I remember hanging out with my cousin - she looked exactly like Kristy McNichol. And people were always stopping her, asking for her autograph. It was so cool to be with her in the summer - always a hoot. And she sometimes pretended to be her.
I remember buying some magazines,because her photos were in them. Otherwise, I would not have bought those magazines. I no longer have them, but it was great to see them in this video.
I remember watching her on various TV shows, and then Family as Buddy, and the movie White Dog and Little Darlings.
I think she was also in a show before Family...Apple's Way I think. Then a show in the early-mid 80s. Can't remember that, but she was certainly popular!
We got to meet Kristy one year when she came to Vegas to see the Osmonds. She invited a big group of us up to her room and we just sat there and talked and goofed around for a couple of hours. She was really nice and down to earth.

She must have been diagnosed with a very severe chronic form of bipolar for this to stop her from acting. Is she really bipolar? Or was there something else? There sure are a lot of famouse acters diagnosed with bipolar now and days like Brook Sheilds. I wonder if this is bogus and just a way for these famous people to advertise this disorder to make the pharmaceutical companies rich. Or, she was really diagnosed something more drastic such as Schizophrenia- not as cool sounding as bipolar.

Kristy is an amazing talent!! I've been a fan since the "Apples Way" days. My cousin Teri had the previlage to know Kristy personally, They went to the same high school together in West Hollywood. Teri has told me that Kristy was the most down to earth person she knew. This was back when "Family" was being filmed.

I actually purchased it when it came out about 1 1/2 years ago at Walmart. You will really enjoy it. I watch it over and over again. I hope they put out the next two seasons. I hear that FAMILY SEASON 3 is to be released and not before time so lets get seasons 4 and 5 out quickly as well.This was such a well scripted and well acted show,but despite being the youngest Kristy was without doubt the most talented of a strong cast....Mauijae and Prettynene21 over to you.

She must have been diagnosed with a very severe chronic form of bipolar for this to stop her from acting. Is she really bipolar? Or was there something else? There sure are a lot of famouse acters diagnosed with bipolar now and days like Brook Sheilds. I wonder if this is bogus and just a way for these famous people to advertise this disorder to make the pharmaceutical companies rich. Or, she was really diagnosed something more drastic such as Schizophrenia- not as cool sounding as bipolar.

Kristy is an amazing talent!! I've been a fan since the "Apples Way" days. My cousin Teri had the previlage to know Kristy personally, They went to the same high school together in West Hollywood. Teri has told me that Kristy was the most down to earth person she knew. This was back when "Family" was being filmed.
I would love to see her act again, but no matter what she desides to do, I wish her the best. She definately deserves the best. Be it chillin' at home or doing whatever! Love her

I grew up watching Kristy McNichol. She is the same age as me so I loved the show as I could relate to a lot that she went through. Yes, I think you can get Season One and Two of Family at Amazon. I actually purchased it when it came out about 1 1/2 years ago at Walmart. You will really enjoy it. I watch it over and over again. I hope they put out the next two seasons.
