  • Really helpful, Paul. We started learning this song this week and, as much as I like it, it's quite a challenge to play. Your method looks a lot easier than trying to play all open chords, but it's hard to see what strings your fingers are on. Any chance that you could provide a link to the chord diagrams you are using?

  • how do you play an e5?

  • Hi, Jean1juan.

All muting is is covering the strings down by the bridge very gently with the palm of your right hand (if you are a right handed player).

The pitch/note of the string comes out but it doesn't ring because your are dampening the sound with the bottom of your hand as you move the pick with your fingers.

Hope this helps. Have fun! Blessings!

  • is he strumming up and down. i can't get do it, when i mute. the strings get hard.

what type of guitar does he have

  • He is playing an acoustic, not an electric. Yes, the strings will feel like they can't move very well. That's normal. Just lift up the pressure from the heel of your hand a little bit more. You'll have to experiment with how much pressure you use. Let me know how it goes.

  • thanks..

  • what chords is his playing. where he getting them from. help me out, and where to put my fingers.

is he also fingerpicking while using th pick

  • Who wrote this song? Him or Don Moen?
