The reason all you ever see is scribble, is because thats all you allow yourself to see. They can both be compared because they are both forms of imagery on public space.

And its a battle to put your alias on as much stuff as possible to be seen. For what? so you have the most popular alias? Its different than paid advertising.  Advertising is brand promotion to increase revenue. Tagging generates no revenue.... how can the two be compared.
