  • i make the black belt test with randy williams in romania and i pass

  • sub standard WC

  • yes steven & randy did train together & learn from eachother steven has also train in other styles also such as kali with sifu dan inosanto & karate with sensei fumio demura 7 he also knew kenpo grand master edparker very well... so yes he is the real deal!!!!!

  • He protect his center like w.c

  • He protect his center like wc

  • Randy Williams was his bodyguard, Randy is A Wing Chun Master by the way.

  • Oh he knows a lot man, wing chun, tai chi and aikido. as the top comment said ' u need to study it then u will understand '

  • It's cos of the centerline theory, so it may seem like he's doing wing tsun, but really really going to the blindside of the opponent is in aikido also, well it's also in jiu-jitsu.. : )..

  • steven have a combnation of wing chun and aikdo its pretty cool

  • Seen some Taiji in his movies as well. Oficially, he's an Aikido sensei, but most masters of global renown are not purists: they train in multiple martial arts to understand.

  • the movement with his hand in front flowing directional is an aikido technique, aswell very simiral is also wing chun in my personal opinion both are amazing martial arts

  • Steven Segal obviously employs the same principles to his martial arts discipline as was promoted by Bruce Lee and adherents to the phenomenon which is JKD..

  • helllllllll nooooooo steven seagal didnt know no damn wing tsun, steven seagal is biggest joke to come to any form of fighting.

  • It's a film. They choreographed the fights so that he could show off his speed and timing (which is amazing) but that doesn't mean he 'knows' wing chun. It just means seagal can move his his hands quickly in a choreographed fight scene. Seagals aikido is amazing, and apparently he has black belts in karate, judo, and kendo. But there's no record of who taught him judo, and no record of him reaching black belt in karate. He could've got his sword skills from aikido, doesn't mean he knows kendo

  • no he doesnt do wing chun, but he himself admits to studying multiple disciplines, and he has knowledge of ip man at least, so he isnt a total spazz when it comes to wing chun

  • seagal has multiple black belts in multiple arts including karate, kendo, judo, aikido, ect

  • Danny Insanto is a friend of Steven's and was in at least one of his movies as well...so yes he also does Kali and Eascrima and was taught some by Danny.

  • he talkes about about what kineds of matial arts he study.and he never talkes about wing tsun .as he said he just doiing aikido and taichi and alittle jujitsoo and his fastness is becuse of doiing so much kendo.as he said. then if u like wing tsun go and study about bruc lee.lier.

  • he's a 7th Dan Aikido master, im sure he has practiced other martial arts but that is his main one, he owns a dojo in japan or used to anyway

  • I agree, this looks more like kali (eskrima) from phillipines

  • He s just waving hands...

  • That' Kali or Escrima. As they are practised along with Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do,it's only natural for him to learn some of it for a movie scene. Cheerz.

  • What film was this from?

  • Hahahahaha!! Awesome!!

  • yeah right i don't think steven seagal needs a bodyguard he has bean a police officer for over 20 years and study aikdio from he was 16 years old opened a dojo and he has bean a bodyguard him self to alot of people so do u think he needs a bodyguard?

  • yeah right i don't think steven seagal needs a bodyguard he has bean a police officer four over 20 years and study aikdio from he was 16 years old opened a dojo and he has bean a bodyguard him self to alot of people

  • AIKIDO!!!

  • Stupid shit wasted 50 seconds of my life and for writing a comment. Fuck. You.

  • Couldn't you tell?

STEVEN SEAGAL IS A HONG KONG PIMP

  • whats the song???

  • @ichtioz Bomfunk MC's - (Crack It) Something Going On

  • he grew up in Michigan...

  • @vjm007

Born in Michigan, he grew up in Fullerton/Buena Park, CA. He received his Shodan at Orange County Aikikai under Sensei Harry Ishisaka. When he was 21 he moved to Tokyo with his best friend Sensei Jim Friesen to study more Aikido.

