You don't need cooldowns to kill people. I mean you don't have to blow them all. Half the time I actually don't. I use Vanish once samething with blind and sprint. There are a few cases that I do use preperation to refresh my vanish in a fight but that is only against plate wearers.

I know this may sound crazy, but one day you should try garroteing and rupturing. It is very effective on palis, warrs and death knights because there armour cant ward of DoT attacks.

a little bit. but thats why u use envenom instead of eviscerate. envenom ignores armor. usually i only use eviscerate if i got cold blood up since my eviscerate crits hit up to 12k. my envenom usually does 7k normally. plus if you open up with garrote and rupture your looking at 6k dots.(that is with the appropriate talents and glyphs)

But...but...that's how the class is designed. It's not underpowered at all..It's a fairly balanced system. If they didn't 'need' their cooldowns to kill people they'd be insanely overpowered all the time. If they 'need'ed them ALL the time they'd only be able to kill things every 3 minutes or w/e. In the video there are many occasions where I don't use all the cooldowns I could have, or even should have and I do fine. Shamans just aren't made that way. They don't use cooldowns in the same sense.

One more thing i saw when ur taking on melee classes: u dont use dismantle, unless im not seeing it may be mistaken.

A good set up is: Cheap Shot > Mutilate > Rupture > Dismantle

This way ur target is poisoned, bleeding, and disarmed b4 the initial stun is up = ouch

Right now they are working on improving Shadow Dance, in the next patch the cooldown on the abilities will be removed and I think this will make it a more worth-while spec. On live currently I'm playing around with 41/5/15 Which is working pretty well.

To answer your question, it really depends on where you're pvping. In world pvp, right now I think it is HfB, but in BGs it's SD because of the extra survivability. Assassination doesn't really last as long unless you have a healer.

For all the people worrying about shadow dance its actually easy to work around. Make the following macro. /cast shadowdance . . . /switchactionbar 1 2 . . . . shadowdance will cast and switch to the second bar . . . you can put all ur stealth options on that bar. When shadowdance is over, hit the macro again, it returns you to the normal bar. I just think the ability is more gimmicky than actually really useful is my problem.

my uber problem is that i have to push more and more buttons, now with shadow dance, i get another 4 buttons to push push push. And i think with hemo build shadow dance is useless, u can only use cheap shot and garrote thats all, shadow dance is for daggers and ambush. hemo spec is the easiest way to play, u have just to spam it, so i think now that for example a 30/0/41 build can be kickass, but we will see!

I played on PTR now for quite a long time. I was very underwhelmed with the new talents. Quite dissapointed. I was constantly losing duels . . . until I spec'd back to ShS/Hemo Fists . . . Not really like the way rogues are shaping up and I think the other classes are a lot happier with their talents . . . save a few others in our position. This shitty talent is not how subt. rogue fighting works IMO. If you spec this way expect to get your ass shot off/ DoT'd/ PoM pyro'd by that "guy" way over there that you can barely see while you are running around like a warrior trying to tank. 1V1 it's a good spec, but where do you get a straight up 1v1? DUELS? WORLD PVP? most of the game is not 1V1.

I understand the video had many flaws, one being my over-confident attempt to shadowstep the intercept, and there were a few fights I could have dismantled more...and I also missed a few Arcane Torrents..but whatever, I'm mediocre at best, in pvp anyway. As for your question about Shadowstep, yes...it lets you use stealthed abilities while unstealthed but gives them a 2 second cooldown for its duration.

I agree with you, I think Shadow Dance daggers has the potential to be the most powerful spec in pvp. Personally I prefer Hunger for Blood, it doesn't have as much survivability as SD, but there is possibility for good a damage output. I think a majority of pvpers will be split between these two specs at 80.

After seeing the vid, I clearly thought sub ambushmode looked the coolest and god the most dmg boost output, it's not like we're battling some raid monsters anyway. It's good to see, that other people thought likewise and especialy one who've played it him/herself.
