@EJStratMan1 I've seen many comments like these over the past year on various clips of Eric. If you're new to him, I don't have that much of an issue with that. All I ask, is for you or anybody else to do is to get a copy of his first cd he put out when he was like 15. Then, tell me who sounds like who.
Because when Eric had that album out as a damn high school junior, Bonamassa didn't have anything out. I guess he sounded like Hendrix then right? He sounds like Eric Gales and only Eric Gales. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Joe, but this Gales sounds like Bonamassa shit needs to stop...
Bassman was the very first amp I had. At the time I wanted a Marshall just because it said Marshall on it and I saw all those Hard Rockers using Marshall. I didn't know ANYTHING AT ALL about how they were getting those sounds. I just knew they had Marshall Stacks.
I love the raw emotion combined with great technique in Gales' music.
It makes me laugh to think that relatively few people know of Eric Gales while there are videos on You Tube of certain well known grunge bands with millions of views and comments sections full of gushing fanboys deifying guitarists who can only be described as mediocre at best.
Love the vids of Gales playing with Johnson too. The mighty Erics.
When I first moved to Memphis this was the first cat I saw. I dont know ...but I think thats why musicians mention the town in so many songs...Talented sons like this are there... and there aint Nashville.
To me Eric represents someone who is a step ahead of everyone else out there.

Looks like he's playing through a peavey classic 50 there. I don't see the Marshall stacks. Maybe he's trying to avoid hearing loss.

He's got the Sammy Davis Jr. face going on and the Bill Cosby vest.
Is it safe to assume he was whacked out of his head here on meth or cocaine (whatever he was doing?)