  • сигал занимался вьетнамским вин чуном. это ни какой не секрет.

  • naaaah, can't you recognize traditional aikido? :P

  • No I don't think that he practiced, WT isn't the only system with Chainpunches.

  • @Taichimaster OHHH,Yes it is...

  • Steven Seagal once hired Wing Chun Sifu Randy Williams as his bodyguard. The two were also co-owners of a restaurant that went belly-up. It also looks like he cross-trained in Filipino kali or escrima. You'll notice he uses hubud-lubud to set up a lot of his moves, including his Aikido.

  • @tampasifu What is Seagal doing at about 23, 24 seconds into this video? The guy who posted it obviously thinks it's Wing Tsun. I don't think so.

  • @ZhuangziZhou Hi, Steven Seagal praticed wing chun with his body guard: Randy Williams.

  • @tampasifu I don't doubt your information, but would like to know how you learned this. I would like to learn more about his martial training. I also see evidence of Kali in his movies. Guro Dan Inosanto is in Out for Justice, and his student Jeff Imada (who choreographed the Bourne fight scenes) is in Hard to Kill. Perhaps Seagal worked with them.

  • Just because he used the chain punch doesn't mean he studied Wing Chun, he moved his shoulders too much anywya, if it was WC, it was poorly done :/

  • Bangkok dangerous

  • Remember he also speaks in certain interviews about spending time growing up in the streets of Hong Kong... he most likely studied there as well.

  • Stephen admits to having trained in more than one martial art style. He eventually formally made Aikido his Golden Goose and most studied martial art. Why do some of you make it seem like he's keeping this secret that obviously is not. He did quite a few interviews and has said all this back in the day. I mean he also worked for the CIA Is that news to you too?

  • The story I heard is his bodyguard is a WC practitioner and that was how he got introduced to it. Then he studied it formally. Not sure who with. Randy Williams name was metioned but i do not know.

  • @zappafile It was Randy Williams. They were also business partners and owned a restaurant in Chicago that went belly-up.

  • He is training in wing chun ... two movies that show it nice ! into the sun and the movie that he fights the monkey man ! But why doesn't he admit to it.

  • such a great martial artist, but such a bad actor

his wing chun looked good not as much as his aikido tho

  • That he uses chain-punch doesn't mean that he trained wing-chun. Ever at all.

  • The fighting applications in aiki (not aiki-do) are quite similar to i-chuan or yunchun (vingtsun), the differnce is that in ving tsun the exercices to develop skills is much more nearer to the essence of the principles (poking hands, chi sao, chi gerk....)

  • wing chun and aikido

  • not necessarily..i've heard he'spracticed ninjutsu actually, which makes better sense cuz he was in japan for many years. you can't really base it on punching cuz styles like ninjutsu kenpo and wing tsun look very similar in execution. all arts come from the same places really.

  • @FriedChkn4Eva not really. i see the relation between tkd and ninjutsu. but wing tsun is WAAAAAY out there as far as styles go.

  • I KNEW IT!! So many people who take Aikido, -ASSUME- that Aikido is better than Wing Chun, yet they've never taken Wing Chun!! Maybe NOW they will take wc, knowing that SS took it, also!

  • Where do you see the Wing Tsun ?? Nothing in these clips is Wing Tsun

  • They are clearly doing -sticky hands- (chi-sow) (also, check out his awesome 'chain-punches')

  • he has awsome sticky hands, and chain-punches!

  • That's Akido, Not Wing Chun

  • @l0nniejac0 I mean Aikido ....lol

  • Looks like, yes

  • Of course he did. He practiced a few WT (and other) moves that look nice on screen ;)

  • This guy can know all of this, his movies will still be LAME...

he started being Lame from Half Past Dead movie, that one was something, after that is all crap

  • @hamko6 although his movies are far from good, he is an amazing martial artist and it really doesn't matters if he is good in WC, Aikido or whatever, the style doesn't matter, the artist does. And as I know, he is very high ranked in Aikido. I personally value both styles.

