This is NOT an insane dog, this is normal weim behavior. Since she even admits this, I don't know why she posted it with this heading. I guess, to get more hits...saying "active normal weim on a spring day" just wouldn't get too many hits. Weims are very active and family oriented. Do not get another dog unless you get another weim from the same litter at the same time or you will be sorry!

i actually posted it as "insane weimaraner" because it sounded better than "active normal weim on a spring day". i don't care how many hits i get. i just thought my dog was being cute. and we've had weims in the past, and i know they're all like that. weimaraners are crazy dogs compared to other dogs.

You never want to get two pups at the same time! They will relate to each other and their bond to you will never be what it would have been. example: You go out into the yard they play with each other. With one it follows you. Weims do not need to be the in a single dog household! JUST FACTS HERE

jennypenny77: When I brought home a second dog, my weim was broken hearted. It was as if I had told her she wasn't a good enough dog for us. She aged about 10 years that day. My dogs did love each other, the weim would act like a mom to the other dog...but it just changed her. Jealousy was a big issue too.

After that, I learned that weims like to be the only dog unless they are raised together from puppyhood.

What I mean is relax, the title is obviously a joke. And as far as more than one weimie - we've had as many as 5 dogs together at the same time when siblings bring their dogs to visit. It has everything to do with how the dogs are introduced nothing to doo with whether or not the dogs are siblings.

Having 5 dogs at a get together is a different situation than 1 owner having more than 1 dog. I had a weim (now gone)& a pointer(still living). They had sibling rivalry,not a socialization problem with other dogs. We have hunting parties with 10 plus dogs w/out problems. It was an issue with the weim wanting to be the only dog for us.

my ozzy does this. every once in a while, mainly in the early evening he goes outside and runs around like a lunatic. i play with him when he does this but he can get very hyper. and bega0002 even dogs who get lots of excercise every day can get excited sometimes especially when they are young.

its science that weims are more likely to be in a calm submissive state when you have red hair instead of blue. the upside down flag shirt is kinda cool though. As long as you are spending time with your dog, they are happy. Inside or out, running or sitting. Good job

Weimers are Athletic and active dogs, they ARE the Sporting/Hunting/retrieving Breed. Its Natural for a young one like this to be active. Mine is 9 yrs and still is active. Weimes are great for runners and those who like to be outdoors and lead an active lifestyle. Couch potatoes need not even consider a weimer because they will go apeshit and neurotic if you dont run them or do active things with them.
