Thank you for posting this video. Crashed both my radian glider and my supercub several times and because of this video, I now repair them successfully no matter how hard the crash. I started out doing it your with hot glue and wooden dowels like you do, but over time I switched to styrofoam glue (The purple tube at Michael's stores in the U.S.) and wooden toothpicks.
@mdamttc199 Noo, i didnt mean measure the strength of the wheel strut :D
I'm thinking of using this nosewheel on another model, but need to know the exact measurements and how strong it is, so i can decide upon whether to buy it.
Good video. Newbie flyer needs to repair cracked foam wings from his first flight ever. Sopwith Camel Pup looked so nice before disaster. after rebuilding engine mount, I will glue ctacks and breaks in thin lower wing. I guess I should consider fortifying it with some carbon fiber tape? Thanks again for sharing this information. Do you have a hot wire cutter because you like sculpting or have to do a lot of repairs? You definately seem experienced .
Just wanted to say thanks for posting this video, it helped me out alot with repairing my EPS p-51 that had massive damage to it.Shes almost done but, shes also got a ton of mods on her too.Ill be posting a video of how to on here as well about some repair and some modifications.
can a hair dryer do the same job as hot water...i know i would have to be carefull not to melt the foam but i have a wot 4 foame and it quite large to fit under the tap..cheers
This an exceptionally well done video in every context! Great content and continuity, extremely informative, wonderful editing and highly entertaining! I'll subscribe to your channel straight away! Congratulations and keep the vids coming and " keep em' flying"!
i was looking for a how to on the net for fixing my RC plane, and i found your vid that helped alot. My crash isnt as bad so i guess i should consider myself lucky! Thanks alot and happy flying!
How much throw do you get in the ailerons and elevator?
I bought one yesterday and built it today and seems to me to have a small throw on the control surfaces. Adjusted to the out-most horn hole but too me seems not enough, roughly how much for example does the elevator come up?
@stonerscolony for max throw, you want the outer hole on the servo and innermost hole on the control surface. You'll get 2-3cm of travel in each direction.
WOW!! I can't believe you were able to get it up and flying again. And quite honestly, when it's in the air... it looks good as new...lol. Excellent Craftsmanship! Great Video :-)
i really can't applaud you enough for doing that. When i break the nose wheel or something tiny, i get so frustrated and just don't wanna do a think until a week passes. It just takes so much patience to fix a plane after that happens. Congratulations, it looks like she flies beautiful after those fixes. Nice.
incredible repair! I threw away my old plane 2 years ago because i thought that it was un-repairble and it was in a better condition than yours in this video ...
Wow! Incredible repair! I just crashed my WingTiger today on "my" maiden flight. Cracked the fuselage and broke the propeller. Will repair thanks to your video!
Excellent video! I can't wait to fix the plane the plane that I was so upset for breaking. Thanks again!

Could you help me, please could you tell me the length of the Nose Landing Gear, and the width of the Metal Nose Landing gear (Metal bit) ??
Thanks in advance
P.S Good video
TheFlightLog 4 months ago
@TheFlightLog The strut? I think it's something like 4mm wire and probably 4" or so high? It's the same as the rear landing gear.
mdamttc199 4 months ago
@mdamttc199 Thanks, how strong is the nose gear 'strut' ??
Cheers again
TheFlightLog 4 months ago
@TheFlightLog It's pretty stiff. I don't know how you'd expect me to measure that.
