this video really touched me.. its true that filipinos are hidden among other minority groups. being half filipina half japanese i never embraced my filipino culture as a child. despite growing up in a strict filipino house, i used to say i hate being filipino--- and now i regret not embracing the language, the food, and the connection i had with my family. i am so dedicated to this side of me now and pay my full respects to being a filipina. i am so proud of being a filipino!
If you renew this documentary I hope you include Sen. Ensign, Rep. Scott, and Rep. Austria, all filipino americans (or at least partially). It would be interesting to hear their take on this issue
there are only few filipino restaurants in tokyo and even none in the city where i am living.... one filipino restaurant in tokyo is being run by a japanese and at least in the city where i am living there is a filipino store but own by a japanese as well...

Havng an accent is not a MAJOR issue here? Kasi no matter how you train your self to speak like real natural born american.... you cannot fool them? And hindi nakakahiya me accent... in fact it is not your problem, it is the listeners? You will noticed they will listen to you better if you speak wth accent, kasi they will say.." I beg your pardon?" Hindi dapat ikahiya ang accent dahil maging natural born american dfending where tey came from have accents too?
Christian Philippine natives were lackeys of the Spanish & were forced to do whatever Don Culo Sucio said ... Moros killed the Spanish pigs & stayed free . Sama sama tayo sa bandila ng Al Islam ! Iwan niyo yung kultura ng mga Kastila ...

I remember Marie from Arkipelago. Sadly she doesn't have books over Cebuano language learning or books on the Spanish langauge of Islas Filipinas...
