@kekambas79 its ok i checked it out on a website and it said there are different types like colors like Tamato, Mircale and Mystery, or it could be your type of dirt it comes out a different color with the types of dirt...This maybe to late but I saw this and I figured "Ill help them out even if it maybe to late...." so yeah
@Alexplayer777 just get the mud more wet its better to start with realy wet mud then end with realy dry stuff im going to make a how to video so sub to me and then i will upload that
When i made mine, i used ash instead of dirt, mostly because the dit in my backyard was clayish and not fine enough to rub into the ball. I just took some handfuls of ash out of our charcoal grill.
lol i was inspired by mythbusters too...gonna try this as soon as i can get my hands on some soil...i wonder if i could just buy some soil at a nursery, would that be useable?
im currently makeing one for my sience fair and im not sure how im doing i cant figure out the polishing technique and it currently looks/feels like an ovicado.
it so hard i cant do it like i get it to the ball and then when i but the fine dirt on it it just sits on top of the ball it doesnt stick to it what the hell help me ty mythbusters
im sad....i wanna do it but where i live its winter now and there is rain and sleet and snow off and on.....just enough to turn the dirt into mud so i can't use it, it has to be dry dirt....specially when you sprinkle the dirt on the ball..
take a shovel and a bucket, then dry the dirt in an oven *it'll smell like baking potatoes* until dry, then break the clumps back into powder. Then take a portion of dry dirt and make the mud in a separate container, then you can make your dirt dumpling!
I wish I saw this before I made one.I just did what I saw on Mythbusters and they really didn't give info so i just did what they showed. Now I have a frozen mud ball that looks nothing like what it's supposed too.
Haha. Mythbusters started a craze. The Japanese are so cool for just this reason. They can take dirt, and make it awesome. When they get their hands on computers...*shudder*. This is why I love origami, and why I try to introduce people to origami with my vids. Origami is a dorodango ish thing.

After seing this on mythbusters I googled it and found a page with step by step instructions. Went outside grabbed a bunch o dirt and two hours later had my very own dorodango, not as shiny as I've seen, but I think its just technique, got another working, hope it comes out better.