  • this is not wing chun .the highest levels of most systems in some way start to get real tight inside.thats why it take so long to get to that point.steven seagal has blended a few things but that is off of an aikido structure on a high level

  • aikido, wing chun, tai chi and much more. just look at his applications.

  • Van Damme challenged Seagul and Seagul took off. This is after Seagul was making fun of Van Damme.

    lol What a bitch.

  • whats the title of this song?

  • what i dont get about aikido..yea its all good to throw around someone but how will that be possible when someone is only resisting no matter what ...in all the sessions of learning it ..it doesnt show the person realistically restraining

  • u need to study it then u will understand

  • Lemme explain it to you.

Aikido only seems effective belive me it isn't effective there are just a few techniques that you can use. Its impossible to use it in a real life situation

  • fur real i knew it! thanks

  • you are right my friend

  • aikido is effective, u just need to spend a long long long time to master it and make it useful, and yes in a real life sitation it is effective. im not a big fan of seagal and feel he gives aikido a bad name, hes not impressive, but no he uses a chain punch in the video, not the principals of WC, and ya im sure he has studied other martial arts, bc there is very few if any punches in aikido, plus u should study multiple styles to expand your own skill level

  • wie heist die ses Lied leute

  • Steven Seagal's (former?) bodyguard, Randy Williams, practices Wing Chun at a high level, so it would make sense that Seagal knows Wing Chun.

  • @Aveq randy williams has bad wing chun,i have seen his books and dvd

  • Those are not Wing Chun (or Ving Tzun) moves. Many other martial arts include that kind of punches: Kali and American Kempo, for example. Plus, this is just a coreography.

  • It can't be just wing chun. The american kempo also uses puches like this.

  • He Didnt done Wing Chung, he learned Aikido. There some same moves in aikido as in Wing Tsun... iam 2th technic level in wing chung...i doned for 1 year aikido...:)

  • @BalBoa747 hey i am a master of wing chun in just 5 years now i want to master aikido..that will be an awesome practical combination

  • @nathanbilly592 you fool you cant master wing chun in 5 years, have you tried it in real life, everybody practise sth but can they apply it in reality?and for the aikido,it is not effective you shuold know it

  • Segal és tényleg a Kempo!

  • i've done wing chun, and i haven't seen one single wing chun move

  • Exactly.

It looks similar but does not really follow the principles at all.

  • martial artists like Seagal can use any technique no matter which style

  • yh he used wing chun but as far as i no he only learned aikido

  • Steven Seagal is master in AIKIDO(7 dan), before that he practice Karate kenpo and judo becoming black belt is this martial arts, but maybe.

  • it is not wing chun, it is KARATE KENPO.

  • mc chun, he's too fat now for any style

  • Cockpuncher!

  • I mean Steven Seagal is a master in Aikido and he learned wing chun by Master Randy Williams, but i am not really shure.

But i see in this video that he fight with wing Chun!

Wing Chun but not Wing Tsun, that is not the same.

  • Yes this is Wing Chun, Segal used wing chun in this scene.. Just what they said that Segal practice also other martial arts aside Aikido. We should always remember that we should not be one track minded, we should learn to adopt the style. "NO STYLE IS SUPERIOR, ONLY DIFFERENT LEVEL OF ABILITY, ALL STYLE ARE USEFUL AS LONG AS YOU PRACTICE WELL AND YOU APPLY WELL."

  • Sensei Seagal except for aikido he studied also a filipino martial art called Kali which looks a bit similar to wing tsun. He had a fight scene in Out for Justice in the bar with Dan Inosanto which is a grand master of Kali. It was the sticks fight. Seagal also trains with sticks even in Hard to kill in his recovery process. Without sticks Kali is a hand to hand combat fight which he uses a lot in his later movies instead of aikido.

  • LOL! This Aikido not Wing Chun, Steven Seagal is an Aikido fighter not Wing Chun

  • He practices Aikido.

