@steverooni99 It's a guitar clinic, didn't you read the title. I've seen Geroge play about 15 times since 1987, and tonight was the best that I've ever seen him play. They played 3 or 4 new songs and each of them was amazing. One has some very Hendrix-ish licks in it. They don't play any of that "Smoke This" stuff or any of the experimental things that he's been doing the last 20 years or so, it was just LM and 3 Dokken tunes. (Tooth and Nail, Into the Fire, and Mr Scary (Original))
Just got home from the Lynch Mob show tonight in Westland , MI and fuckin-A the band was AMAZING!!! George played better than I've ever heard/seen him play. Mick Brown was on drums and my head is still ringing from the HUGE bass drum that he uses. The bass player (sorry I forgot his name, he's the guy from RATT) was excellent. And, Oni, well, I was a bit apprehensive since I had heard stories that he had toasted his voice over the years, but damn, he sounds better than the albums!!
@robert1268 Not sure if was ever asked to tour, but if i remember right, he did play the guest spot on one of the shows when the tour went to Pheonix. I'll have to see if there is a video of that show on YT, that would be awesome to see.
I saw George in Omaha at the peak of Dokken in the mid 80's..I do not care about the sound that is the cameras fault..Now go look at some of his old riffs compared to his newer ones..he has expanded so much! There are great guitarists out there.. and NOONE will ever play like him he is stellar..in my opinion..
dude he was in ruston, la this past week and he was so cool. it was at a small bar and maybe a 100 people where there. but when i got to met him he let me hold that guitar and play a couple riffs on it. such a great guitar player
Mr Scary II is when you have a bunch of same ideas that have mutated into your live show and decide...what the hell...I'm fucking George Lynch...and dammit...people love me for this...Who needs Oni logan or other singers to get in the way of great riffage.....Yeah...hell yeah....stop look and listen....I am in my 50's in great shape and play wicked hard....hahaha I love G. LynchBot!
@marcusmarkmus I just picked up the new LM cd tonight, after thier show, but it was so cold in my car, the CD player only started working when i got close to home, but from what i heard as i skimmed through it, it's one of the best CDs that I've bought in a very long time. It sounds just like the first LM album, but his playing has progressed so much since then. At the show, I saw how complex his guitar work is, and he is brutal on his guitars!! (But in a good way) :-)
maniccomp wrote "this guy is a slave to tone. period."
What does that even mean? It's more like the tone is HIS slave. George is a god of tonality. It's not coming through very well in this recording, but normally it's unreal.
his style is so unique hes incredibly underated and deserves more recognision, the intensity of that shreddin makes me have a fuckin heartattack lol!!! HAIL GEORGE
I wish I could suck his dick while he plays Mr.Scary.
