Tbh I prefer Hirokazu Kanazawa's rendition of this kata. Although this guy is fast and powerful, he rushed the move (after the third back-fist) which is supposed to be done slowly.

This was the only one i learned that was named properly! according to the youtube videos my instructor lead us through shodan when he asked for nidan and nidan when he asked for shodan.

This is Heian Sandon, not Nidan, however in some styles they might change the order of kata around. I.e. if they are called pinan's instead of Heians. In the old days I believe Heaian Nidan was Actually Heian Shodan for instance.

Shito Ryu has this kata as Yondan. In shotokan this is Heian Sandan.

I also would like to point out that many discussions on kata videos around here are very much in contrast with the basic ethos of karate.

well i think its okay if the people give advice how to improve the kata....as long as its not insulting or sth i find it helpful. hits guy's stance is too high, so if somebody tells him "try improve your stance, its too high", thats okay i guess. the insulting and stuff like that is in contrast with the ethos of karate.

It doesnt really matter if tou have blindfold or not if you've learned the kata...or does it? Kind of a good way to get rid of distractions this blindfold method actually :P
