  • Yes you've got to be careful. I remember seeing the New Year's Eve 1964 show on GSN where Sammy Davis, Jr. said "The Leader" (the password was "frank") and he was referring to Frank Sinatra. That's when the buzzard went off.

  • Randy is a word as well as a name as he is feeling randy, but of course it's contained in the password too

  • Proper names could be used as clues, but they were never passwords.

  • However, that changed starting with Password Plus.

  • I thought he said the word too and he has given away the clue several times!

Wow how young Betty looks! Still looks great! Was this before they got married?

  • This is from 1963 - I think that Allen and Betty had just returned from their honeymoon.

There were some funny passwords that evening... For instance "romance" and "henpecked"

I love the ending of this episode:

    Allen: "The password is..."

Betty: "HOME - will you take me home Mr. Ludden?"

  • They replayed that clip on Million Dollar Password when Betty White was a guest. They surprised her with it; she teared up and everybody was clearly emotional.

  • What year was this from?

  • We know that this was from the 1960s.

  • Yeah, I knew that lol. I was just wondering if you had a year date. Just curious :)

  • i believe it's 1963

  • This is on the DVD, and this is from the 1st episode with Ludden and Betty as a couple.

To answer ACuriousDanceretc's question, this is from October 1963.

  • Thanks! It's funny though, because I got my DVD and was able to see that!!

  • @ACuriousDanceretc 1963. It was right after Betty and Allen got married. Jack only appeared as a wedding present to the both of them.

  • Here's my clue "Kutshenko."

  • I tried looking it up, but that does not exist.

  • Yeah, it's a girl's last name for Brandy. Brandy Kutshenko. She lives in Mooresville, NC

  • One problem -- this is from the strictest days of "Password". If memory serves, you couldn't use proper names as clues back then. Or am I mistaken?

  • @midknightryder13 If the question you're asking is if it was improper to use "Randy" because it was a proper noun (even if not mistaken for being a part of "brandy"), it would not matter, since "randy" is also an adjective, and thus a common noun. So I don't think it would be a problem for that reason.
