  • Wonderful and wondrous work of art. I also love the song you put as the soundtrack to your video. I'd graciously appreciate you telling me who the singer is and what album. What magnificent art accompanied by equally magnificent music.

  • Fantastico! Gracias!

  • Beautiful art and wonderful video. You should make a painting of this one.

  • I might one day, you just never know. Thank you for stopping by. :D

  • That's a beautiful painting ! really lovely...

  • Thank you for stopping by.

  • Very beautiful :)

  • Jan, you're my empress! ;) Thank you for commenting.

  • This is incredible, and a chance find by me. Yes butterflies migrate, and cause hurricanes when they flap there wings. Humming Birds steal rides on the backs of migrating geese according to someone I herd somewhere. I am not trying to be wordy; this is what popped into my mind as I watched your video. Art is in the eye of the beholder, and I beheld it when I watched your video. Thanks

    Frank

  • For anyone who actually knows me , I am quite the verbose little devil. Your wordy ways are welcomed here. Thank you for your lovely compliment. :)

  • So enjoyable to watch! Was that first song by Frou Frou? You should make that journal page into a painting - don't hide it away in a closed journal. It's beautiful. I really love her hair.

  • The first song is, "Closing In," by Imogene Heap. I've thought about making it into a painting. Haven't worked my way over there yet. Thanks for commenting! :)

  • Really beautiful. How very talented you are.

  • Thank you for your kind words.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • Thank you for visiting. :)

  • Well that you, if you must say something, then I would hope it would be that you enjoyed it. :)

  • So beautiful! The butterflies are amazing, love this!

  • I love butterflies, they find their way into my journal pages more often than I care to admit. :)

  • This was lovely, you have a poet's soul and an artist's hand. Looking forward to watching more of your vids.

  • Thank you for the lovely compliment. I enjoy making the videos, hopefully there will be more soon. :)

  • you never cease to stun me with your journal. And the prose? It melted my heart. Especially that last line. It's so bittersweet. Fave'd and playlisted this one!!! **************************************

  • Thank you. :) I find that bittersweet is a good description of my life.

  • Mine too. They key is to FIND the balance. we don't always see it until wee look for it.

  • Absolutely beautiful!!! Loved seeing this painting come to life!!! :) Pretty amazing how a painting and the meaning behind it can change over the course of painting it. Happens to me all the time. ;) :D

  • I enjoy allowing art to speak for itself. :) <3 Thanks for the comment, love your art.

  • Love the art, love the prose. Beautiful.

  • Thank you. :) <3

  • beautiful i loved your artist way

  • My path is your path, eventually we meet in the middle.

  • That is fantastic!! The hair is amazing and I love the butterflies. What is that final piece of music? It's beautiful and seems to fit the piece so well. Kind of sad and dreamy but also hopeful. Also, can I ask, what is your process like? Do you plan a page like this in your head before you start or do you just start with the gesso and the paint and let it go where it goes?

  • I have a thing for women with long wind swept hair. *chuckles* The final piece of music is from the Vanity Fair sound track called "She Walks In Beauty," which of course is taken from the famous poem by Lord Byron.

My process is disjointed at best and obsessive at worse. For this page, the song, Games Without Frontiers," by Peter Gabriel really got the whole thing going. (You'll notice that the French saying is not only the title but also the collage text.)

  • Cont: Originally, I was going to have a melancholic woman who was behind a barbed wire fence but eventually the story changed in my head once I began painting on elements (like her hair) Instead it becomes about the game of self-discovery and how we put ourselves out there. The butterflies representing the small parts of us we set out into the world in hopes of a connection. I hope that explains some of it. :)

  • That's great. I love how a piece can transform and 'tell' you the direction hehe.

  • You are one of the most romantic and interesting people I've met on you tube. Such an inspiration and a breath of fresh air. Magical. Absolutely magical...

  • You're too sweet. The world is without romance, a shame really.

  • So long as there are people like you in it, there is still romance. :)
