pull in 600 lbs of torque like the GT-R does.
Oh btw BMW implemented that system in 2008.
TechCrazy 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy Yeah, if only the GTR had 600 foot-pounds of torque. It has 630 newton-meters, which equals 460 foot-pounds. Idiot. Good thing you know a lot about cars *facepalm*
By the way, the Porsche 962 (one of the very first DCTs) had 524 foot-pounds.
Don't bother responding, as you clearly don't even have the intelligence to go to Wikipedia.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy Also, BMW uses Getrag, not BorgWarner. Idiot.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@noobasdfjkl : You moron I am talking about the YEAR when they released it. Read the freaking comment carefully.Don't give a rats ass about who made it. And I am not going to bother responding anymore as you seem to be one of those types stuck in the past. Well feel good about your car as you paid a lot of money for it. That's your only solace !
TechCrazy 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy You said "Oh btw BMW implemented that system in 2008." The word "That" refers to BorgWarner Dualtronic. Dipshit. I don't own a 911. I own a Legacy. I didn't pay much for it at all. I said i had driven a 911 around Lime Rock. I didn't buy it. Dumbass.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy Have you ever heard of Audi? You also obviously know nothing, as Citroën has won the last 8 WRCs.
noobasdfjkl 3 weeks ago
@TechCrazy Yeah Audi, Lancia, Peugeot, Citron, Fiat, VW.... none of them are European xD
