Hi Americanlife7022, I found a couple of sites on YouTube that I like for Ojibway songs, but there is tons, once you go into these sites you will find a whole bunch on the right side, I like raminarya and also JanaMashonee a beautiful singer who sings in her Ojibway language. Tell me if that is not enough, Love Lou
Hi Americanlife7022, I will try to do some research for you, I know there are sites on YouTube and probably FB as well, plus some pages on the Net, so will tell you when I find out, Love Lou
Ojibway Love Song Lyrics In the still night, The long hour through, I guide my bark canoe, my bark canoe, My love to you. All the stars shine and falls the dew, I seek my love in a bark canoe, In a bark canoe I seek for you. It is I love, your lover true, who glides the stream in Bark Canoe, It glides to you, my love to you. (following words spelled as they sound) Chika Bay Tay Beek, On Don Day On, Chika Bay Tay Beek On Don Day On On Gamay Sepee, On Don Day On. Love Lou
Hi Tune4you, great idea to sing this for your wife, I will try to get the lyrics for you and put them on here by tomorrow, the book was thrown out by the Library because it was old I guess, too bad but I can still get them for you, Love Lou
Thankyou so much peamorris. shengtan 7 I checked at the Library and believe it or not they threw out the book because it was too old. The lyrics are repeated I believe in the Ojibway from the english, there are some ojibway song sites such as by gdruel I notice but I will check some out for you, Love Lou Peace to both of you.
Do you have the lyrics to this song? I was just wondering... because I am trying to find the traditional songs of the Chippewa or Ojibwe. I am a Sault Ste Marie member..my grandfather never taught us any of the traditions as he grew up in a native american boarding school. So some of the traditions, practices and language were lost. I think it was a beautiful song. It comes from the heart... Migwetch (anishinaabe for thank you) for posting...
That was beautiful, I made to listen again.

oh, I looked it up, Animosh means dog in Ojibway, so thank you for that, Joker is a great dog and always enjoys songs, it soothes him.