    And he's not half bad...

  • Wing Chun!

  • please......not much to go on here I do not see much wing chun technique. Many styles use center line approach in that way

  • He is/was friends with Randy Williams. A wing chun sifu in the Chicago area.

  • He is not master of WT. He just use chain punch

  • this is ving tsun.Steven Seagal is master aikido and wing tsun

  • This is not wintsun hust Aikido;)

  • He is a friend of Dan Inosanto. So he may have studied Jun Fan Gung Fu.

  • Steven likes spaghetti too much

  • Hahahahahahaha :D you guys amuse me!

  • Now you're talking about guns?instead of martial arts......make it nuclear weapons.....that makes you less than 3 years old

  • Maybe the wing chun you learn was not the traditional pure style, so does Muay thai which if you train the pure way, its has more than tournaments trainings has to offer.Ever martial arts has now going tournaments style which is not recommended for real self defense on the streets. So which ever martial arts we are taking, we should try to learn from the main reason, real fights not on the ring.

  • I learned WWing Chun under William Chueng, Australia.

Original Muay Thai is less effective as modern Muay Thai. The focus is good, but modern access to information has improved vastly the training methods and style focus. Modern is better.

Self defence is stupid. The only people who use those words are those who place the concept of living on above all things the true Way stands for. Not Warriors. Think about it.

Ring fights are good training. What is wrong with them?

  • you only fights on the ring, but not the street way or to the death style, you know nothing but only tournaments and medals, what a pity.

  • Did I say I'd only fight in the ring? No. Actually, I was in the Infantry before, I was a machine gunner. I've got no problems with fighting to the death.

On the other hand, your the one too scared to take a 10 hour bus ride to fight someone with pillows on your hands.

If you want to come to Thung Song and get killed, that is fine. I'll do it. But don't expect someone to travel all the way to Malaysia to murder someone for absolutely no money whatsoever.

    How old are you? 5?

  • same here, i would waste my money too, what are you , a girl? Michelle??Rude fucker

  • I'm not a girl. I'm a fucking huge hairy man.

I didn't threaten you with a gun. Yet you implied I was afraid of a real fight. Modern warfare is the ultimate fucked up fight, and I signed up for it (yet I never went to war, unfortunatly). But signing up for it alone kinda means I don't fear your fists, dude.

Why the fuck do you support Seagal, anyway?

  • Who the fuck told you I support Steven seagal, you're watching his video, does that makes you his fans, fool. No wonder your wing chun sucks, you were from William cheung, do you know his ass got whooped by a wing chun junior fighter? And a guy named michelle?Haha, anyway im glad there a fool like you entertaining me...haha

  • WTF? You must be 5. Watch out for those pillows dude. Wouldn't want to accidently KO yourself next time you rest on one...

  • Haha, 5 again,haha, you dumbass.

  • Even if you are right, when it comes to a choice between being stupid and doing Wing Chun, I think most would choose being completely fucking mentally defficient...

Seriously. grow a brain. Test yourself, have a real fight. Don't just play computer games and think you're cool; get in a real fight a KNOW you suck.

  • you're talking about yourself? haha, chicken ....a thief thinks everyone steals, haha, you freak, LOL

  • WTF? You're the one afraid of a fucking pillow fight. Fuck off.

  • pillow fight? haha, No wonder you're a hairy guy with a name " Michelle'.....OMG , I can't stop laughing, Thanks, you made my day, ROFL

  • Fuck this. I'm done with talking on the net. You can find Thung Song on the map. Go there. You'll find only one Muay Thai gym in Thung Song. Suksivichai. I live in the garage right next door to the gym. Find me.

For what I'll do to you next, you'll get 50,000 THB. No ring. It'll either go toward your retirment or your funeral.

I wont reply anymore. It's up to you to stop being a fuckhead and get yourself killed.

  • Haha, for just 50,000 THB to beat your ass or play pillow fight,Michelle....hahaha....You're served.

