i wish i had a camera... my rat pulls the door thing down and in, then pushes it out. she can escape when its fully locked, so now we have to tie the door shut xD
one of my rats got out one night but the other one was smart enough not to leave the cage even with the door wide open. I walked out into the living room that morning and miss Kiera just looked at me through the open door and the race was on to find Avery, who i had only for 3 weeks at that point
i had a hampster brownie that always did that with her cage and, whenever she got out she had a nest in the back of our couch made of dogfood she would always goto. I always found her. She knew her name to. I miss her though, she died almost the same day my grandma died. RIP.
i had a hampster brownie that always did that with her cage and, whenever she got out she had a nest in the back of our couch made of dogfood she would always goto. I always found her. She knew her name to. I miss her though, she died almost the same day my grandma died. RIP.
I have two gerbils I keep in a glass tank. However, if I leave the lid off it too long, Horizon will climb up the water bottle and holder and try to escape. She was successful just two days after I brought her home.
Lol, my rat Iris ALWAYS did that with her old cage so i got a new one, hope she doesnt figure it out with her new one!! Thats why i close my door incase she opens it at night and i rat proofed my room.
my rats did this. then i got an awesome rat-proof cage. no more waking up in the middle of the night saying what the heck!? and seeing my little rat on my chest.
My rat thrall does this all the time, he waits till I go to bed then he has the run of the house. I started using a thick twist tie to lock the door on him and he always tries to take it from me. Hes such a little stinker. All 3 of my rats love to be goofy though.
I am crying with laughter I don't think I have laughed that hard in ages!! excuse me whilst I just pick myself up from the floor! This just has to be one of the most entertaining videos ever. LMFAO.
you better get a new cage befor he runs away my hamster did that but i wasent home so he realy ran away he did it about 10 times realy hes ok now i found him lol
my rat did the same thing and then we put screen on the cage the next morning i woke up and there was a hole through the screen we went looking for her and we found her in the pull out garbage
@OG035 Even if you have a snake and give it rats I hope you know that rats are more intelligent than your snake and probably experience alot of fear when near your snake...heartbreaking, really.
It's your decision to own a snake, but you don't have to come post on this video where you know there are a lot of rat owners and make stupid comments that noone cares about just to get a little attention in your lonely snake infested life.
PS heard that snake owners are compensating-small weewee?
@OG035 Wow, a second post to show how insecure you really are lol. Nah, you seemed pretty sure the first time, sorry. Any you don't work with inches all of a sudden? So I guess it's centimeters then? Anyway, that's a rhetorical question. Get a life and stop trolling, noone cares here. And yes, doesn't change the fact that everyone knows why some little guys own snakes lol
i should not have shown this video to may rats...three days after watching this video my rat (Sarah) managed to open her cage so she and Rocky had a whole night to destroy everything they were not supposed to touch lol
Hehehehe, your rat is smart. Thats why I always do the double lock. I found it very amusing whenever the door would fling open her tail would fly up, and that last time what in the world did she fling???
Very cute, but not as impressive when you kept closing the door the exact same way every time. Now, I had a hamster once, he even managed to escape when I fastened the door... O.O
I had parakeets that could get out of their cage..... one I had for years never figured it out.....but......when I bought a second parakeet he already knew how and w/in a day the older keet learned how. They would fly around the room and then when their adventure was over they would go back inside the cage
That is so cute, female rats are alot smarter then the males thats probably why she continues to open the cage. I had a rat that I let run around on the bed and no matter where she was she always found her way onto the floor sometimes when I would look for her I would find her in my closet on the top shelve sleeping in my sweater or a piece of clothing that happened to be on the shelve she was a little monster but I love her. You have a great day.
This is a GREAT video! your baby Mocha was beautiful and obviously very smart! I am sorry for your loss, I know what it's like losing baby rats :( Rip Mocha, Chub Chub, Rocket, and Jigsaw. We miss you!
Ah, we have to use wire to sort of tie the door stuck, or our fatty lil' girls will run out and eat all the kibble, muesli bars and blankets in the room. And possibly scare the cats. (we have one really cowardly cat that freaks out completely and one that's just nobly cautious).
Besides, after all that eating, they'd probably not be able to squeeze back into the cage (gluttony? those rats embody gluttony)
I remember when my one of my rats managed to open their cage door! She managed to climb up her cage, onto my bed and under the duvet cover and scared the lights out of me when she awoke me from sleeping!
is that wood shavings you are using in they're cage?, i suggest you change to beach chippings (for reptiles) as wood shavings are bad for their respiratory system, i use beach chippings, they're clean and easy,,
