Yellow bass are such an under rated fish. Most folks dont want to fish for them because they dont get very big at all. A one pound yellow bass is a real trophy. They are very good eating, much like a crappie. I keep all the yellow bass I catch and when I fry them with a batch of crappie no one can tell the difference between the two.
@Station2Capt Amen to that brother...where I live all the yellow bass we used to catch are all gone...seems everyone fished them out..now its rare to even see one or even catching it is a miracle.
No boat here but fishing off the shore I find it easyto catch yellow bass here in Phx
az. We were throwing em back as we thought they were too small. What is a good size keeper for a yellow bass? and bluegill as well? Also , why are these lil fish worth fishing for? New fisherman here so any advice is welcome ;)
im new too but was looking at TX law and there are no size limits on yellow bass, so i figure they are all worth keeping if you catch enough to feed a few people. same goes for bluegill and trout in my opinion
