Remember loving this as a child, very surprised to learn who the singers were. I just assumed they were black soul singers. Not that it matters but as a child I identified these types of voices only with black singers. So wrong was I. Love it.

@Ilovemusic42 Saw this post and just had to comment because i used to think it was black singers too, i was just a kid also...So it turns out they released this song in "74, but it didnt chart too high, like #60...Then it was covered by a group Tavares, a black soul group, where it topped R&B charts....Then H&O re-released the song in '76-'77, when it went to #7 on the billboard charts...So i believe we heard BOTH versions as kids and I distinctly remember the Tavares version....

I listen to the odd tune here and there from music now but THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! This is just soul through and through, the 60s to the late 90s was a fantastic time for real music. Wish I was there in this era sometimes just for some of the music.