  • Fuck you must have a shit life to have ended up so retarded.

  • Haha,I thought you said you will never reply, Gotcha, you dumbass, haha

  • Unfortunatly, my inbox is getting spammed with your rubbish.

Face it, your a fucking coward afraid of any type of fight.

  • OOhh, the girl is talking , haha, you're like talking to yourself, telling yourself , Michelle's a chicken...By the way, are you a Lady boy? Michelle? hahahahhahaa

  • I never thought someone afraid of a pillow fight would call me a chicken. Yes, Wing Chun has changed the world.

  • ok ok, I'll play pillow fight with you, Michelle girl, haha, lady boy

  • wow, you chose to be completely fucking mentally

deficient, Now,No wonder you're a dumbass retard ,Hahaha.....do you even know what you wrote? Deficient means lack of something, while your sentence meant you chose to be lack of mentality, hahaha....You're served, hahaha, DoucheBag

  • You're not a Thai are you cos you don't sound like one.Thai people for all I know is nice people not like this.

  • And by the way. Most wing chun guys get their ass kicked by thai boxer in UFC fights.

  • true,in tournaments fight yes, but muay thai UFC people got killed by wing chun fighters on the street fight

  • WTF? I suppose you have a vid to back up this theory?

Or a vid of a Wing Chun fighter displaying any skills whatsoever...

Seagal sux. He deosn't know shit how to fight.

  • everyone takes video when they fight? funny

  • Okay. So if I were to tell you the Bananas in Pyjamas kicked ass, you'd believe me? I mean, should I expect anyone to?

There are thousands of videos of effective Muay Thai fighters on the net, many on YouTube, but I cannot find one decent Wing Chun guy. Why?

  • maybe you should try to spar with one.....most people think that only muay thai is effective cos they only think that muay thai fighters train their shin, elbow from hitting trees and all>Ever hear of Bokator? As for chinese kung fu, we have iron palm training like hitting iron beads to marbel bricks.....as always, a spar or a fight will tell....I always prefer to fight than talk.Try wing chun videos from asian coounterparts like Tsui Shong thin. Maybe find a wing chunn fighter and try,

  • I'd fight you. LOL. I'm not sure you've ever even spared before. Makes me confident!

Also, I've never hit a tree in my life. We use bags now. Get with it.

Also, the Chinese do not hit marble bricks. These are rumours spread by frauds.

Striking a surface with greater density than yourself means the energy from the strike with not be absorbed by the target, yet by your own striking surface instead, resulting in injury.

You've been bullshitted to fuckery, my friend!

  • good, if you ever come to penang ,malaysia, let me know.Rumours? i have train kung fu for the past 14 years, training with marbel bricks and all...with proper way and medicine oils and stuff,We have hard training like that and inner trainings like qi gong.....please look around and check thinks before saying its rumour, fool.

  • LOL. You can back that?

Finnally, an internet thug who isn't out of my reach.

I'm in Thung Song, Thailand. I can arrange a professional fight for you in Phuket against me that will pay enough to cover your bus ticket.

    Interested?

How long you in Malaysia for, anyway? If you're not a bullshitter, PM me.

  • Comment removed

  • why dont you come down instead?I'll give you my address....im not sure if you mean professional fights mean stage fights like on the ring if thats it , its stupid, I prefer real fight, no rules. Real street raw martial arts style

  • Yes, but I won't get paid to beat you up if it isn't in the ring. Why would I travel all that way just to get in a fight at my own expense?

    Not going to happen.

On the other hand, we can both get a free trip to Phuket.

Why are you being such a dick, anyway? Everyone knows Wing Chun is not supposed to be taken seriously. It's never been proven to work. Ever. You know that.

  • YOu're a fool , michelle, you haven't tries but assume, what a stupid fuck

  • WTF? I did Wing Chun for 5 years in my teens. I've just moved on. In MA, I've actually tried most things.

  • then you must have not seen the rest or the real thing yet, actually I have nothing against muay thai, I wrote that message was because I was angry over that fella wrote bad on wing chun and how poeple thinks UFC and MMa were the best as it is not because It was a fight in the ring....Martial arts are meant for real fights and so do the original Muay Thai or the traditional one with traditional trainings.

  • Real martial art is meant for development of the self along the true Way of the Warrior.

  • china had 100000 thousand men

    not 1 million.

  • The mongols also had a martial arts of their own. Filipin, china, korea, vietnam.

You guys must know the fact the china could not conquer korea in the old mighty days.

Korea had 50000 soldiers. China had 1000000 men. Guess what. China lost

I guess this mean korea had better tactics and fighting style when the han empire tried to conquer korea

  • you better study your asian history before open your big mouth. The name itself Korea is a Chinese, and in fact the name of a minority sect in China. Korea was part of China before Qing Dynasty, you still see Chinese characters in the temples in Korea nowadays.

  • Aikido was not influenced by wing chun.

As you know most martial arts influenced each others. Not all martial arts came from china.

We should put it this way. All martial arts was influenced from each others country.

I believe wing chun had its influenced from vietnam or opposite way.

A women invented wing chun. No one knows its a true story or not. Budda from India taught chinese monks meditation is just a myth. Everything about martial arts is a myth made by the historic professer

  • I don't care what anyone says - that man paid his dues in a Japanese dojo for TEN years BEFORE he was famous. And a good straight punch is a good straight punch.

  • fuck you

  • YEAH now i know what style that punching was

    thanks!

  • Seagal has admitted that most the punching in his movies is wing chun. It's not a secret.

  • Hot tip for you guys. FACT!

Steven Segal sort out the instruction of Wing Chun Grandmaster William Cheung who also helped chorograph the knife fight sequence in Under Sieged.

  • I am a Wing Chun fighter. Aikido does have some similar techniques. Both have very rapid hand movements. Aikido does incorporate punches and knifehand strikes. Both styles are incredibly effective, and Aikido was likely influenced by Wing Chun, but they are still two different styles. In movies techniques are borrowed from many styles so this debate is really rather pointless in my opinion.

  • Steven Seagal has training in many different martial arts. Although he is an Aikido Shihan (7th Dan) he hold Dan ranks in Shito Ryu Karate (1st blackbelt he ever had) and Kenjutsu. Hes also very skilled in Kali/Eskrima, Wing Chun, Judo and has trained with the Machado brothers in BJJ. Those are the the known martial arts hes practice my guess is hes probably has trained in several others for his movie roles.

  • knowone on here has a clue wha tthere talkin about, i wish u cudnt comment on utube videos cus have the things ppl say is complete bs

  • Steven Segal is an Aikido practicioner

  • master!

  • NO ES WING CHUN IS ESCRIMA KALI

  • He did in fact practice some Wing Tsun (If I recall it right with Leung Ting in person), but as one can see in the video, he did not even understand the most basic principles.

  • lol how can you say he didn`t understand the underlying principles of w... c...,mofo? he got more martial arts experience than most of us!

  • actionman you should give up trying to explain, some people just don't get it. trainhobo, Aikido was the brainchild of Morihei Ueshiba (aka O-Sensei) it was born of an extremely brutal form of aiki-jutsu, O-sensei taught it and lost a LOT of students through serious injury so invented a 'soft' version which we do now. The original is still there if you look for it.

O-Sensei (Great Teacher) earned this title from masters of all the other styles in japan because he tested his mettle with them

  • shite

  • whats the song

  • It's "Something Goin On" by Bomfunk MC.

  • and yes he did but, he also did judo, kendo, karate and kenjutsu which is pretty much the same as aikido

  • this is fuckin awesome man :D

  • yes i would say this is Wing Tsun! i practice also martial arts and i know some people they practise WT its also looking like this this stright punshes with open hands...

  • no seagal has never trained in wing tsun . and anyways in othentic aikido schools they teach u striking such as the straight punch

    <
